Due to a fraudulent bidder I have to relist the beautifully modified 928.
Features: The exterior has been coverted to a wide body with rear wing. The paint is new and there are no dings or dents. With the 18" wheels has an excellent profile and stance. The vehicle has just had some extensive repairs - new water pump, new timing belt, the injectors and injector body were thoroughly cleaned and serviced, new fuel pump, all fluids were replaced as well as fuel filter, oil filter and air filter; the seat motors were replaced, seat switches replaced dash light wiring replaced along with switch, hood cable replaced, the wirng harness and fuse box just replaced, new battery, new expansion bottle.
There still needs to be work on the interior. The rear speakers need to be replaced along with a box/housing. The wiring is there but someone stole the speakers! The interior tail light (upper window version)needs to be replaced. The spare tire is missing. There are 2 (only 2 small damaged area to the front spoiler. If sold locally, my repair shop will fix (since they did the damage). The side mirrors don't move electrically but it may be the switch. Looks like the fan switch and air conditioning switch will need to be replaced. The air conditioner is in good condition and is charged. I also have a new dashboard cover and extra power steering pump. No problems with the one in place now. I thought it needed it but was wrong! I will also give the buyer the original set of 16" slotted wheels if they want them.

On Dec-21-12 at 19:04:52 PST, seller added the following information:
I was mistaken about the engine displacement. It is actually a 4.5 liter v8. It is the original motor. I spoke with my mechanic and he explained it to me. We notice some small cracks in the expansion bottle for the coolant and I had him replace it.

After months of teasing with camouflaged testers, Porsche has finally unveiled its prototype entry for the 2014 World Endurance Championship, the 919 Hybrid. Porsche, you may recall, hasn't had campaigned a factory team at Le Mans in years, so the 919 is nothing less than their recommitment to endurance racing.

Combining a 2.0-liter V4 (yes, a V4) that revs to 9,000 rpm, the 919 produces around 500 horsepower with a pair of energy recovery systems. The first system recovers the heat energy from exhaust gasses as they pass through an electrical generator, while the second system is a bit more familiar. Using a setup similar to what is found on the production 918 Spyder, a generator on the front axle recovers kinetic energy from the brakes, which is subsequently stored in a battery system. That power can then be sent to the front wheels at the driver's command, effectively turning the 919 into an all-wheel-drive racecar.
Despite these various forms of motivation, Porsche doesn't claim to be seeking outright power supremacy, with Chairman Matthias Müller saying, "In 2014, it will not be the fastest car that wins the World Endurance Championship series and the 24 hours of Le Mans, rather it will be the car that goes the furthest with a defined amount of energy. And it is precisely this challenge that carmakers must overcome. The 919 Hybrid is our fastest mobile research laboratory and the most complex race car that Porsche has ever built."

In the interest of full disclosure and a bit of bloodletting, allow me to admit that while I've always coveted the Porsche Boxster and its hard-hatted Cayman cousin, I've never really warmed to them visually. They've always had a certain push-me, pull-you, can't-decide-which-way-they're-going aesthetic that I've never really wrapped my head around. Porsche achieved the same thing with the original 550 Spyder's overturned bathtub bodyshell that would come to inspire the Boxster, but somehow that classic's even more symmetrical nature works for me. Fast-forward to this third generation, and at least for this enthusiast, Porsche's manchild has well and truly come of age as a design.
It's all there - a piercing stare thanks to squircle headlamps inspired by the 918 Spyder hypercar, newfound directional thrust afforded by a longer wheelbase and elongated greenhouse, and muscular rear haunches with a wider stance emphasized by larger side ductwork and snubbed overhangs. The body's teardrop shape terminates with an active spoiler that integrates into a gorgeous arc with the taillamps like a budding ducktail nod to 1973 911 Carrera RS. Despite casting a longer shadow than its predecessor, the 2014 Cayman still looks tidily proportioned, smooth and wieldy, the perfect skipping stone to ricochet down a canyon river road.
In this latest video from Drive, Chris Harris asks straight away, "Can you still compare a base Corvette to a Porsche Carerra?" That's an particularly interesting question in this film, as the 911 in question is a 400-horsepower Carrera S model that's been fitted with $60,000 in options. Base price of a Corvette Stingray? $51,995. Harris' tester features an automatic and some other goodies that push it right up to that $60,000 range. So yes, the options on the Porsche cost as much as this entire 460-hp Chevrolet.
Harris stresses that this isn't a full review, but he does exercise both cars in a more composed manner before reverting to his traditionally exuberant driving style. The impressions are, as always, spot on, with Harris favoring the pointy nature and V8 power of the Stingray, while enjoying the gearbox (Porsche's exceptional PDK transmission) and just about everything else on the 911.
Take a look below for the latest video from Drive, and let us know if you agree with Mr. Harris' views on these two sports cars.
