I am reluctantly selling my beautiful 2007 Porsche Boxster S convertible.  Driven a low and perfect 10 thousand miles a year, this Boxster S is stunning in Artic Silver over a medium charcoal interior. I refer to the mileage as perfect because that's how a Porsche mechanic would describe it. What you should look for in a used Porsche is one that's been consistently driven, and not laid up for long periods of time. This was news to me, but as it was explained, if a car like this sits a long time, the seals dry out and when it starts being driven again under normal circumstances, it's a lot more likely to develop oil leaks, etc. Plus, if there was any major problem, it would usually show up within the first 30 to 40 thousand miles. For the record, this car has no leaks whatsoever, and no issues at all, so you get the stability of a proven track record, plus the lower price compared to the other 07s on ebay, that being under 30 thousand dollars.

This gorgeous convertible is very striking and I've added a few personal touches to make it stand out from the pack. First, I changed out the ugly orange front side lamp markers with clear ones that give the car a much newer, sleeker look. I also changed out the dull gray factory rear Boxster S emblems with new chrome finish emblems that really pop. I also added the rear gold Porsche crest where the designers should have put one in the first place (:    I think the side Porsche Graphics add so much to this car as do the front fender Porsche crests. The nice thing is, if you don't like the crests, they are magnetic, simply pull them off.

This 2007 Porsche Boxster S has always been garaged and never smoked in. I live in Florida, and have only driven it in nice weather. The power top is pristine and operates perfectly. In fact, the car basically starts, stops, runs, handles, looks and even smells like new. Seats are mint, carpet and mats look like new, with no stains or dirt. I am very picky about how clean my cars are, so this vehicle is vacuumed weekly, interior is conditioned every couple of weeks, and paint and glass are kept as clear and shiny as I can keep them.

I've owned other sports convertibles, BMW, Lexus, Mazda, but I must admit, no other car has been as fun to drive as this Porsche. Being a mid-engine car, it is perfectly balanced, so it goes exactly where you want, when you want.  It's almost like you, the car, and the road become one... And that's a nice trifecta!   Another thing I love is the tiptronic transmission. Yes, the 6 speed can be fun, but in all practicality, if you do any city driving at all, it becomes nothing but a chore. I know, I've had both. With the tiptronic, you get the best of both worlds. Shift through the gears manually with the finger tip controls or opt for the no-hassle automatic mode.

The original owner of this little Porsche was a retired Doctor who took the car on some cross country trips, which accounts for a majority of the miles. I am the second owner, a 49 year old business person with 4 kids, so while I enjoy cruising, I've never driven the car hard or in a reckless manner. I just find it nice to know the power is there if I ever need it. Plus, the Boxster S with its painted brake calipers and added styling touches is so much more attractive than the base model. I don't know about you, but when I buy a car, I always go for the highest trim level I can afford. I just figure I'll enjoy it more and it'll have a higher residual when I sell it, so really, it all evens out cost-wise. One other thing the Porsche mechanic told me... And I quote, "If all we worked on was Boxsters, we'd be outta business." That was music to my ears as someone who didn't want to spend the money or put up with the problems of a 911. And it's true... This being the second boxster S I've owned... first was a 2003 S... I've had ZERO problems with either. Just basic maintenance, and normal wear and tear stuff, tires, brakes, etc. They really are so well built; it's amazing.

Well, that's about it. The car is fabulous, tight and fun. It's offered in gorgeous as-is condition with shipping the responsibility of the buyer, although I will assist in any way that I can. A $1000 dollar deposit is required within 48 hours of auction's end and is non-refundable unless the car has been misrepresented. I welcome any inspections and will be happy to answer any questions. You may reach me on my cell between 11am and 8pm Est. 727-254-8494.

Thank-you and happy bidding!

eBay Find of the Day: 1981 Porsche 928 convertible by Carelli

Wed, 30 Apr 2014

The Porsche 928 was perhaps the consummate European GT of its day. With a powerful front-mounted V8 engine that grew in displacement as the model years went on, it was capable of eating up the miles at triple-digit speeds in great comfort for occupants. It was also an unusual beauty, with its sharp front and curved rear featuring innovative integrated bumpers.
Currently for auction on eBay Motors is one of the rarest 928s you're likely to find, in a handsome combination of Guards Red paint and tan leather interior, though we wouldn't mind a less-showy finish to the factory wheels. According to the seller, this car is one of eight 928 convertibles by Carelli Design, a firm that's still in business.
The auction claims that these cars were made in 1981 as a feasibility study between Carelli and Porsche for a possible production 928 convertible. The seller says he worked at the dealership where the car is said to have been originally sold $103,000. To remove the roof and hide the convertible top, there were significant changes made to the body and interior, including redesigned doors and a completely new trunk. As you can see in the gallery, when down, the top is completely hidden in a very factory-like fashion. When up, it looks slightly awkward, though (and we'd really like to see a rear three-quarter view to check out the blind spots).

Porsche releases new images of LMP1 racecar

Mon, 26 Aug 2013

Porsche has released another batch of images of its LMP1 competitor preparing for its debut season in 2014. This isn't the first we've seen of the new car, as June saw four images of the new racer undergoing testing. Where those images looked merely like someone taking pics during the test, the 11 new images seen above have all the hallmarks of highly polished PR shots.
That aside, the camo-covered cars still provide another look at what the new LMP1 car will look like when it arrives next season. The taillights follow the example set by Audi, by vertically mounting ultra-thin LEDs on the tips of the rear wing, while the LED headlights sport the four-prong look that Porsche has been pushing of late. Besides those two items, its difficult to make out many details due to the amount of camo.
Porsche's LMP1 effort will be focused on the FIA World Endurance Championship, which will see the revered brand return to the top flights of the 24 Hours Of Le Mans with F1 ace Mark Webber behind the wheel. As we've mentioned before, the German brand has set up a dedicated microsite that will cover its newest racer's progress.

2015 Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid

Mon, 03 Nov 2014

Think of the electric motor in the facelifted 2015 Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid as the cream filling in an Oreo cookie. Under the hood of this plug-in hybrid crossover is a 333-horsepower, supercharged 3.0-liter V6 with a 95-hp synchronous electric motor sandwiched between it and an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. The clutched powertrain allows pure combustion, pure electric or a combination of both to drive all four wheels through Porsche's permanent all-wheel-drive system.
Differentiating itself from the Panamera S E-Hybrid sedan, which shares the same basic powertrain and stores energy in a 9.4-kWh battery, the Cayenne crossover is fit with a more robust 10.8-kWh lithium-ion battery that delivers an estimated pure-electric driving range of up to 22 miles at speeds of up to 78 miles per hour.
To be one of the very first US media members to sample Porsche's latest fuel-efficient crossover, the automaker flew us to Frankfurt, Germany, to test the five-passenger Cayenne S E-Hybrid on its home turf.
