Up for sale is my 1998 Toyota Celica GT Convertible, I'm listing it one more time before it goes to the Junk Yard, I have to make room in my garage so If you see the value in it please take advantage of getting a great deal on this great car.
Recently my car was rear Ended and the labor cost was going to exceed the value of the car so I'm not able to afford to have the back repaired. It does not have a salvage title, but it is a "Revival Junk", This is what the DMV has it as right now. Basically it can be repaired if someone is willing to put the time into fixing it or want's to use it for parts or to part it out. It will be sold as a junk car and if you end up repairing the damage then you can go to the dmv and go through the steps of trying to get it inspected etc.. This car is fully running and in great shape besides the damage from the accident in the back. Under the hood the engine etc are all in amazing condition. The Car drives like a dream and Was taken such good care of. The car has been garage kept and well maintained. So if you are interested in it for parts or to repair or have any questions please email me before purchasing. If you are rebuilding a celica this is a great parts car, or if you buy it you can part it out and make more money off of it then i'm asking. I have seen used celica gt motors sell for 1,500+ dollars just in itself not including everything else under the hood along with exterior and interior parts and accessories so I'm going to have to take a loss on it because I don't have the ability myself to drop the engine out, the converter and everything else under the hood, because if I could i would make way more money doing that then selling it out right to someone, but I need it out of my garage so I can move on and put my new car in. The windows & glass are all original and in excellent shape, everything inside is original oem parts. I have been checking around and just finding any parts on a 1998 celica gt are so hard to find in great condition that the people whom are selling the doors and glass and fabric to the roof etc are making a killing on selling the parts. I know just the parts alone for the convertible top are super expensive if bought new, I know because I had to have new hydrolics put in when I first bought the car so the top would lay back flat and wow I spent 2500.00 just to get that fixed for parts and labor. If you buy parts new from toyota if they still have them you pay an arm and a leg for them so here is a chance to get these parts for a really great deal and fix up your own celica. I had an offer for 1850.00 just for the engine alone but as I can't part it out myself I had to pass. Just The back heated glass window alone people are charging 300.00+ dollars used. If you are considering parting it out the switches inside are all working great, you have all the interior and exterior parts from the mechanical parts to the doors, the fenders, front bumper, windows, seats, steering wheels, mirrors, floor matts shifter, alarm, switches, convertible top fabric to all the parts that make it function to sell, along with headlights, engine, wheels, tires are all in excellent shape, I could go on forever. Toyota plans biggest stock buyback in over a decade
Tue, 01 Apr 2014At the end of December, 2013 Toyota had a cash stockpile of 1.8 trillion yen ($17.5B US). As of March 31, at the end of its current financial year, company coffers are expected to swallow another 1.9 trillion yen ($18.4B US) in net profit - said to be a record sum for the Japanese automaker. In a gesture signaling a turnaround from the horrors of the global recession, Bloomberg reports that Toyota will buy back 60 million shares of its stock, as much as 1.89 percent of the company, for something like 360 billion yen ($3.5B US). It's the first buyback since 2009 and the largest buyback since 2003, when it spent roughly 390 billion yen ($3.8B US) repurchasing shares.
Company president Akio Toyoda founded the Toyota Mobility Foundation (TMF), a non-profit that will support international groups working on transportation issues in emerging markets. Half of the stock that Toyota buys, 30 million shares, will be sold to the foundation via the Japanese Trustee Services Bank for one yen per share, the dividend providing the foundation's initial funding. The other 30 million shares will be canceled, a company spokesman telling Reuters that the company wants to reward shareholders.
Industry analysts have been asking Toyota to either return money to shareholders or invest in new factories, but Toyota has ruled out the latter. After getting burned with excess capacity when the financial crisis came, the company is focused on extracting efficiencies from the plants it already has. Toyota has said it plans to complete the buyback by June of this year.

Claimed to be the "first full hybrid estate car" in the compact class, this two-box Auris has genuine visual panache to go with its load-lugging capability and parsimonious fuel economy. In the metal, we think its v-shaped grille and headlamp treatment acquits itself better than it does on the new RAV4, a model that shares its new design language.
Built by Toyota UK, the Auris Touring Sports hybrid is powered by a familiar-sounding 1.8-liter gas engine paired with an electric motor, with total system output quoted at 134 horsepower. The model will also be available in a variety of gas or diesel trims if you prefer your vehicle sans electrification (a non-hybrid model is shown). Toyota GT86 convertible could debut in March

Just before the Toyota GT 86/Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ line-up was introduced at the Tokyo Motor Show last year, there was a report that Subaru was considering a convertible while Toyota wouldn't even comment on it. That got swapped around when earlier this year the chief engineer on Toyota's side said a convertible was coming, and then a Scion FR-S droptop was confirmed for early 2014.
Autocar now reports that the Toyota GT 86 convertible will make its first appearance at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show in March. In a car whose specs like weight, packaging, horsepower and center of gravity were all tightly controlled to get the most from the least, the changes necessitated by chopping the roof could make this a very different car. It's said to employ a fabric roof to keep a "small" weight gain check, and the suspension will be softened to work more harmoniously with the decreased body stiffness. And somewhere in all that the back seat and trunk space will need to take a hit.
In other news, Autocar says the hi-po GT 86 with some kind of capacitor system instead of batteries is being worked on for 2015.
