Up for sale is a beautiful 1987 Porsche 911 Turbo (a.k.a. 930 Turbo).
The interior is stock and well-kept, with little wear-and-tear for its age. The Guards' Red exterior paint
is in excellent condition with only minor flaws from ordinary road use. The car has been garage-kept and tended in
a heated garage. It comes with OEM Fuchs wheels in the original black with machined rims.
The engine has been completely restored by Rothsport, Inc., including a full tear-down and rebuild. Approximate
engine output is 325 horsepower. The stock 4-speed Porsche gearbox was retained. The car's suspension was
completely rebuilt and replaced for competition use, including a 1-inch drop and high-performance shock absorbers
and springs. The exhaust has been replaced by a custom titanium dual-outlet system by B&B Exhaust.
The 930 Turbo was a tour-de-force when it was released, and the Turbo name has consistently been applied only to
the highest-performing variants of the 911 ever since. While later models eventually softened and became more akin
to grand tourers, the original 930 was a knife-edged competition machine -- lightweight, powerful, and terrifyingly
fast. Armed with engine, suspension, and braking technology from Porsche's most competitive and world-beating
prototype race cars, the 930 set the standard for sports cars around the world.
The 911 of the late 1980s represents a sort of purity of purpose for the sporting car enthusiast, a perfect balance
of raw prowess and refinement, and as such is extremely desirable. This 911 Turbo is the ultimate example of the
breed, an incredible specimen of a car that is sure to only become more valuable as they become more rare over
time.

Porsche Cayman gets a new face

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

We've already seen photos of the facelifted Porsche Boxster out testing, but we're now seeing these same changes making their way onto the hardtop Cayman coupe. Cosmetically, the next round of Porsche's smallest sports cars isn't vastly different, with redesigned headlamps, LED running lights (like its big brother, the 911), and new taillamps that actually aren't visible on the prototype seen here.
The big news for the updated Boxster/Cayman range is the long-rumored four-cylinder engine. Recent reports suggest we could see four-pots with displacements of 1.6, 2.0, or 2.5 liters, and with output ratings as high as 360 horsepower. Of course, these new four-cylinder mills would be both turbocharged and direct-injected.
It's unclear whether or not the six-cylinder engine range will also be updated when this new Cayman comes to market. In any case, we expect to see it bow in the relatively near future. Stay tuned.

Porsche goes karting in its Cayman GTS

Sun, 03 Aug 2014

Think Mini is the king of Go-Kart Handling[TM]? Well, you might be mistaken, as Porsche proves here it's fully capable of delivering a driving experience that'd fit in quite nicely on a go-kart track.
Using a new and very red Cayman GTS, the Stuttgart-based manufacturer invades a kart track in northern Italy and sets the mid-engined sports car loose to slip, slide and zip its way around the circuit. As far as videos for Sunday evening go, this one ticks all the boxes.
Take a look.

Porsche 911 GT3 wows the crowds in Geneva

Mon, 04 Mar 2013

Porsche has a long and storied history of taking its range-topping 911 sportscar racing, with an enviable record of achievements in tow. The latest machine with which the automaker will take to the track can be seen above: the fifth-generation 2014 911 GT3.
With 475 horsepower strumming through the 3.8-liter six-cylinder boxer engine, this is the pinnacle of naturally aspirated performance from Porsche. It can go from 0 to 60 in just 3.3 seconds, hit a top speed of 195 miles per hour and has lapped the Nürburgring Nordschleife in less than seven and a half minutes.
A dual-clutch PDK transmission (no standard manual gearbox will be offered) with shorter gearing than lesser 911 models sends power to the rear wheels. Providing forward motion isn't the only thing those rear wheels will be doing - Porsche says the 2014 911 GT3 is fitted with the manufacturer's first active rear-wheel steering.
