2000 Toyota Celica GT-S for sale

I'm selling my 2000 Toyota Celica GT-S.  The car has been very reliable, and it runs like a top.  I'd confidently drive it anywhere, and in fact just I drove it over 3000 miles from Washington State to Nebraska and back in September.  It currently has 91284 miles on it, although that may change as I drive the car during the auction.  The only reason I'm selling it is that my wife just gave birth to our first child, and I need to buy a car that can fit a rear-facing infant seat.

I'm extremely fastidious about maintaining my cars, and I put a tremendous amount of effort into upkeep for this one.  Just in the past year I've had the following work done:
  • Professionally repainted the roof, wing, mirrors, and rear bumper
  • Replaced the steering rack and power steering pump
  • Replaced an oxygen sensor
  • Replaced the left front brake caliper
  • Replaced all four brake pads and turned all four brake rotors
  • Replaced the struts that hold the rear hatch open
  • Replaced both the low and high beam bulbs with brighter, whiter light bulbs
  • Replaced the fuel filter and ran fuel injector cleaner through the fuel system
  • Changed the engine oil and filter and flushed the engine
  • Changed the transmission fluid
  • Replaced the engine air filter
  • Replaced the cabin air filter
  • Had a laser four wheel alignment done
Whenever I sell something on eBay, I try to be very thorough in listing its faults so that there are no surprises.  Beware of other cars of similar age and mileage that have no issues described in the listing.  No thirteen year-old car is perfect, and those cars almost definitely have issues as well, only you have no way of knowing what they are.  I looked at several Celicas before buying mine, and mine was in as good or better condition than the others I looked at.

With all that said, here's a list of issues with my car:
  • Celicas typically have paint problems, and mine’s no exception. I had the car’s roof, wing, mirrors, and rear bumper professionally repainted earlier this year. The clear coat on the parts I didn't repaint is peeling; this is shown in the attached photos.
  • The car has the various small dents and paint chips that you’d expect on a car of this age and mileage. There’s also a scratch on the passenger side door, which I've photographed.
  • The transmission crunches a bit if you try to rush a downshift into fourth gear. This is typical for GT-S's of this age and mileage.
  • The driver’s door power lock doesn't work, so you need to manually lock it with the key.
I'm willing to have the car inspected by an independent party at the buyer's expense.  I'm also willing to ship the car at the buyer's expense.  The car is located in Bellevue, Washington.

Bid with confidence!  I've been an eBay member since 1999 and have a 100% feedback rating based on both sales and purchases.

Toyota Me.We concept is a multifunction Tupperware car [w/video]

Wed, 24 Apr 2013

Not to be outdone by the Renault Twin'Z concept penned by Welsh designer Ross Lovegrove, Toyota has partnered up with French designer Jean-Marie Massaud to create the 2013 Toyota Me.We Concept. Unveiled at Le Rendez-vous Toyota in Paris, the Me.We Concept is an attempt to imagine a car that can be appreciated by owners across a wide variety of lifestyles while being courteous to the environment, too.
From a "Me" perspective, the concept is highly customizable with removable body panels, and even though it might look like just a small hatchback from the outside, Toyota claims it can also be used as a pickup (with an extendable rear panel), a convertible (with a neoprene roof panel) and even an off-road vehicle. As for the "We" part of the car, it's a fully electric vehicle with individual in-wheel motors and a battery pack mounted under the load floor. The concept has a weight of around 1,600 pounds kept low thanks to an aluminum chassis, but it also features renewable bamboo wood for the floor in addition to the fully recyclable polypropylene exterior body panels. Spongebob Squarepants Toyota Highlander gets Tanked in Vegas

Thu, 07 Nov 2013

In 2006, I bought a Scion xB (the super upright, first-generation one), and I always had this wild dream of turning the xBox into an aquarium after it had run its course in my personal test fleet. Long story short, that never happened. But apparently the folks at Toyota got wind of my idea - only, well, this isn't exactly what I had in mind.
Let's just start at the beginning here. This is a 2014 Toyota Highlander - you know, the redesigned one that bowed in New York earlier this year. I haven't driven it yet, but I'm sure it's plenty nice and will appeal to all sorts of families. Families with kids. Kids who like cartoons. Cartoons like Spongebob Squarepants.
Which brings me to our next talking point: the collaboration between Toyota and Nickelodeon for the Spongebob-themed wrap that covers every inch of this Highlander. This isn't the first time we've seen the yellow cartoon sponge on a Highlander - Toyota unveiled a differently wrapped version earlier this year - but this one features more of an aquatic, under-the-sea sort of theme. Perfect, considering the main point of this crossover's reason for being at SEMA.

2014 Toyota Highlander to start at $30,075*

Tue, 17 Dec 2013

We now have pricing for Toyota's redesigned 2014 Highlander, which is seeing moderate price hikes across the board. Prices for the popular crossover have been bumped from less than 1 percent to less than 3 percent on lower-end models (anywhere from $125 to $890, depending on trim). Toyota has increased prices on higher-end XLE and Limited models more substantially - between 4.1 and 4.5 percent ($1,480 to $1,700). The Highlander Hybrid sees its price increase 2 percent ($930). The new model will be available in four different trims and with either front or all-wheel drive.
The absolute cheapest member of the Highlander range, the base LE, with a four-cylinder and front-wheel drive starts at $30,075, an increase of just $195. The LE is also available with a V6 and all-wheel drive, with the bigger engine upping the price to $31,380. All-wheel drive models start at $32,840. A slightly pricier LE Plus starts at $33,600 for a V6 FWD model and $35,060 if you add all-wheel drive.
Next up, we have the XLE, which starts at $36,900 for FWD models and moves up to $38,360 for AWD. The top-tier Limited model starts at $40,500 in FWD spec, grips-at-all-fours versions will retail for $41,960. For those that want the very top of the Highlander range, there's the Platinum Pack, which adds the Driver's Tech Pack (adaptive cruise control, pre-collision warning, lane departure warning and automatic high beams), a panoramic moonroof, heated steering wheel and heated second-row seats to the already well-equipped Limited model. Highlander Platinums start at $42,990 and $44,450, depending on how many tires are doing the work. (Note: All prices include an $860 destination and handling charge.)
