1994 Porsche 968 Cabriolet 6 Speed

Thank you for viewing my ad.  Up for sale is a clean 1994 Porsche 968 Cabriolet with a 6 speed manual transmission.  The color is Red with Black leather with a Black convertible top.  The mileage reads only 98,710.  The vehicle history is clean, take a  look at the AutoCheck.

Condition:

This Porsche 968 runs and drives great.  The engine pulls strong and the transmission shifts smoothly.  The clutch operates solid and grabs well.  The paint is 100% original on this car!  The body looks great, no dings or scratches present.  I would give this car a strong 9/10 on the exterior.  The interior is very nice also.  The leather seats are in good shape with no cracks or tares.  The carpet is like new throughout.  The dash board has zero cracks, and looks like new.  The convertible top is in great shape, no rips or tares anywhere, and the plastic rear window is clear and clean.  All electronics work as they should, even the clock works!  The flip headlamps go up and down fine.  The convertible top operates fine.  The A/C blows nice and cold!  The factory wheels on the car are in good shape, and the tires are all matching Continental DWS models with plenty of tread.

I have the original books for the car, including the service manual with the factory Vin stamp and order options sticker.  The car was originally purchased at Ray Catena Porsche in Edison, NJ.  Also included are the original floor mats (great shape), spare tire, tool set, Porsche Air Compressor, and the convertible top cover.

You will not find a cleaner Porsche 968 Cabriolet around, especially with a rare 6 speed manual.  These cars are extremely hard to find, and this example is a 100% original no paint work car.  I have many pictures available, call Jon at 908-797-2669 if you would like more pics and additional information.

Thank you for viewing.

Watch the incredibly complicated operation of Porsche's new targa roof

Tue, 14 Jan 2014

Despite Porsche having claimed the name, targa tops are nothing new. In addition to the semi-roofless version of the 911, plenty of cars in the past have used removable roof panels - the new Corvette Stingray has one (as have prior generations), and this type of open-air experience has been available on past vehicles like the Pontiac Solstice Coupe and Honda Civic del Sol.
But when Porsche took the top off its brand new 911 Targa here at the Detroit Auto Show, it was indeed cause for pause. Simply put, this is one of the most complicated and intricate electronic roof panel removal techniques we've ever seen, save perhaps, for the setup found on the Japanese-market Civic del Sol from the 1990s.
We won't spoil the video for you, but basically, rather than just the roof panel coming off, the entire rear glass area lifts away the body in order for the small section over the passenger compartment to slide back. This has to be incredibly expensive to repair once it inevitably breaks. And we highly doubt you'll be able to operate this mechanism at any speed.

Watch this Koenigsegg CCX hit 211 mph on a runway, outpacing McLaren's P1

Tue, 03 Jun 2014

Vmax200 in in England organizes events where those who care to show up with a supercar can run them down the two-mile runway at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground. Evo attended the latest event, bringing an impressively green Lamborghini Aventador to test its girth and gaping vents against other precious metals like the McLaren P1 and F1, Ferrari F12 Berlinetta and Enzo, a Porsche Carrera GT and enough 911 Turbos to start a dealership. Speaking of those Porsches, nine of the top ten slots in the top speed competition are claimed by modified 911 Turbos.
A monochrome Swede ruled them all, though, a black-and-white Koenigsegg CCX setting fire to the speed trap run after run, hitting 211 miles per hour at its quickest. It was followed by, surprise, a 911 GT2 modified by 9E that did 210 mph. You can watch the EVO video below, GT Spirit has a bigger breakdown of the day, and we've included another vid showing the tandem launch of the CCX and McLaren F1.
