1987 Porsche 944 2.5l 5 Speed on 2040-cars
Danville, Illinois, United States
Up for sale is my 87 Porsche 944. Car runs good, drove nice, Clutch went out a couple years ago. Cars has been parked since due to cost to replace clutch. Has been started every couple of months and let run for about 1/2 hour. Pulled it in Shop to replace clutch, got transmission out and torque tube is loose, but still in car. Just don't have time or money to mess with it anymore. I have too many projects and this one has to go. Body has some damage. Right rear quarter was damaged when I purchased, was told it was slid into a guardrail. Does not affect drivability, Tires are good, Factory rims still has Porsche locks installed. have the key! has an Alpine alarm installed with 2 remotes. Radio has been removed, but has aftermarket speakers in doors. Factory spare tire and Porsche air compressor and tool kit are still rear hatch. Sunroof bag is in rear also. Damage to front valance was from a truck backing into the car in driveway. Hitch from truck dented it. No room or time, need to have it gone before winter. Good to repair and drive, or part out. Car DOES NOT RUN NOW. Transmission is in rear hatch of car. Starter and bolts are in a box in rear hatch also.

LaFerrari, McLaren P1, Porsche 918 and Agera R take to Assen
Tue, 10 Jun 2014It's the show-down (sort of) we've all been waiting for. The battle of the hybrid hypercars from the performance powerhouses of Europe: Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder. No one publication has managed to get their hands on all three just yet, but this video has - and with a Koenigsegg Agera R thrown in for good measure.
The video was shot by our (unrelated) Dutch compatriots at Autoblog.nl at the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands. The track has played host to Champ Cars and all manner of racing bikes, but this could be the ultimate grid of actual production machinery that's ever lined up behind its start/finish line. Shame the weather was rainy and this unsurpassed array of supercars weren't really racing - more showing off for the crowds. But what a show it was. Scope out the footage in the video below.
Porsche 911 Cabriolet refresh may hide new engine
Wed, 22 Jan 2014If we learned nothing else from our recent frolic through Porsche's secret museum, it's that the automaker goes to incredible lengths to disguise future products during initial testing. Just as a number of cars in that Stuttgart bunker hid the true identity of developmental mules (like the Audi-V8-powered 911), such could very well be the case with these spy shots showing what, on the surface, appears to be simply a facelifted 991 911 Cabriolet.
Similar to what we saw last month on a 911 coupe, this Cabriolet has obvious styling modifications made to the front and rear fascias suggesting that the 911's still-fresh appearance is already set to get a few tweaks. The big news here is at the rear of the car. The additional vents on the lower edge of the fascia and the mocked-up vent above the engine leads our spy photographer to believe that a new engine could be tucked under the body work - likely a smaller-displacement, turbocharged flat-six focusing more on improving fuel efficiency and reducing exhaust emissions rather than performance.
We last heard rumblings of such a detuned 911 back in August, but could this be our first look at said new model? Have a look for yourself, and let us know what you think - either about this mule specifically or the idea of a "green" 911, in Comments below.
Porsche wants you to 3D print your own Cayman
Tue, 10 Dec 2013Have you got access to a 3D printer? Well lucky you, because as we're rapidly learning, the possibilities are virtually endless. And if your tastes lean towards the automotive (as we'd assume they do if you're reading this page), we've got good news.
Porsche has just released 3D printing data for the Cayman S so you can three-dimensionally print out your own and customize to your heart's content. Now Porsche hasn't specified just to what scale the data will allow you to print your Cayman, but we have a feeling that'd mostly be limited by the size of the printer at your disposal. Check it out in the video below and follow the link to the Porsche site to download the file.
