INTRODUCTION: Sydney Jacobs Automotive Wholesale LLC, an auto wholesaler based out of Rensselaer Indiana, is now licensed to sell DIRECT to the public and will begin extensive listing of automobiles that will sell NEAR WHOLESALE to the public everyday.Previously we sold only to dealers and at auctions.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO YOU? : YOU can now buy at or near auction price on any car we list - everyday! And, ALL VEHICLES START UNDER AUCTION COST AND ARE LISTED WITH NO RESERVE! too! (proof will be provided to the buyer). Any vehicle sold under these circumstance is subject to the same rules dealers and wholesalers use when buying and selling amongst ourselves at auction, Mainly, we guarantee the engine block to have a good bottom end (no issues or noise associated with rods, crank or bearings, and the transmission will shift well). Typically, no other warrantees are offered, just as it is at the auctions we attend. In general terms for all vehicles; some examples of common issues we have seen and repaired with dozens of different types of cars in the past that WERE NOT covered by dealer auction rules were broken or worn motor mounts, check engine light on (most cars) tie rods, ball joints, tappet noise, worn struts and shocks. Pretty normal items we find on auction vehicles. Many need nothing, most need at least something. If we know of any issues not associated with the short block and not covered, WE WILL NOTE THOSE ISSUES and that's a benefit dealers at auction DO NOT have. Typically, we find it usually takes between $300 to $500 per car we purchase to make them retail-ready. Many take much less and very few require more than $500 to recondition. In any case, even so, you will always pay far less than retail car lot pricing.

THIS AUCTION IS FOR THE 2007 SATURN VUE PICTURED:

OVERVIEW: Clean, runs well, no engine noises at all, shifts well and drives well. This Clean Saturn Vue has been professionally and thoroughly detailed and is ready to drive. OFFERED AT NO RESERVE far, far below normal pricing.

OPTIONS:  ABS, traction control, aluminum wheel option. (power windows, locks, mirrors, air conditioning and tilt wheel are all standard on this model)

NOTABLE ISSUES: missing chip of paint on the front passenger door approxamently 1 1/2'" x 3" which is about a $125 repair, and a very small puncture or cut on the front bumper cover- just under the right side grille - about the size of a quarter or half-dollar - about $125-$150 to repair. We can perform the paint work if the buyer chooses for the prices shown.  Many buyers might not even care  (please see photos). Driver's side arm rest (right side of drivers seat) is loose. There is a small cigarette burn on the left rear seat bottom. No other known issues at this time.

Please contact us with any other questions before bidding. We are only to happy to respond in an honest and open manor. Thank you.

Saturn Ion steering probe closed by NHTSA

Tue, 22 Apr 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has closed its investigation into faulty electric power steering motors affecting 334,728 Saturn Ions from 2004-2007, because General Motors has issued a recall for them. The group's research found that the part failed at a high rate in the vehicles.
GM recalled over 1.3 million vehicles a few weeks ago, including the Ion, because the power steering could suddenly fail. If broken, the cars could still turn, but it took greater effort. The automaker is also covering 96,324 2003 Ions with a lifetime warranty for their motors, but it's not immediately replacing them.
NHTSA opened its investigation into the motors in September 2011, and it found 4,787 complaints and 30,560 warranty claims that showed failure for the Ion alone. It estimated a complaint rate of 14.3 incidents per 1,000 vehicles and warranty claim rate of 9.1 percent. The investigation also found evidence of 12 crashes caused by loss of steering, two of which resulted in injuries.

GM investing $167m in Spring Hill for new midsize vehicles

Tue, 06 Aug 2013

General Motors has announced a large investment in its Spring Hill, Tennessee facility. The former home of Saturn production will be getting a $167 million addition to a previously announced $183 million, to cover a pair of new midsize vehicles. The investment is expected to create 1,800 jobs at the factory.
That $350 million is being divvied up for a pair of programs at Spring Hill. The first will take the bulk of the money ($223 million) and create 1,000 of the 1,800 jobs, while the other will take the remaining $127 million and generate the leftover 800 positions. But GM says the investment will cover "midsize vehicle programs." So what could they be?
The leading candidate in our minds is a new crossover for Buick, called the Anthem, that will slot between the Encore and Enclave, but will be slightly smaller than the Equinox and Terrain. As we've explained, the new model will likely be the first product to sport GM's new D2UX platform, which will eventually replace both the Delta and Theta platforms. Spring Hill is already building the Equinox, so there could be some credence to this theory.

Honda wins Commercial of the Decade, but not for the ad you think [w/VIDEO]

Honda's Commercial of the Decade: "Grrr" - Click above to watch video
The mad men at Adweek recently voted for the Commercial of the Decade (Super Bowl commercials not included) and Honda took top honors over memorable ads from the last ten years by companies like Nike, Budweiser and Sony. That's not a big surprise considering Honda often puts a huge amount of effort into its on-air spots. However, the Japanese automaker didn't win for the commercial you might have expected: "Cog." Though Honda's famous commercial that breaks down a European Accord Tourer into a Rube Goldberg-esque machine was also a finalist, it was beaten by another Honda commercial called "Grrr" that's narrated by Garrison Keillor of all people. You've probably never seen it, but you can after the jump.
Volkswagen also made the list of finalists, but the particular ad chosen out of all the comical VW ads we've seen was unexpected as well. Most surprising carmaker with a commercial in the finals: Saturn. Who knew...
