Toyota : 4runner Limited 96-02 2002 on 2040-cars
Front Royal, Virginia, United States
Hi folks and thanks for looking!
I've owned this unit since 2006. It had 79k on it when I purchased it (now has 140k). I own it free and clear (no liens). All four shocks were replaced at 90k. New tires were installed last year (less than 5,000 miles on them). The front brake pads and rotors were replaced 10,000 miles ago. New timing belt, water pump, thermostat, upper and lower radiator hoses, coolant, all drive belts, spark plugs, spark plug wires, fuel filter, air filter, power steering flush, brake fluid flush, transmission flush, rear end grease where all done at 115k. The battery was replaced two years ago. New muffler and tail pipe was installed last year. The spare tire has never been used. I just lowered it down a last month to clean it and check its pressure. It has a remote start installed, but I never got around to having it programmed. I have a set of very nice snow chains and a trailer hitch I'll let go with the truck. This vehicle has always been parked under a carport and never sat outside in the elements. It has never been in any accidents, or fender benders. All the paint, panels, and hood are original. The oil has been change religiously every 3,000 miles or four months. The transmission fluid was drained from the pan and refilled every 1.5 years. Engine, transmission, and rear end are 100% and operate like new. There are a few issues I have to mention: 1. The electronic lumbar support on the driver's seat sometimes does not work. -think just the switch 2. CD player has a few CDs stuck in it and we can't get them out (we have like six stuck in it). 3. The switch on the dash to roll down the very back window recently stopped working. It can be rolled down with the key though. 4. The rear axle seals recently starting seeping grease (common issue for this model). The seals are cheap, but the labor is couple hours at a shop. 5. The rear brake shoes have grease on them from the seeping oil seals (they'll need replaced). This is a sweet truck! I would not hesitate for a second to drive this unit across country. I'll consider a REASONABLE offer. I'm selling this unit because I recently purchased a vehicle more useful to me (a pickup truck). Full size pictures (80) are posted on my website here: ericpetersautos.com/dominics-2002-toyota-4runner-limited/ The body is in very good shape. There are a couple scratches but no serious dents (a couple small ones on the hood from acorns). It has been waxed regularly and the leather interior treated at least once a month. This vehicle has been well taken care of (like all my toys). I'll be happy to work with any shipping/trucking services to arrange pickup. I can deliver it up to 200 miles. This vehicle is being advertised locally as well. I reserve the right to end this auction early if it sales here first. I've set a very low reserve on this auction. Feel free to email me with any questions. Bid with confidence (check my ebay rating). Thank you! Toyota SEMA cars include Tundra for Baja and wacky DUB Edition Yaris
Tue, 28 Oct 2014Toyota has released the first images of its brigade of concepts for the 2014 SEMA Show, introducing a trio of TRD-fettled off-roaders, a pair of DUB-inspired models, a race-ready pickup and a Sienna minivan with 48 inches worth of subwoofers.
Four of the vehicles being shown by Toyota will take part in the grueling Baja 1000 off-road race. The star of that effort will be a race-prepared Tundra, which will actually be competing from November 12 to 16 in the 47th running of the desert race. It'll be supported by a trio of vehicles, which mimics Toyota's TRD Pro Series production vehicles, with the 4Runner, Tacoma and Tundra all acting as support vehicles.
Each of these vehicles has been fabricated by the off-road specialists at N-Fab and comes loaded down with communications and guidance equipment, additional lights and off-road body modifications.
GT Academy returns, and why Gran Turismo 6 demands a pedal/wheel setup
Fri, 18 Apr 2014The path to become a racing driver is a difficult one. It requires starting early, with karts, and then building up through the years and if you're really, really good (and really, really lucky), a team will notice you and sign you up. Or, you know, you could just become really good at Gran Turismo, and beat out other like-minded fanatics for a seat in the GT Academy.
The racing school, which culls its students from the ranks of Gran Turismo players has already pumped out successful racers, most notably, Lucas Ordoñez, who has a second and third-place finish under his belt at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. With the 2014 GT Academy kicking off April 21 and running through June 16, you could have a chance to be the next Ordoñez.
That won't be easy, though. We recently had a playthrough on GT6 the proper way - with a racing seat, pedals and a steering wheel, complete with column-mounted paddles. (Our setup looked just like the one you see above, though that image is from E3.) In other words, it was as close to driving an actual car as most console games can get.
Toyota unveils two new small displacement engines
Thu, 10 Apr 2014Toyota introduced a pair of brand-new engines in Japan today, that it says will eventually spawn 14 different variants by 2015. Where these two engines stand out in today's world, is that neither mill boasts direct injection, and both are naturally aspirated.
The larger of the two is a 1.3-liter, while the smaller engine, a 1.0-liter, was developed in collaboration with Daihatsu. What makes these two unique is that they both use the Atkinson cycle. Now, we aren't going to bore you by explaining just what this is - there's Google for that. Suffice it to say, Atkinson engines are highly efficient, but that efficiency comes by sacrificing power. That's why they're so popular in hybrids, which can offset the power losses.
This focus on fuel efficiency extends throughout the new engines, which also benefit from tweaks like a cooled exhaust gas recirculation system and a trick intake port, while the 1.3 employs Toyota's iE variant of variable valve timing. Both engines can be fitted with stop-start tech. According to Toyota, when fitted with stop-start the 1.3 should provide around a 15-percent bump while the 1.0-liter will increase economy around 30 percent, when they arrive on the road.
