Here we have a 2001 Saturn SL1 Sedan, blue color body with 117,000 miles on it when the engine gave out and it needs a new engine. This car is in excellent exterior shape with all other components working. When you turn on the battery, the lights and air conditioning work fine but when you try to start the engine you will hear farting sounds from the engine. I have owned this car for 10 years and it was a family car, the seats have candy stains on them from children but no pieces missing. This car has passed inspection this April of 2014 when the engine gave out months after, since that I have decided to buy myself a newer car so I am letting this vehicle go to be a donor car or to be fixed.the lights are not fogged and the tires have 60% tread left. Overall the car is an excellent car besides the engine and stained seats. What happened to the engine is the Timing belt broke and messed up the engine, the mechanic said that I needed a new engine but instead just bought myself a newer car. This can make a great donor car with someone that wants to buy a engine for it and continue driving it, all it needs is an engine and a good cleaning of the seats. everything else in this car is good to go.the exterior is in above average condition meaning there is no massive dents or chipping for its age or even dis-coloring, the exterior headlights are not fogged and the overall color of the car is very nice. STUDY: Ford owns brand loyalty in 2009; Scorned Saturn, Pontiac buyers will look outside of GM
Fri, 16 Oct 2009Ford buyers appear to love their cars more than customers of any other automotive brand, returning back to the American automaker when it comes time to purchase their next vehicle. According to a study by Experian Automotive, six of the top 10 vehicles for customer brand loyalty wear badges from the Blue Oval. That includes the Ford Fusion (62.4 percent), Ford Edge (57.9 percent), Ford Five Hundred/Taurus (56 percent), Ford Freestyle (51.9 percent), Ford Escape (49.4 percent) and the Ford Focus (47.57 percent).
Other vehicles making up the top 10 include the Toyota Prius (52 percent), Chevy Impala (51.7 percent), Toyota Camry (47.8 percent) and Toyota Corolla (47.56 percent). This brings up an interesting question: With the closing of automotive brands like Saturn and Pontiac, where are those buyers to turn for their next automotive purchase?
Apparently, not back to General Motors. According to Experian, Pontiac owners are most likely to look to the Ford lineup for their next car or truck and Saturn shoppers will switch to Toyota or Honda - not particularly surprising given that Saturn was meant to compete with import brands. Experian predicts that GM's overall market share will fall from 20 percent to about 17.5 percent, with most of the slack being picked up by Ford, Honda and Toyota.
Report: GM temporarily restarts Saturn Outlook, Hummer H3 production

Even though both the Saturn and Hummer brands are being phased out, General Motors has reportedly revived production of both the Outlook crossover and H3 SUV to meet consumer demands.
Last month, GM assembled 1,037 Outlooks at its Lansing, Michigan facility, which is where the crossover's Lamda platform stablemates (Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia) are built. A spokesperson for GM states that production was reinstated to utilize the rest of the Saturn-specific material at the facility, and that the automaker will continue to assemble the Outlook for a few more weeks.

Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
