For sale 2005 Toyota corolla S 5 speed.
Here is a chance to get a cheap reliable commuter! Needs some cosmetic work but otherwise excellent commuter with tons of life left in it. I actually bought the car as you see it because I was going to use it to commute about 75 miles each day to work but I ended up getting a company truck to drive so I have no use for it. A brand new clutch was just installed less than 100 miles ago by my mechanic. The car runs and drive beautifully and gets just under 30 mpg on the highway. The Interior of the car is nearly perfect. No stains, tears, scratches or bad smells. AC blows extremely cold and heat works as it should. It also has power windows, locks and cruise control. The car does have some body damage to the driver side and I have estimates in the $1200 range but never cared to fix it because it was only going to serve as my commuter. Get it fixed or drive it as is! It has snow tires on it right now perfect for heading into the winter season. No reserve the car will go to the highest bidder! Toyota drops detail about 414-hp Hybrid-R concept powertrain
Fri, 30 Aug 2013The Toyota Yaris Hybrid-R Concept has been teased already, offering up little glimpses and details of the Frankfurt-bound vehicle. And while those few, shadowy shots have been great, we've really wanted to know how this hatchback would deliver its promised 400-plus horsepower. Under hood sits a 1.6-liter, race-derived, direct-injection, turbocharged four-cylinder that powers the front wheels. Sounds peachy, but with 414 horsepower splashed across the page, we're going to need something more than a 1.6-liter, turbo four.
A supercapacitor, developed from the Toyota TS030 Hybrid Le Mans racer sits in place of a hybrid's traditional battery packs. The benefit, according to Toyota, is that power can be more rapidly absorbed and discharged than in a traditional battery system, like nickel metal-hydride.
The gas engine is joined by a trio of 60-horsepower electric motors. Two of the them power the rear wheels, while the third sits between the engine and the six-speed, sequential gearbox. Developing the same amount of power as the rear-axle motors, this centrally located motor channels power to the race-derived supercapacitor during braking, and ships extra grunt to the rear wheels under acceleration when the front wheels start to lose grip. Besides the distributive power of the central motor, the rear electric motors can adjust the amount of torque flowing to each wheel, much like a differential.

GT Academy returns, and why Gran Turismo 6 demands a pedal/wheel setup

It requires starting early, with karts, and then building up through the years and if you're really, really good (and really, really lucky), a team will notice you and sign you up. Or, you know, you could just become really good at Gran Turismo, and beat out other like-minded fanatics for a seat in the GT Academy.
The racing school, which culls its students from the ranks of Gran Turismo players has already pumped out successful racers, most notably, Lucas Ordoñez, who has a second and third-place finish under his belt at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. With the 2014 GT Academy kicking off April 21 and running through June 16, you could have a chance to be the next Ordoñez.
That won't be easy, though. We recently had a playthrough on GT6 the proper way - with a racing seat, pedals and a steering wheel, complete with column-mounted paddles. (Our setup looked just like the one you see above, though that image is from E3.) In other words, it was as close to driving an actual car as most console games can get.
