History: Third owner. Owned for thirteen years by a mature adult. Stored in a garage and tarped unless its dry weather in the summer. Driven at least once every year in the summer. Great fun car that Ive maintained and enjoyed for years.

About this great car:
  • Clean title.
  • This vehicle is road worthy and drives great. Starts great.
  • Cruise control works, blower fan, gauges, heat, A/C for the summer if charged
  • Telescoping and tilting steering wheel.
  • Power seats work, auto mirrors, headlights, all running lights, reverse lights work
  • Brakes and fuel system recently inspected and repaired by licensed mechanic.
  • Instrument cluster, speedo, tach work.
  • Wipers, intermittent settings work.
  • Instrument light dimmer works.
  • Cab lights work.
  • New Steering gear box and steering coupler.
  • Brand new magnaflow dual exhaust.
  • Many interior and mechanical parts repaired/replaced while owned. Well cared for
  • Air shocks in the rear hold up to 120PSI. I'd drive it anywhere
  • Clean
  • Fun road worthy vehicle!

Extras

  • Original valve covers and smog pump.
  • Box 2ft wide by 1ft deep full of interior trim and carpet panel screws and metal press on nuts to match original. Few other interior parts/spares.

Honest list of condition issues below : SEE PICTURES!!
  • Paint is good. Minor blemishes nics.
  • Tires are ok best tires on rear.
  • A/C works for the summer if charged.
  • Vanity light on passenger sun visor does work if you flick the little switch a bit.
  • Passenger side power window motor needs replacing along with the passenger side power lock plug and power window plug (cheap).
  • Weather stripping on drivers side windshield pillar is deformed at the top.
  • Drivers side t-top headliner is not attached but will be included.
  • Small defect in drivers t-top weather stripping (about 2inches) where it mates with window. This is the only spot where the t-tops would let in water and that only happened in a car wash really.
  • Small rust hole in the passenger side floor pan. Two rust holes on the drivers side floor pan. All in the pictures.
  • Rear drivers side body mount behind rear tire missing. Oddly enough this one mount just rusted off just noticed. Rest of the mounts look fine as far as I can see.
  • Smog pump has been removed but will include it along with the original valve covers.
  • Rear passenger side differential seal is wet. Have checked and even replaced the fluid in it with posi-traction/limited slip additive. Its never been low.
  • The power antenna is hooked to the radio but radio is newer CD player and does not operate the antenna motor. Antenna is currently in the up position.
  • The horn clicks but doesnt make a sound. Think the front horns need replacing.
  • Drivers side window regulator has slop and will need rebuilding (which is why the drivers windshield pillar weather strop is a bit crumpled at the top).
I listed honest condition here you should expect to fix if you purchase this vehicle. I want you to be happy with this vehicle and enjoy it as much as I have.

Suzuki recalling 184k GM-built models for fire risk

Fri, 23 May 2014

Suzuki is recalling 184,244 total units of the 2004-2008 Forenza (pictured above) and 2005-2008 Reno manufactured under contract by Daewoo, now General Motors Korea, between September 1, 2003, through July 30, 2008, for a risk of fire. The exact split in terms of number of each model isn't available yet.
In the vehicles, the heat generated in the headlight switch or daytime running light module could cause the parts to melt and cause a fire. If this sounds somewhat familiar, it's the same reason that 218,000 units of the 2004-2008 Chevrolet Aveo are being recalled. According to General Motors spokesperson Alan Adler: "It's the same issue."
Adler explained that as the contracted manufacturer, GM is responsible for finding a remedy to this problem and providing it to Suzuki. It's a similar situation as Toyota recalling the Matrix and giving the automaker the repair parts to fix the Pontiac Vibe, which shares the platform.

Land-speed racer Bill Warner dies from motorcycle crash at 285 MPH

Mon, 15 Jul 2013

Motorcycle land-speed record holder Bill Warner died yesterday after crashing during an attempt at setting another record. The 44-year-old was clocked at 285 miles per hour on the runway of a former air base in northern Maine, before he lost control of his modified Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle and veered off the runway.
It is not known what speed he was traveling when things started to go wrong and unclear what caused the crash, which happened shortly before 10:00 AM. Warner's crew suspect there were mechanical difficulties on his last run, in addition to a slight breeze, according to the video news report. Warner was conscious and able to speak after the crash but died an hour and 15 minutes later at a hospital in Caribou. The event and runway were closed for the rest of the day as police investigated the incident.
Warner was participating in "The Maine Event" at Loring Air Force Base in an attempt to reach 300 mph in one mile. Warner's best land-speed record, set in 2011, was 311.945 mph in 1.5 miles on the same runway, according to the Loring Timing Association, a record that still stands today for open-cockpit motorcycles. After that run, Warner said the scariest part was stopping the bike before the end of the runway. Be sure to check out the video news report after the jump.

VW, Suzuki mulling rekindling relationship in face of legal battle

Sat, 27 Jul 2013

Volkswagen and Suzuki have been undergoing marriage counseling in a bid to avoid finalizing their nasty divorce. The blissful union has been troubled for some time, with Volkswagen claiming that it could affect operational decisions at Suzuki, and the Japanese brand's sniping and constant flirting with a certain Italian temptress causing rifts.
The matter first went to court in 2012, when Suzuki demanded VW get out, and leave its 19.9-percent stake in the Japanese brand in a box to the left. Now, Automotive News is reporting that the company will give the relationship one last shot, according to closed-door dealings between the two in London.
Still, it's understood that VW and Suzuki recognize the benefit of their alliance, and that it'd be in the best interests of the kids both parties to make things work. Spokespeople declined to comment to AN, but the newsmagazine spoke with Frank Biller, an analyst for LBBW in Stuttgart, who said, "Both companies stand to benefit if they can overcome the disagreements over leadership claims."
