1987 Porsche 928 S4 Coupe 2-door 5.0l on 2040-cars
Los Lunas, New Mexico, United States
I have owned this car about 5 years and it drives beautifully, it accelerates very quickly. The exterior and interior are in good shape. Unfortunately I do not use the car very often. It is always kept in a garage. The car is sold as is with no warranties. I recommend that you look at the car and take it for a spin. I have taken the car on road trips and is is very reliable. It is a head turner. I tried to restore this and put about $7000. worth of new parts and replaced the transaxle. This is a no reserve sale and if it does not sell I will keep it in my garage until my son's take an interest in it. I am the third owner, it came from Louisiana. It was involved in an accident in Louisiana and the front bumper was damaged. I have had the engine checked out and it is very strong. I am 70 years old and I do not have time to continue the restoration. I would like it to find a new home. I live in New Mexico andnever drive it in the rain. It has almost new tires and the engine has been gone over it by a Porsche mechanic. The car should be picked up but I can assist in finding someone to ship it for you. I purchased the title as a clear title, the owner had an accident in Louisiana and they issued him a salvage title, he evidently went into to Louisiana MVD and was issued a new title as clear. He registered the car in New Mexico and it has a non-salvage title. The front bumper was damaged and replaced. There was no frame damaged.

Porsche Cayman gets a new face
Fri, 12 Sep 2014We've already seen photos of the facelifted Porsche Boxster out testing, but we're now seeing these same changes making their way onto the hardtop Cayman coupe. Cosmetically, the next round of Porsche's smallest sports cars isn't vastly different, with redesigned headlamps, LED running lights (like its big brother, the 911), and new taillamps that actually aren't visible on the prototype seen here.
The big news for the updated Boxster/Cayman range is the long-rumored four-cylinder engine. Recent reports suggest we could see four-pots with displacements of 1.6, 2.0, or 2.5 liters, and with output ratings as high as 360 horsepower. Of course, these new four-cylinder mills would be both turbocharged and direct-injected.
It's unclear whether or not the six-cylinder engine range will also be updated when this new Cayman comes to market. In any case, we expect to see it bow in the relatively near future. Stay tuned.
NYT profiles Blue Nelson, a reclusive and interesting CA car collector
Thu, 25 Sep 2014If it weren't for his Dale Earnhardt Sr. looks, Blue Nelson could be one one of those soft-spoken, nondescript guys whom you meet briefly and never learn much more about. However, as The New York Times shows in a recent profile and video, behind closed doors, Nelson keeps a fascinatingly eclectic collection of automotive oddities and vintage bicycles.
While his main career is in the movie industry, Nelson's other job is as a car hunter. He takes on clients searching for a specific model and helps them find and restore the dream vehicle that they're after. Hiring him takes some dedication, though, because Nelson doesn't advertise his services. "If people want to find me, they know how to find me," he says in the video.
Beyond being an automotive private detective, Nelson has a fantastically varied collection of vehicles of his own. He likes to have models that people don't usually see, and his garage holds a classic Chrysler New Yorker and an extremely rare Rometsch convertible. Although, the one that means the most to him is the 1962 Porsche 356 convertible that Blue came home in as a baby. Check out the video to learn more about Nelson and his philosophy about forming a bond with a car.
Paul Walker's accident due to 'speed, and speed alone'
Thu, 19 Dec 2013Following an investigation into the crash that killed Fast and Furious star Paul Walker and driver Roger Rodas, an unnamed law enforcement source told the Associated Press that there were no signs of mechanical failure on the Porsche Carrera GT that was destroyed in the accident.
The report from The Huffington Post claims the officer in question blamed "speed, and speed alone" in the fatal accident. The same report ruled out the presence of debris in the road, which may have caused Rodas to lose control of the V10-powered super car.
Engineers from Porsche are traveling to California to investigate the accident with the help of the Carrera GT's on-board data recorder. Until then, investigators won't speculate on the car's speed at the time of the wreck.
