1990 Porsche 944 S2 Cabriolet 2-door 3.0l - 33k Original Miles, Meticulous Owner on 2040-cars

I am a private owner who has taken exceptional care of this vehicle from the moment that I purchased it ten years ago from the original Porsche dealer who sold it new.
This dealer was very familiar with the family who ordered it, they remembered the dealer trade that they made to acquire it, had recently reacquired it through a trade on a new Porsche, and then proceeded to print out the entire maintenance history before I agreed to purchase it. I have owned it ever since. This Alpine white on dark blue cabriolet has only 33,005
miles on the odometer from new and is all original. It has never been
hit, always garaged, never seen rain, and has only been serviced since new by
Porsche dealers (two). All records are available. This 944 drives as new and requires nothing mechanically. Those who are familiar with this rare model will know that there were less than 2000 exported to the U.S. and, I believe that they are ready to appreciate in value. Some of the the attached pictures were taken just before storage for the winter and others were taken earlier today. I took the car for a spin on the first nice day of spring, reluctantly turned it over 33,000 miles and returned it to my garage. I have driven it a grand total of 4,725 miles in ten years, and that includes driving it back from the dealership in Minnesota after purchase (1,056 miles). I am not a dealer and have never sold anything on Ebay previous to this. I am willing to provide every detail, warts and all. The fabric top is wearing out on both sides (see photo) but the electric mechanism operates perfectly. If I reconsider and decide to keep it, I will replace the top this year. The radio stopped working and the A/C is not blowing cold air. The passenger window mechanism works but has gotten clunky. There is a small chip in the windshield which is below the wiper line (was there before I owned it) and a tiny ding in the left rear quarter which can only be seen at the perfect angle. The belts were replaced at 26,880 miles and the tires have lots of tread but are not new. Oh, and one of the windshield washer sprayers seems to be clogged. Can't think of another thing. This 944 is inspected every year by Porsche mechanics at a Porsche dealer. I have all manuals, all the keys, tool kit, air pump, gloves and tire bag, custom car cover, original showroom brochure, and the original window sticker ($50,840 in 1990!). The last time, I had it in for an inspection, a guy followed me out of the dealership and asked, "If you ever want to sell it"...of course, I didn't at that time. I have seen several cars similar to this one advertised on the web by dealers over the years - not sure about all of those. I am sure about this one. Of course, it needs some little adjustments to restore to perfection, but you will not be disappointed. This is the second 944 cab that I have owned. I think the "chopped top" makes it one of the best looking convertibles with the top up that has ever been built. For fun, I included a picture of an ad for the 2009 Hershey PCA Swap Meet (no affiliation) which appeared in Excellence magazine which happened to randomly "highlight" my car (the 944 in the foreground). Porsche 960 could come with quad-turbo flat-eight engine
Thu, 24 Jan 2013Getting a bead on the target that is the so-called Porsche 960 is not easy, as the target keeps moving. First labeled the 960, then the 961, and now back to being called the 960, it is Porsche's take on a supercar specifically aimed at Ferrari - the latest report in Automobile says that Porsche's internal moniker for it is "FeFi," which stands for "Ferrari Fighter." Because it is expected to cost as much as the top-tier V12 Ferrari, Porsche wants the engine solution to justify the price tag. That means, according to author Georg Kacher, a 3.9-liter, quad-turbo flat-eight engine with 650 horsepower.
Last summer, the engine was mooted to be a twin-turbo flat six. A few months later, the rumor was that it would use the 4.6-liter V8 from the 918 and have about 570 horsepower. This new mid-engine configuration would be quite the leap, giving the 960 more power than the 918 Spyder (pictured) and 911 GT2 RS, and utilize other tech features like four adjustable camshafts and "a complex multistage intake manifold." In this scenario, power would be run through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive.
Build materials are still slated to be a hodgepodge of materials including aluminum, steel, carbon fiber, titanium and magnesium. The boosted flat-eight, all-wheel drive and a 3,000-pound weight could get the 960 from zero to 60 miles per hour in just 2.5 seconds. Since it is looking squarely at Ferrari, the idea that the 960 will be a "four-door coupe" can probably be put to rest. For now.
Porsche recalls new 911 models over exhaust pipe issues
Thu, 28 Feb 2013Porsche, though the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, announced a voluntary recall on about 2,200 911 Carrera and Carrera 4 models built during the 2012 and 2013 model years. On cars equipped with the standard exhaust system it was found that the tailpipes could separate from the mufflers and become dangerous road debris; models that added the optional sport exhaust system are not included in this recall.
Affected vehicles were built between March and November of last year, but there have been no reports of the problem on any customer-owned vehicles. Porsche first noticed a cracked tailpipe weld on a test vehicle back in May, and since then has found similar problems on other internally owned vehicles, all with more than 25,000 miles on the clock. To fix the problem, dealers will be replacing the mufflers. Scroll down to read the official notice.
Motor Trend holds World's Greatest Drag Race for the third time

With an airfield and a dozen of the world's finest performance cars at its disposal (oh, and a helicopter), the MT team did what any good group of enthusiasts would do, and tried to figure what car could cover a quarter mile the quickest.
