1987 TOYOTA CELICA ST

See pictures. All from this weekend.  Reserve is low I think for the condition.  I bought this for my son but he is 6'6" and while this works OK for me at 6'2" it is too cramped for him.

Automatic.
Avg 30 mpg
124,000 original miles on original Toyota engine. With continued regular maintenance and this car will go another 200,000+ miles.
Always garaged.
Original Paint still looks and shines like new - Interior & exterior clean and unmolested. ( Adult owned and maintained. No modifications.) See pictures.
Close to "Time Machine" condition. Body & Interior is 9.5 out of 10.
Owner's manual in glove box.
Unused full size spare and jack tucked in trunk.

Very well cared for. Oil changes, tires rotated every 3,000 miles.
New alternator, new timing belt. New Bosch starter put in this week. All AC components are also new within last 12 months - Blows Ice Cold out of all vents. ( no leaks or recharges required.)
Tires very good tred 75% all around.
No oil or fluid leaks.
All lights and lenses are in great shape. Window seals tight.
Everything works.
Pioneer AM/FM/ CD/ w USB for I-Pod head unit. New Pioneer speakers front & rear.
I do have the original Celica stock radio to go with the car.

Clean open Florida titled car.

This '87 is in better shape than most Toyotas or Hondas that are 20 years newer.

Thanks and please let me know if any questions.  Of course payment in full either in person or cleared funds via Pay Pal or bank/ cashiers check etc prior to releasing title.  I will do my best to assist buyer with transport of vehicle at buyer's expense if not coming to pick it up.

Toyota releases teaser for Kaley Cuoco Super Bowl ad

Wed, 23 Jan 2013

Toyota has released a 35-second teaser video for its upcoming Super Bowl spot staring Kaley Cuoco, the actress best known for her role as object-of-nerd-affection Penny on The Big Bang Theory. The real star of the ad, however, is its soundtrack, the 1995 hit "I Wish" by rapper Skee-Lo that will have your mind cashing nostalgia checks the moment it hits your ears.
We still don't know much about the content, plot or story of this Super Bowl commercial, though we can say that its object of promotion is likely the new RAV4 we see Ms. Cuoco driving in this teaser. The rest of the time she's walking the street in a purple getup granting wishes like Robin Williams on a Disney sound stage. And then the Easter Bunny and a chihuahua enter the picture and we get lost. Clint Eastwood under a bridge this is not.
But hey, Super Bowl ads cost millions and millions of dollars to produce and air, so we trust that Toyota spent its money wisely and will have us ROFLing on game day. Until then, scroll down and witness for yourself the debut of Kaley Cuoco as a Toyota spokeswoman.

Japanese spark plug giant NGK pleads guilty to price fixing, to pay $52M fine

Wed, 20 Aug 2014

The ongoing investigation by the Department of Justice into price fixing in the automotive industry has nabbed one more company breaking the law. Japanese parts giant NGK Spark Plug Company agreed to plead guilty to a felony count of pricing fixing and bid rigging in the in the US District Court in Detroit. Its punishment is a $52.1 million criminal fine and to continue to cooperate with the DOJ's sleuthing into the problem.
According to the DOJ, NGK conspired to fix prices on spark plugs, standard oxygen sensors, and air fuel ratio sensors on vehicles from major automakers in the US, including the former DaimlerChrysler, Honda and Toyota, in a scheme that ran from at least January 2000 to July 2011. The charge claimed that the company and its co-conspirators held meetings where they agreed on bids and price quotes that were submitted to the automakers.
With the latest plea, the DOJ has caught 28 companies and 26 executives for price-fixing and bid rigging in the auto parts industry, and they have collected $2.4 billion in criminal fines. In 2013, the feds brought nine Japanese suppliers down at once, to collect $740 million. Scroll down to read the DOJ's complete announcement of the case.

Nissan, Toyota offering payment deferments to people affected by government shutdown

Tue, 15 Oct 2013

Two weeks into the budget-related government shutdown and it sounds like some progress is finally being made, but that doesn't really help furloughed government employees pay their bills. To help out a little, Nissan and Toyota are joining Hyundai with offering payment deferments to current owners and lessees.
In a release, a Nissan spokesperson said the company is "sympathetic to any of our customers who find themselves in difficult financial circumstances - many times outside of their control."
Both Japanese automakers are allowing payment extensions of up to 90 days without penalties or fees. Unlike the Hyundai Assurance Plan, though, it doesn't seem like the Nissan or Toyota assistance will be extended to those who are still in the buying process. Scroll down for press releases from both companies about their respective payment deferment programs.
