A 1968
Porsche 912 Karmann Coupe, burgundy with a black interior, 5 speed gearbox.
110,000 miles on the odometer. The car just came out of a long term ownership.
It was off the road for a while. I was told by the previous owner that the
engine was completely rebuilt some years ago, although I do not have any
records to back up this claim. The front
floors look good but there is rust holes on the rear area including the floors
as you can see in the pictures. There are some rust bubbles by the top of the
drivers’ side fender and the passenger side rear fender. The paint has some
blemishes. Glass is good all the way around. The interior
seems to be all original but there are cracks on the seats and it is showing
its age. 1968 Porsche
912 factory paint code reads 15163-L. This is not only a unique and special
order color for this 912 but is a rare and unique car since Porsche didn't have
a paint code of 15163 in 1968. The COA states that it was Champagne Yellow, a
special ordered paint with paint code 16153. Since this was a special ordered
paint, when they stamped the factory paint plate "kunstharzlack" they
transposed the numbers. This is a unique mistake and one that never seemed to
happen at the Porsche factory nor go un-noticed at the Porsche production
facility. With our research, this seems to be the only car we have found that
has this unique characteristic. You can still see the original Champagne Yellow
color through many spots on the car. Mechanically,
we just got the car running and driving but it is not roadworthy. Comes with spare
tire and jack. An excellent
candidate for cosmetic restoration. These 912 SWB’s are appreciating in value
rapidly. Any questions welcome. For more pictures please visit us at http://mbvintagecars.com/default.php or call Frank Sajjad at 2166452100. (We can help to make arrangements for worldwide shipping.)

Paul Walker's accident due to 'speed, and speed alone'
Thu, 19 Dec 2013Following an investigation into the crash that killed Fast and Furious star Paul Walker and driver Roger Rodas, an unnamed law enforcement source told the Associated Press that there were no signs of mechanical failure on the Porsche Carrera GT that was destroyed in the accident.
The report from The Huffington Post claims the officer in question blamed "speed, and speed alone" in the fatal accident. The same report ruled out the presence of debris in the road, which may have caused Rodas to lose control of the V10-powered super car.
Engineers from Porsche are traveling to California to investigate the accident with the help of the Carrera GT's on-board data recorder. Until then, investigators won't speculate on the car's speed at the time of the wreck.
Jaguar F-Type pitted against Porsche 911 Cabriolet by Tiff Needell
Wed, 24 Apr 2013You knew it wouldn't take long and it looks like EVO is first onto YouTube with a battle between the 2014 Jaguar F-Type and the 2013 Porsche 911. Tiff Needell spends a few laps warming up the tires (read: drifting like mad) in each droptop before getting in a timed run to see who's champion and who's second best.
Before the bell rings, its the Porsche that's got everything to lose, the 50-year-old era-defining sportscar getting on with a 3.4-liter flat-six, 350 horsepower, a seven-speed manual and a 3,197-pound curb weight. Other sportscars, like the F-Type, continue to eye the 911 like a flag atop Everest that they plan to first touch, and then rip from its socket. The mid-trim Jaguar rolls into the contest with a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 with 380 hp, an eight-speed automatic with paddle shifters and a curb weight of 3,521 pounds.
The video below shows you what happens when you let all those numbers fight it out on the same stretch of curvy track. Check it out.
Watch this Koenigsegg CCX hit 211 mph on a runway, outpacing McLaren's P1
Tue, 03 Jun 2014Vmax200 in in England organizes events where those who care to show up with a supercar can run them down the two-mile runway at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground. Evo attended the latest event, bringing an impressively green Lamborghini Aventador to test its girth and gaping vents against other precious metals like the McLaren P1 and F1, Ferrari F12 Berlinetta and Enzo, a Porsche Carrera GT and enough 911 Turbos to start a dealership. Speaking of those Porsches, nine of the top ten slots in the top speed competition are claimed by modified 911 Turbos.
A monochrome Swede ruled them all, though, a black-and-white Koenigsegg CCX setting fire to the speed trap run after run, hitting 211 miles per hour at its quickest. It was followed by, surprise, a 911 GT2 modified by 9E that did 210 mph. You can watch the EVO video below, GT Spirit has a bigger breakdown of the day, and we've included another vid showing the tandem launch of the CCX and McLaren F1.
