Hello from Fort Dodge Iowa!....Here is my All Wheel Drive (AWD) Saab 9-5 new generation,  2011 with the Cadillac V6.  It has Saab Fighter Jet “Heads Up Display” (HUD) too which is real fun! (no Nav)  I just drove this car to Sioux Falls in snow packed/Ice filled roads! It is unreal how well this car grips the road even without snow tires!! Put your loved ones in the SAFEST ride on the road with AWD SAAB!! Super clean and “as new” with only 38,000 miles!!  Factory remote start.  I have the owners manual and both key FOBs.

It also has “lane departure warning” and “park assist” for locating a parking spot and it uses the front and rear sensors to show how close you are getting to objects too.

The interior is absolutely beautiful.  The leather is in new condition-no rips tears, wear spots-it is one of the cleanest cars we have owned.

It has the slap stick shifters for those who enjoy the 'manual' shifting ability.

It is bluetooth capable so you can pair it to your phone and has XM radio.

The  panaramic sunroof  extends into the back seat for the passengers in the back to enjoy also.

The front seats are heated and has the dual climate controls.  The tires are 18" and are about 40%.

I use to think the Saab 9000's had the most storage space but a recent loading of this new 9-5 with fold down rear seat backs only (the bottom cushion stays put and gives you all the space on the floor in the rear where passengers feet go) makes me think this is the new "Saab hauler".

As I always do with my Saab's I want you to be totally happy with this Saab.  If anything I say about the car is not right I will refund your deposit, no questions asked.  As some of you know I usually collect many (and sell only a few) vintage Saabs but every now and then I drive something a little more modern!

Feel free to call and talk to me if you prefer.  Thanks.....Tom Donney in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

GM recalling 250,000 SUVs over door electronics

Mon, 20 Aug 2012

After a door-fire investigation that dates back to February, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially announced a recall today that affects around 250,000 General Motors SUVs for a faulty driver's door module. The recall applies to the Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7X from the 2006 and 2007 model years, as well as the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL for vehicles sold and/or registered in the Snow Belt.
Road salt use in these midwestern and northern states can lead to corrosion of the driver's door module on these GMT360 and GMT370 vehicles, which allows water to come in contact with the circuit board. If shorted out, the vehicle's power door locks and power windows will not work, and could possibly lead to overheating and, in some circumstances, a fire. No official word on how many total vehicles caught on fire, but back in June, 28 fires had been reported to the government agency. A fix for the problem is still being worked out, but all affected vehicle owners will be notified by GM.

Spyker's $3B lawsuit against GM for blocking Saab sale thrown out

Tue, 11 Jun 2013

US District Judge Gershwin Drain has dismissed a $3-billion lawsuit Spyker filed against General Motors. In the suit, Spyker accused GM of attempting to bankrupt Saab after the US automaker had already sold the company to Spyker. GM in effect blocked the sale of Saab to China's Zhejiang Youngman Lotus Automobile Company by prohibiting the transfer of some of its intellectual property. But the court found that GM had a "contractual right" to approve or disapprove any change of ownership. Furthermore, Reuters reports Judge Drain said the contract between GM and Spyker "is clear, unambiguous and absolute" on the matter.
GM, meanwhile, says it is pleased with the ruling. Spyker CEO Victor Muller has not said whether or not his company will appeal the ruling. The Dutch automaker is expected to make a final decision once the court issues its written order on the case.

Saab's Victor Muller wanted to nix Griffin, return to airplane emblem

Tue, 09 Oct 2012

According to Just-Auto.com Victor Muller wasn't a fan of the Saab Griffin logo. The executive was quoted as saying he wanted to "abolish" the Griffin logo and return to the airplane emblem. Muller made it clear that if he'd had his way, the propeller would have replaced the Griffin across the Saab lineup long ago.
National Electric Vehicle Sweden, the company that recently bought Saab, was forced to abandon the Griffin logo due to the fact that the emblem is still used by truck manufacturer Scania. The manufacturer is reportedly concerned about potential Chinese counterfeiting - NEVS is owned by Youngman, a Chinese automaker - though it's unclear how that relationship would lead to illegal copies.
Either way, NEVS has said the loss of the Griffin logo isn't that important to the company so long as it can continue to build on the Saab name. Muller, meanwhile, said he wishes NEVS luck in the company's electric-vehicle endeavor, but that he doesn't understand its new business model.
