79 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow 67193 Miles New Paint Rebuilt Brakes & Carbs Luxury on 2040-cars
Sterling, Illinois, United States
1975 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow The Silver
Shadow was produced from 1965 – 1976 and was the first Rolls Royce to use
a monocoque chassis. Although several styling cues from the Silver Cloud were
modified and preserved the design of the Silver Shadow was a major departure
from its predecessor. In addition to a more modern appearance the Silver Shadow
introduced many other new features such as a hydraulic dual-circuit disc
braking system, a hydraulic self leveling suspension as well as an independent
rear suspension which all work together to provide the luxurious ride that
Rolls is know for. This particular example is equipped with its original 6.75
Liter V8 which is rated at 189 hp and is mated to its original Turbo Hydramatic
400 transmission. It currently has 67,173 miles and was recently repainted in
its original color of Pearl White with gorgeous red pinstripes which perfectly
match the vibrant red interior. We have completely gone through this car top to
bottom to ensure everything is working as it should be. The braking system was
completely overhauled and is in essence new. She was completely tuned up at
which time both carbs were rebuilt and she purrs like a kitten. The car is
completely original except for the stereo which was upgraded with an Alpine
head unit and all new speakers. It is blue tooth compatible for hands free
calling and will control an i-Pod or Pandora if hooked up to your i-Phone. The
windows were tinted as well which really adds to the look of the car. If you
have been looking for an above average quality Silver Shadow that needs nothing
your search is over. Not only that but we have priced the car aggressively so
if you could see yourself rolling in this beauty don’t wait to call as it might
be too late! Price reduced to $17,900 Offers still considered! **************************************************************************************************************************************************** Additional pictures and a video of the engine running are available on our website. Rolls-Royce Wraith revealed, ready to battle Bentley
Mon, 04 Mar 2013Bentley may have rounded out the redesign of its Continental line of cars with the new Flying Spur four-door's debut at this week's Geneva Motor Show, but Rolls-Royce has shown up in Switzerland with the Wraith, a GT coupe version of the Ghost sedan that moves the brand one step closer to having an answer for everything that wears a Flying B.
The Wraith's natural combatant would be Bentley's Continental GT Coupe, though as all Rollers come in orders of magnitude more expensive than their already costly competitors from Crewe, the new coupe's €245,000 initial starting price will be $100k USD more than the base price of the most expensive Continental, a GT Speed coupe.
What your CEO bonus money will get you is a 624-bhp V12 engine cranking out 590 pound-feet of torque. The sprint to 60 miles per hour will pass by in 4.4 seconds, with a unique 8-speed ZF automatic transmission snapping off shifts using a new Satellite Aided Transmission technology that works with GPS to pre-select the right gear for not only the road you're on, but the road you'll be coming up on ahead.
Six luxury-car features I'm ashamed to admit I love
Thu, 16 Oct 2014A hot compress felt wonderful on my sore back. The methodical kneading of my shoulder blades loosened the knots that formed over several hours of driving. The Swedish-style pulses firing into my lumbar region released more tension.
I wasn't getting a much-needed massage following a recent road trip. I was getting it during the road trip.
I grew up riding in the back seat of a 1976 Chevy Nova. But once you use these lux features, it's easy to go soft.
Rolls-Royce Ghost getting a nip and tuck
Fri, 26 Apr 2013While there isn't too much competition in the "vehicles priced more than houses" market, automakers still have to keep their products fresh, and it looks like the Rolls-Royce Ghost could be getting a slight facelift for 2014. Like the rest of the Ghost, these spy shots show that Rolls-Royce even makes exquisite body camouflage as it takes a close look to really see that any material has been added to the face.
From what we can tell, though, it looks like the Ghost might be getting a nip/tuck to the front end. This will bring its appearance closer to what we saw on the Rolls-Royce Wraith - the coupe version of the Ghost that debuted back in March at the Geneva show - reshaped headlights that feature LED running lights and also what appear to be LED turn signals. More minor changes to the Ghost include restyled door mirrors that might get some aero tweaks, as well as a smooth rear fascia devoid of visible exhaust outlets.
What we don't know is whether the Ghost will also be getting the more powerful version of the V12 found in the Wraith that produces 624 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, versus the current Ghost's 563 hp and 575 lb-ft.
