1987 Porsche 928 S4 Coupe 2-door 5.0l on 2040-cars
Laurel, Montana, United States
I've had this car for about 2 years now. I got the car in rough to average condition for a fair price. I spent about a year fixing up all of its many issues. I have full documentation and plenty of pictures to show the work i performed over time. I'm an ASE certified tech that does his own maintenance so no worries about faulty work should arise. The exterior paint shines and looks great, however there is a large blemish (cracked paint) on the rear left tail light, (a result of a previous owner), and some small blemishes on the passenger door ( my own doing, on accident of course.) As far as what has been refreshed and rebuilt, some of the main accomplishments have been the 4 speed auto trans-axle has been swapped out with a rebuilt unit (has about 5000 miles on it). The brakes have been completely refreshed, all the way from a new master cylinder to completely rebuilt calipers all the way around, accompanied by drilled and slotted rotors. The park brake shoes have even been replaced. I've replaced and cleaned up a lot of components to give the underside a brand new look. I've installed solid aluminum steering rack bushings for a sportier and more responsive turning experience. I've also installed a high performance X-pipe (supplied by 928 Motorsports) and have no catalytic converters; so if you plan on buying this be sure to plan on getting those or checking the laws in your area. I've replaced all the vacuum lines with silicone lines. For those who know of it, i have the Porken Klamp installed on the drive line at the fly wheel (this ensures no drive-line creep will press on the crank shaft and wear the thrust bearing, a common issue with this model). I've done a little custom upgrade to the interior for a more modern look. This includes an aftermarket MoMo Italy steering wheel, a few polished aluminum pieces, a new leather t-shifter hand with new aftermarket leather boot, and a brand new sound system that includes 6 speakers and one 12" sub-woofer (sub-woofer supplied with its own amp, which is a part of a presentable box custom made with leather wrap to match the interior.) The sound system is controlled and powered by a Kvt-514 head unit with a 7" pop-out display and I-pod, DVD, or Sirius satellite radio capabilities (also navigation.) I've also converted all interior lights to LED's. This includes all courtesy lighting and module lighting (HVAC, Central warning, instrument cluster, and Pod bezels.) The dash has cracks but has a custom cover to hide them. The passenger and driver seats both function properly, but the driver seat has normal wear due to people getting in and out of the car. Rear tires and shock-absorbers have been replaced very recently. The engine has had some custom paint work done to it (refer to picture) along with a flawless silicone belly pan gasket that has been guaranteed to last the life of the car. I have many parts that go to the car (stock steering wheel, a few new parts I haven't got around to installing, and the Porken Lift-bars) that i will be adding to this sale; If i don't have the car then I have no use for these parts. The car sits on stock 16" wheels, and for the most part really is stock. So that leaves any room for someone to change it to their liking. I'm interested in selling because i'd like to try a 911 out for a while.

Porsche reveals new LMP1 racecar testing ahead of 2014 Le Mans debut
Wed, 12 Jun 2013Getting ready for its triumphant return to the premier racing class of Le Mans, Porsche has released a handful of images showing its new LMP1 racecar testing. Porsche hasn't run a car in the Prototype class at 24 Hours of Le Mans since 2009, but this racecar - still veiled in secrecy - will be expected to battle against the Audi and Toyota LMP1 Prototypes to help bring Porsche its 17th Le Mans victory.
Aside from knowing that it will use a hybrid powertrain to meet LMP1 rules, there are no other details about the car... including its name or potential sponsors. In the meantime, Porsche has set up a microsite, called Mission 2014, to share its extensive history racing at Le Mans. Also, be sure to check out some of the past videos Porsche has released as it gears up for its reborn LMP1 program.
Porsche 918 Spyder could lap the 'Ring even quicker [w/video]
Mon, 16 Sep 2013Porsche had a lot to crow about at the Frankfurt Motor Show last week. Not only did it debut the new 50 Years edition and Turbo versions of the 911 and the new hybrid and diesel versions of the Panamera, but while unveiling the final production version of the new 918 Spyder, it revealed the record lap it set around the Nürburgring.
The 918 Spyder's 6:57 lap time makes it the fastest street-legal production car ever to lap the Nordschleife and the first to break the seven-minute barrier. But the driver who clocked the time thinks it can go even faster.
That driver was Marc Lieb, who has won the Nürburgring 24-hour race four times, making him something of an expert on the subject. In speaking with Australia's Drive TV, Lieb suggested that they could get even more out of the car, as you can hear for yourself in the video below.
A closer look at the 2015 Porsche Macan
Wed, 27 Nov 2013
He assured us that "this is a sports car."
Porsche took the wraps off its all-new 2015 Macan at the LA Auto Show last week, and while it's easy to write it off as just a badge-engineered version of the Audi Q5, you'd be very, very wrong. For starters, 75 percent of the car's platform was re-engineered by the Porsche team, and with a choice of two twin-turbocharged engines, the Macan should absolutely live up to the brand's pedigree.
