I'm relisting my well preserved, well taken care of,  no nonsense, vintage California Porsche 912 SWB , 5 SPEED, 90HP that's made its way to the east coast over the last few years. She is not a concourse car but a good, reliable, driver quality automobile. She has just been serviced, tuned and is ready for many more FUN miles!!! The car is painted in her correct AGA BLUE. The paint is a 8 out of 10, looks & shines beautifully . She has all her correct RED original interior in excellent shape, except the original dash has a coin size hole by the speaker. The carpets are original, and in good condition, The glass is in excellent condition. No water leaks. Original headliner in great condition for it's age, NO RIPS or tears. The car runs and drives AWESOME!!! I drove it last on a 1500 mile trip with absolutely NO issues. I had to add 1/5 quarts of oil the whole trip. The engine has it's original 90HP engine with dual carbs, aftermarket (expensive in her era) exhaust that runs excellent. The original 5 speed transmission shifts perfect, clutch is good, the almost new tires have 95% tread left and the original wheels are in perfect condition. She has been completely serviced by expert Porsche shop. The brakes and all mechanical & electrical systems work as they should. If I find an original am radio before it's sells I'll include it but it doeas have a first generation cassette, am, fm radio. She shows 57,212, but cannot guarantee it's not on it's second turn, that are going up since I drive heras much as I can

Watch Larry Kosilla resurrect the finish of this barn-find 1966 Porsche 912

Thu, 25 Jul 2013

Larry Kosilla, the founder of the Ammo NYC line of car cleaning products, has his own show YouTube's Drive network - we saw his work before when he gave a Ferrari 288 GTO a two-day detailing job. On this episode, Kosilla gets called in to do his best with a 1966 Porsche 912, a car that was last registered in 1990 and recently found in a barn in Connecticut.
Among the expected dirt and cobwebs, the Irish Green Porsche is also covered what is assumed to be cat fur and "waste." The car is in such delicate condition, however, that Kosilla can't wash it for fear of getting more water in it than on it, so he has to steam and wipe the entire thing down before he begins the paint correction process. In addition to the thorough knowledge of his work and his ability to explain it simply, the episode is captioned with further information one of Porsche's popular but less regarded models, and how Kosilla does what he does.
You'll find a compelling 29 minute masterclass in the video below.

Jay Leno puts carbon fiber wheels to the test on a Porsche 911 GT3 RS

Thu, 04 Sep 2014

Jay Leno's Garage usually focuses on looking at cars new and old, speaking to their owners and then Jay taking a drive to see what he thinks. However, Leno throws his usual shtick to the curb this week to do a full product test of the carbon fiber wheels from a company called Carbon Revolution. If you're not interested in hearing about wheels for 18 minutes, don't worry. They get mounted on a Porsche and are tested back-to-back with stock wheels, and Leno takes the 911 for a track test, too.
While carbon-fiber wheels aren't exactly a new idea, Carbon Revolution's goal is to create a lightweight, one-piece product that can be mass produced. The company even claims that it already has a deal with an OEM automaker to offer them on a vehicle in a few years. The key to the technology is that it doesn't need an expensive autoclave to be made.
In the meantime, the company's carbon fiber wheels are available as an aftermarket option for about $15,000 a set, according to the video. They weigh in at about 15.5 pounds each and offer OEM-levels of stiffness, so they could cut some unsprung mass off of a performance car. Watch here as Jay and his mechanic Bernard lap Willow Springs and give their feedback about what they think of this cutting-edge technology.

Porsche 911 RSR in bizarre, terrifying rally crash

Sun, 22 Sep 2013

As far as rally crashes go, this one is pretty terrifying. At this month's Hellendoorn Rally, Harry Kleinjan failed to negotiate a turn and drove his Porsche 911 RSR straight into a Jersey barrier, flipping the car into the river.
While it's unclear what caused the accident, German Car Scene notes, "We can see his brakes locking up ahead of the impact, which also ripped both driver's side wheels off, so it may be a case of ill-judged late braking, locking brakes or a jammed throttle." Us? We're betting it might have been bad pace notes. Fortunately for Harry and his co-driver, all indications are that no one was hurt. Check out the videos below to see the spectacular crash for yourself.
