Very clean 1986 Porsche 930 turbo with extensive work performed over the past year. I bought the car after it was traded in at a local Lambo dealership; prior owner had the car for about 20 years in the Palmdale area, unfortunately no records but so much work has been done since then hopefully that is not a concern.

Exterior is very clean with mostly original paint in excellent condition. The car is very dry (most of life spent in California high desert) and solid. Interior is also very clean; dash has been re-covered in leather and headliner replaced and new windshield with seals; original sport seats show some expected wear but very sound. All electrics work including sunroof and clock however stereo is not hooked up; all wiring is in place but speakers and stereo are the units that came with the car and are old - non original. The A/C is also not hooked up, compressor is in place (see photos) and functional. The AC  was not functional when I bought the car and having come from mainly older Porsches it didn't seem a priority to me. The AC can be made functional prior to a sale. Majority of work performed was on the mechanical side and included a top end rebuild and many other items, all documented. I do want to be clear that this was not a complete rebuild and did not include repairing a very minor leak (does not drip) at seal #8, fairly common on these cars. BBS 2 piece wheels and new tires with 2k miles on them. All in all I have spent over $17k over the past 15 months and the car is now a very clean, strong performing and reliable car.

$1,000 deposit required within 48 hours, will assist with transporting the car.

Please feel free to contact me for additional information, or local viewing of the car. Please do not be offended if I check you out before handing over the keys for a joy-ride....:)

Porsche's 959 is still poster-worthy after all these years

Thu, 24 Jul 2014

Today, we have the Porsche 918 Spyder. Before that, there was the Carrera GT. While both of those cars are dramatic departures from the traditional, rear-engine Porsche formula, they owe their very existence to another wild child of the iconic German brand - the 959.
Like so many of the great performance cars of yesteryear, the 959 was a homologation special, built just so Porsche could go racing in the clinically insane Group B rally series. Fewer than 400 959s hit the streets, but those that did were some of the most advanced cars of the 1980s. A rear-mounted, twin-turbocharged flat-six sent its power through a still-rare all-wheel-drive system, creating a race-inspired rocket that was, for a short time, the fastest production car on the planet.
Xcar has the story of the 959, from its inception to its conquest of the Paris-Dakar rally, which is interspersed with a drive of the legendary coupe. Scroll down for the full video.

Robb Report chooses Porsche 911 as its Car of the Year

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

Robb Report has picked the seventh-generation Porsche 911 Carrera S as its 2013 Car of the Year, saying the two-door captivated its judges with "agility, driving dynamics and balance." The German coupe bested 12 others who were also in the running - the impressive list of nominees included the BMW M5, Audi S8, Ferrari FF, Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG and the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse.
Judging involved more than just throwing darts at pictures on the wall, as the publication enlisted a panel of automotive experts to test drive each vehicle for close evaluation. The panelists included 100 members of the Robb Report Club (comprised of top corporate executives and influential readers), Editor-in-Chief Brett Anderson and automotive consultant Robert Ross. Full results of the competition will be revealed in the luxury magazine's March issue, hitting newsstands in about a week. For more information, visit Robb Report online or check out the full press release from Porsche below.

2014 Porsche Panamera Turbo S is a 911 Turbo for the family man

Thu, 21 Nov 2013

In the event that the Porsche Panamera Turbo's 520 horsepower and 189-mile-per-hour top speed aren't enough to sate the appetite of the speed freak, Porsche has just given the auto show debut to the faster, more powerful Panamera Turbo S.
With 570 horsepower being pumped from a 4.8-liter, twin-turbocharged V8, the Panamera Turbo S promises even faster acceleration, hitting 60 mph in 3.6 seconds, a 0.3-second improvement over the standard Turbo. The top speed, meanwhile, climbs to 192 mph, which is kind of ridiculous for a car with four doors and a trunk.
Other enhancements that come with this Panamera's extra syllable include carbon-ceramic brakes and the entirety of Porsche's active chassis systems, including Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control and Porsche Active Suspension Management. The performance goodies come standard, but that doesn't mean the Panamera Turbo S is cheap.
