This is a 2 owner car that I have owned for the last 4 years. It has a perfect running 22RE with a 5 speed manual transmission. Everything still works. The 4 wheel drive works perfect. The rear tailgate window operates smoothly and the AC is still R12 and blows cold. Since I have owned the cars I have installed a new fuel tank, coil, plugs, wires, rotor, and cap. The tires are in good condition. The body and frame are in good condition with minimal rust. This 4Runner has spent its whole life in NE Ohio. The right fender is rusted through and there is rusting bubbles on the left quarter above the wheel and around the right tail light. This car was undercoated since new and is very solid. The previous owner took amazing care of it and it has not seen snow or salt in the 4 years I have owned it. Mileage is 166800. the aftermarket CD player does not work but the radio does. Selling as is."

Ford predicts it will finish 2013 as top-selling US brand

Mon, 30 Dec 2013

Ford is ready to call the ball on its 2013 sales totals, predicting a first-place finish for units sold in the US for a single brand. The company anticipates selling more than 2.4 million vehicles when all vehicle sales over the last 12 months have been tallied, repeating the victory it trumpeted over Toyota last year.
According to Ford's accounting, it sold 329,677 more vehicles than did Toyota in 2012. This year, the Blue Oval expects that margin to grow; through the end of November, Ford says it has outsold Toyota by 396,041 units.
Retail sales of Ford products are projected to exceed 1.7 million units for 2013 (the best retail result in 6 years for the company), with passenger cars accounting for 600k of that total. The redesigned Fusion is expected to crest the 290k mark, and the Fiesta is said to be ready to hit a model-record of 70k-plus. Meanwhile, utility vehicles and trucks are still paying a lot of bills in Dearborn, with the new Escape racking up an expected 300k sales and F-Series trucks chugging along at 688,810 units sold thru November.

Toyota mulling more Tundra, Tacoma capacity in TX

Tue, 17 Dec 2013

Toyota may be expanding its pickup truck production at its San Antonio, TX factory following calls from dealers for more Tacoma and Tundra models, according to a new report from Automotive News.
The San Antonio plant is currently able to produce 250,000 trucks on two shifts with overtime, while a secondary facility in Tijuana, Mexico can build an extra 50,000 Tacomas. Despite this capacity, and the fact that Tundra is a slow seller relative to the full-size trucks from Ford, Ram and Chevrolet/GMC (not to mention the Tacoma being part of a segment with diminishing sales), Toyota franchisees apparently can't get enough of the trucks.
"Dealers are telling us they could sell more Tacomas and Tundras," said Bill Fay, the general manager of the Toyota Division. "We are evaluating our footprint and capacity." According to AN, Toyota has moved over 248,000 trucks through November.

Aging Prius, dropping gas prices putting hurt on hybrid, EV sales

Fri, 24 Oct 2014

"As Prius represents by far the biggest chunk of the hybrid marketplace, where Prius goes, the segment goes," - Ed Kim, Autopacific
Fuel prices in the US have been tumbling for the last several weeks, with the average price of a gallon of gas at $3.120 as of October 20, according to the US Energy Information Administration. That price reflects a serious recent drop from $3.299 on October 6. Reports have even suggested that those low numbers might not change for a little while, perhaps as long as years. While drivers certainly love paying less at the pump, the change may be hurting the market for more fuel-efficient models, including the Toyota Prius.
