Up for sale is my 1988 Porsche 928 S4 with brand new interior (red leather seats with black trim), new battery, new timing belt, new water pump, engine overhaul - all original Porsche parts less than 1,500 miles. Clutch and bell housing are directly from Porsche in Germany and brand new as well - less than 1,000 miles on them. All the work was done by a Porsche certified 928 specialist locally and all paperwork and warranties come with the car. The Dunlop Direzza tires are brand new and have less than 2,000 miles on them (warranty from discount tire) - sizes are 275/35 18 in the back and 225/40 18 in the front. Most of the car and engine has a less than 2,000 miles on it (as described above) and the chassis has approximately 138,500 miles original on it. This car is factory super fast. The black exterior paint is 9/10 - considering the age of the car (1988) it should be rated a 10/10. I currently own 3 of these and I am selling two. I have come to learn all of the things that can be annoying to fix or live with on these. As for this 928 - everything works - sunroof, back wiper, rear defrost, air condition front and back, original Blaupunkt radio etc. The wheels are after market and the car came with them so I didn't replace them. Not my favorite but a head turner for sure. This car is definitely a daily driver. It likes to be driven. Very reasonable reserve at cost or choose buy it now to get it off the market. Happy bidding.
THIS CAR HAS AN AUTOCHECK SCORE OF 54 - that's above the range of expectation for this vehicle and it qualifies for BUY BACK INSURANCE according the Autocheck report.

A few pre-race notes and a lot of photos from the 24 Hours of Le Mans
Sat, 14 Jun 2014The 82nd running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is on.
Audi has won 12 of the last 15 events, the scion of Auto Union is trying to make it 13 this year. To do so, it will have to overcome a situation faced only three other times during its dominance of La Sarthe: underdog status. Toyota has won the first two races of the year and claimed pole for this race, the rumor being that this year it's Toyota's race to lose.
And then there's Porsche. It's been 16 years since the Stuttgart brand raced on the top rung at Le Mans, three years years since it announced its return, just a year since it acquired Mark Webber in a signing that wasn't subtle and a few months since we got eyes on the 919 Hybrid.
Why you must buy an air-cooled Porsche 911 now
Fri, 14 Feb 2014"Because" might be a good response to our headline, but as a vintage (purists might call 'proper') Porsche 911 is hardly cheap, we suspect you'll need a better explanation than that. Enter Drive editor Mike Spinelli.
Spinelli sits down with Zac Moseley and Mick Prichinello from Classic Car Club Manhattan to first explain why the market for old, air-cooled 911s has gotten so hot over the past few years, and to discuss if it's a bubble that's about to burst. Following that, this video is really is just three guys sitting around talking about old Porsches for 35 minutes. Which, you know, we're pretty onboard with.

Driving 50 years of Porsche 911 history
Fri, 06 Sep 2013Raiding The Porsche Museum For A Fun Track Day
It seems everyone is celebrating anniversaries this year: it's Aston's hundredth, Lamborghini's fiftieth, Ford Mustang's fiftieth, Chevy Corvette's sixtieth - and Tesla just turned ten or something. It's been a little out of hand, frankly, all these forced marketing festivities, but if we had to pick one milestone to really celebrate hard and party all night, the Porsche 911 would be at the top of our list.
Get ready for a major 911 blowout bash at next week's Frankfurt Motor Show. It was on September 12 back in 1963 at this very show where Porsche unveiled its "901" painted in a rather boring shade of beige. Though drably finished, the car caused a worldwide frenzy in the budding German sports car sphere.
