Collector QUALITY. This car is ALL ORIGINAL. I am only the second owner of this beauty !! The original owner was the wife of my little-league baseball coach. She drove it in the summer to go to the ice cream store. I bought it and take the kids to Dairy Queen in it. This car is like new ! Always garaged, never left outside overnight. Never driven in the rain or snow. Power windows, power-assisted rack + pinion steering, air conditioning, sun-roof, alloy wheels, Blaupunkt AM-FM stereo, automatic transmission so anybody can easily enjoy driving this Porsche. Full-body custom-quilted cover by Porsche (kept on car over the winter while in a garage with radiant-heated floors set at 60 degrees. Black front-end bra by Porsche that allows bug-eye headlights to pop-up. Porsche logo floor mats. Classic Porsche Red paint, and black leather interior. Interior looks and leather (still smells like the cows) brand new. New premium 225/60/15 Michelin Pilot Exalto tires. German quality and performance throughout. Built in Viper radar detector. And, only 20,0065 miles since 1986 !!! I have additional pictures that were too large to upload but which I can e-mail upon request. I will post them when I figure out how to reduce the size of the electronic/digital files. I can be reached for questions via e-mail at deacon@deacon.pro or you may call my cell at 440-336-2200. Ask for Bob.
Here is a review from Car + Driver magazine:
Of course, the 944 Turbo is fun, fast, and frightfully expensive. Attacking that list in reverse order, the price just barely clears our $30,000 ceiling, a stretch of your right leg will carry you to 157 mph, and the only activities that are more entertaining than driving this car demand a live partner.
Where does this leave the regular Non-Turbo 944 Base Coupe? (like the one I'm selling here). The truth of the matter is that most of us at Car and Driver prefer it to the Turbo for everything but flat-out, high-speed, get-me-to-the-church-on-time pursuits. The standard 944 has better throttle response and its steering feels sharper on center.
Furthermore, the normally aspirated 944 is about the best sports-car value going. This is more true than ever for 1986, because Porsche has seen fit to give this machine several new suspension components and a new instrument panel (both of which were developed for the Turbo) without raising the price a smidgen. All of which makes one wonder what exactly Porsche has in mind for next year.

Jay Leno welcomes finely rebuilt Porsche 356 into his garage
Wed, 15 Jan 2014Not a month after the Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer visited Jay Leno's garage, another artfully restored Porsche has rolled in. This time it's a 1957 Porsche 356A Outlaw, the "outlaw" moniker referring to Porsches that have been restored outside the bounds of period-correct orthodoxy.
This 356A was literally done from the ground up by Michigander Chuck Olenyk, the floor of the car having fallen apart so badly that he couldn't remove the roof at first since it was holding the vehicle together. Olenyk said that of the 2000 hours over seven years that he spent restoring the car, 500 were spent just on repairing the rust. That's undoubtedly some of the reason why when he tried to sell the unrestored car as a roller in the nineties for $1,000, no one would take it off his hands.
Olenyk fitted a mildly tuned engine from a Porsche 912, the transmission from a 356B, the brakes from a 356C, Fuchs mags and a modified replicar Speedster roof from Intermecchnica. It lacks nothing even with just 115 horsepower, and it adds to that with charm and aural appeal. You can see and hear the full story in the video below.
How Porsche got Patrick Dempsey into the driver's seat for Le Mans
Tue, 27 Aug 2013How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice, practice, practice. Ask Patrick Dempsey and he'll likely tell you the same secret for landing a role on a hit TV show or, for that matter, driving a Porsche in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
That's because, like McQueen and Newman, Dempsey has earned his place in that rarified field of actors who also race. He's competed in Baja and Grand-Am, co-owns an IndyCar team, and this year returned to Le Mans where he and his teammates Joe Foster and Patrick Long finished fourth in the GTE-Am class behind the wheel of their Porsche 911 RSR.
It's a grueling race, and the fluid transition between drivers behind the wheel is a key element to success. Check out the satirical video below to see how Dempsey and company got ready.
Porsche 918 Spyder pre-production version in all its almost-done glory
Sun, 18 Aug 2013Porsche continues the long tease of its upcoming 918 Spyder, with the latest instantiation here at the Pebble Beach Concours, with the car presented in pre-production form to the throngs on the golf course.
Just a few days ago Porsche dropped an image of the car on its official Twitter feed. True to that leak, this 918 looks damn near what we expect the full customer version to be when it is officially debuted in Frankfurt. The neon-green brake calipers are items new to this version of the 918, and seem to be an identical color to those found on the Panamera S E-Hybrid.
When it shows up as a drivable piece, expect the Porsche supercar, with its gasoline-electric drivetrain, to be pretty insane. Horsepower in excess of 800 ponies will be available with a toe-tap, while the price of entry is expected to come within shouting distance of $850,000. A good deal for Porsche to bring the thing to Pebble then, where buyers with that kind of cash are think on the ground (and most likely wearing sherbet-colored trousers).
