This is an awesome car. Owned, restored and modified by a porsche factory certified master technician. Tastefully done, this car not only looks great but performs and handles incredibly well. Body has been restored and painted in its original guards red color, it was all taken apart for this. The paint job cost $8,500. The black interiors are like new with leather seats in great condition. It has a nice electronic alarm and security system with movement and shock detection. Cd stereo system with a concealed amplifier on the spare tire area.
Some of the upgrades include: koklen short shifter and knob, momo apache steering wheel, fire extinguisher on s/s bracket on passenger side, extra boost and fuel pressure gauges on drivers side a pillar pod (this are not connected), 993 turbo twist wheels with new Michelin pilot sport cup tires, 265/35/18 rear, and 225/40/18 on front , lowered with koni adjustable suspension, front strut tower stress bar.
The engine has been meticulously built and upgraded with Lindsay racing components as: custom hi performance cam lindsay racing intake manifold, fuel pump, regulator and lines, fuel rail with hi volume injectors, cold intake system, high heat silicone hoses for air, intake, turbo and cooling hoses, aluminum expansion tank, aluminum crankcase vent system, three inch polished s/s exhaust system, Lindsay racing dual action waste gate valve with drivers boost control knob on center console, polished hi flow intercooler pipes, and more!
The car has around 125,000 miles on the body before restoration, and about 1,500 miles since all the work done. Again it's an awesome car that you could show, track, race or just drive, have fun and enjoy! I have we'll over $30k invested on this car but I am willing to sell it for a lot less. It would cost more than that to duplicate this today.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask, (585)455-2615, Ray.

Porsche 911 with VW turbodiesel prepares for LeMons assault

Fri, 21 Mar 2014

LeMons racing is a wonderful example that setting limits can actually breed creativity. The series mandates that all entries must cost $500, not counting safety equipment, and that cap forces teams to be ingenious in how they build a racecar. Take for example this diesel-powered Porsche 911, which its creators have dubbed Ferkel the Nein-11, that will be racing in the Sears Pointless race this weekend in Sonoma, California.
This Frankenstein combines a 911 chassis that was originally bought just for its European powertrain and a Volkswagen TDI diesel engine mounted in the rear. After deciding the shell could still be of some use, the team decided to go racing. "We began brainstorming what replacement drivetrain to use for maximum offense and there was really only one answer: a diesel," said Philipp von Weitershausen, one of the team captains, to Jalopnik. They bought a 1998 Jetta TDI on the cheap and started figuring out a way to hack the engine into the bay. To pay respect to the donor, the VW's trunk was highly modified (and drilled) and grafted onto the back of Ferkel.
This team isn't a newcomer to LeMons. Its last car was a classic VW Beetle with a Subaru engine and dual controls, named Ferdinand the Bug, which could be driven from the left or right side. It's quite a sight.

Porsche suspends 911 GT3 deliveries amidst fears of spontaneous combustion

Mon, 17 Feb 2014

Seeing pictures of Italian supercars burst into flames by the side of the road, as our compatriots at Axis of Oversteer point out, has become something of a usual sight. But a Porsche? Surely those meticulous German engineers have got that taken care of, right?
Not necessarily. Reports coming in from Europe indicate that no fewer than five 911 GT3 coupes have "spontaneously combusted" in the past few weeks, prompting Porsche to launch an investigation. In the meantime, they've reportedly ceased deliveries of the new GT3 while they try to determine what the problem is and work to rectify it.
We wouldn't be surprised to see a recall issued once the problem is resolved, but for now, we'd encourage existing owners to be extra vigilant behind the wheel - or better yet, leave their cars in the garage for the time being. You wouldn't want to drive a 475-horsepower rear-drive sports car through a Polar Vortex, anyway, right?

Mark Webber treats Maria Sharapova to a Porsche 918 Spyder joyride

Tue, 29 Apr 2014

We don't much like Mark Webber right now. Part of being a racing driver is dealing with promotional stuff. It's not hard to find a driver that can't stand all this nonsense, whether it be promoting a product, meeting investors or attending some obscure event. Even a driver of Webber's caliber - a former Formula One driver for Red Bull Racing and a member of Porsche's factory Le Mans team - has to serve his time at the promo events.
Somehow, though, we don't think the Aussie driver minds this particular promo detail. In the video below, Webber attends the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart. He then takes tennis superstar Maria Sharapova out for a spin behind the wheel of the Porsche 918 Spyder. The level of jealousy at the Autoblog office is palpable.
Take a look below for the video. And as we're super jealous of Mr. Webber, hop into Comments and caption the above photo based on what you think he's saying to Maria. Bonus points if you can work "vegemite" into the caption.
