1979 Porsche 928 body, drive train and transmission. There is no motor. VIN number is 10 characters long. This was standard practice for Porsche before 1981. Front and rear bumpers complete with driving and tail lights. Front and rear suspension, transmission and torque tube complete. Gas tank is mounted to body. Condition cannot be assessed without removing. No hood. Driver and passenger doors with mirrors and all handles (interior and exterior). Doors do not have window regulators, any electronics, or interior door panels. FRONT WINDSHIELD is still on vehicle AND undamaged. Windshield is only glass in or on vehicle. Wiper motor, brake booster, brake master cylinder, headight motor, bare steering column w/key lock cylinder and key, shifter, rear hatch (no glass), front suspension and steering components intact. Porsche calls in The Committee for Boxster and Cayman GTS
Thu, 20 Mar 2014Porsche is set to offer up the very first GTS variants of its more affordable Boxster convertibles and Cayman coupes. This is very good news for enthusiasts. Aside from our original post announcing the hotted up models, though, Porsche hasn't given us much to go on.
And you know what? This video isn't much of help either. It's called The Committee, and we're guessing it's meant to highlight the lengths that Porsche went to in designing what are essentially sportier trim levels for its two most affordable entries. Still, it's a stylized and entertaining video with a few entertaining driving scenes scattered throughout, and it gives just a small glimpse of Porsche's view of the vaunted GTS badge.

Meet the man that discovered and restored the oldest existing Porsche
Tue, 11 Mar 2014Luciano Rupolo is an absolutely fascinating gentleman. He was born in France but spent nearly his entire life in Italy as an auto mechanic running his own shop. His grandfather and father instilled a love of sports cars in him that he carried on by historic racing in Italy for decades. He saw his life-long automotive passion repaid when he found and restored the car that might have been the first Porsche registered for the road.
You can spot in his garage a split-window Corvette, Ferrari 250 GTE and other exotics, but Rupolo's most interesting automotive story concerns his Iso Grifo Competizione (pictured above). The sports coupe was found in the Canary Islands as little more than a shell, but Rupolo got help from a prestigious source for its restoration. The result is a motoring masterpiece.

Porsche in Paul Walker fatal accident was traveling over 100 mph before crash
Fri, 03 Jan 2014The Porsche Carrera GT involved in the November crash that killed Fast and Furious star Paul Walker and racer Roger Rodas was traveling at speeds above 100 miles per hour before Rodas lost control for "unknown reasons," according to a report from the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office that has been acquired by The Hollywood Reporter.
Once control was lost, the Porsche spun, hit a curb and then impacted a tree and a light post, then it spun 180 degrees and hit another tree before erupting in flames, the report said. Neither Walker nor Rodas were under the influence of any drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident, according to toxicology reports conducted by the coroner.
As for the future of the Fast and Furious franchise, a separate by The Hollywood Reporter claims director James Wan, writer Chris Morgan and Universal Studios will move forward with the seventh installment in the franchise, which was only partially completed when Walker was killed.
