This auction is for a 1991 Porsche 944 S2 Cabriolet (Convertible),  non-Turbo vehicle with a 3.0L 4-cylinder 16-Valve engine and a 5-spd Manual tranny.

Vehicle is in great running and driving condition for the model year and mileage.  It is NOT a perfect vehicle or a new vehicle - it's a 20+ year-old USED sports car.  But it LOOKS great and it's a CLASSIC Collectible.
AutoCheck indicates a Salvage Title in 1997(!) which may or may not be correct.....I have no idea why and I have no history of the vehicle that far back.  It was purchased with a CLEAR CT Title  and now it has a CLEAR NY State Title (see photos).  No further information is available.

Only a handful of Black Porsche S2 were made in 1991 (the last year of this style 944s) and it has the most powerful naturally aspired engine of 3.0L and 220 HP.   No Turbo lag and no costly maintenance bills to worry about...Plenty of torque throughout the RPM range.

The Timing Belt and Water pump were done at 103K miles....Recent tune-up includes new NGK plugs and oil and filter change.   No service records are available from previous owners.   I have maintained this Porsche (along with my Porsche 928 vehicles) in nice running condition with regular oil and filter changes.

The paint shows very well and there are no major scratches or dents anywhere....The interior is in average condition for the model year and mileage and there is a separation on the driver's seat....The dash is in great condition with no rips. The carpet looks fine.  The original Cabrio top is also in average condition with no leaks but there are a couple of patches on it....It looks ok but it might need replacement down the road since it's 20+ year-old.

Big brakes and upgraded suspension is carried over from the Porsche 944 Turbo and the 17" Upgraded wheels and HUGE rear tires made this Porsche S2 stand out anywhere you go. People take photos and ask what kind of Porsche this is!!!
Not many of them around and certainly NONE looking this good.....

Aren't you tired of seeing Porsche Boxters everywhere you look???

Get it and drive something unique with timeless styling and GREAT LOOKS.....

As with all vehicles sold on eBay, there is NO WARRANTY and NO REFUNDS.....A $500 deposit is due immediately via PayPal  and the balance due within 7 days in the form of Bank Certified funds or Wire transfer.   Any other arrangement
needs to be discussed and agreed upon.

This 1991 Porsche 944 S2 Cabrio will be sold AS IS and where is.

Vehicle is located in POUGHKEEPSIE   NY  12603

It's a current driver on sunny days so the mileage will be higher at pickup time.

NO DELIVERY   -  PICKUP ONLY in NY after payment has been made in full....

DP Motorsport tries to turn a vintage Porsche 911 into a sleeper

Tue, 20 Aug 2013

Once you get past the fact that it's hard to call a car a sleeper when it has race-product stickers on its quarter panel, and the script across the back panel reads "Porsche 911 3.2 Sleeper," it's fun to imagine what this car can do. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Porsche 911, Germany's DP Motorsport took a model from 1986, stripped it of everything - including the paint and undercoating - then replaced everything with lightweight and race-ready parts.
In went race cams and ported cylinder heads, a lightweight flywheel, an RSR titanium racing exhaust, 935-style lollipop seats and RSR carpeting, a lightweight battery, perforated and galvanized hinges and brackets, hardened perspex windows. The 3.2-liter engine puts out 270 horsepower - 70 hp above the stock 911 on sale here in 1986 - and 226 pound-feet of torque through a limited slip differential to staggered wheels. The exterior color is metallic rock-green lacquer.
If you want one, $120,00 is where the part starts, but DP Motorsport says it offers the parts individually if you don't need your vintage Porsche to sleep this hard. On a side note, for a chucklesome journey back in time, check out this review of the 1986 911 that gets things going with this line: "First off, the Porsche 911 is very expensive - how does about 40 thou grab you?" Back on topic, there's a press release below that tells the rest of the story of the 3.2 Sleeper.

Porsche offering short-term loans to Macan waitlisters

Wed, 02 Jul 2014

Walk into a Porsche dealer today, place an order for a Macan and you'll be looking at a waiting period of six months or more before you can expect delivery. That may be common enough for high-end European automakers, but the Macan is meant to lure new buyers to the brand, and the waitlist could be enough to deter them from sticking around.
The solution? Offer to lease them a Boxster or Cayman until their new Macan arrives. Shorter in term that the usual new-car lease, these six-month terms are designed to keep buyers from turning their backs, all the while experiencing the kind of vehicle Porsche does best.
Of course it doesn't hurt that the dealer then gets a used sports car to sell again once the short-term lease is up. And we wouldn't be surprised to see some buyers asking to hold on to their mid-engined sports car for a little longer, either.

Are you the next Porsche 911 GT3 RS or GT2?

Thu, 17 Apr 2014

Porsche typically keeps to a suitably fast schedule when it comes to rolling out increasingly hard-core performance versions of the 911. After the 997 Carrera debuted in 2004, the GT3 version followed in 2006, and by the end of the 2007, Porsche had rolled out both the GT3 RS and GT2 versions. Then the facelifted 997.5 came out in 2008 and it was back to the start: the GT3 came in 2009, the GT3 RS and GT2 RS in 2010, and the GT3 RS 4.0 in 2011. But things have slowed down some with the latest 991 generation.
The new Carrera came in 2011 and the GT3 followed in 2012. By recent history's example, we should have at least two more hardcore models by now, but we don't. Maybe the engineers in Zuffenhausen have had their hands full fixing the spontaneous-combustion issues with the existing GT3, or maybe their attentions have been focused elsewhere altogether. But if these spy shots are anything to go by, it seems like they're back on the job.
Now we don't know if this prototype foreshadows a new GT3 RS or a GT2, but it sure looks more hard-core than the existing GT3 that many purists have derided as too soft, what with its automatic transmission and four-wheel steering.
