Porsche 911 Turbo on 2040-cars
Mission, Texas, United States
Best deal in the country on a car that is a total rocket. 0-60 in a mere 3.7s and the amazing handling these cars are known for. VERY original unmolested southern car in a spectacular head-turning color combination. This coupe is finished in the desirable Macademia Metallic over supple tan leather interior. Nearly 137k MSRP with all the most desired options including: * Bose audio * Full power driver and passenger seating ($1200.00 Adaptive Sport Seating option) * Park Distance Control * Full leather package * Red seat belts * Power spoiler operation * Bi-xenon HID headlamps * Massive Turbo wheels * LED front turn signals * Sports Chrono Package * Porsche Active Suspension Management * Porsche Stability Management * Makassar wood trim on steering wheel and wood trim gear knob/e-brake handle * 480hp Twin Turbocharged engine w/6 speed manual gearbox And much more... This car has also had the antiquated PCM head unit tastefully replaced with a high end Pioneer Navigation head unit integrating perfectly with the Bose system and offering infinitely more sound shaping profiles, a high resolution display, Bluetooth phone and audio streaming and more. Thereby bringing this 2008 in line with the '09 model whose primary improvement was the PCM revision. This is a $1200.00 head unit. Vehicle has just about 64k miles (low for the year, driven daily) with the MAJOR engine service completed at 40k by Harper Porsche in Knoxville, TN who has looked after this car meticulously for the last 4 years. This service included belts, fluid changes, new spark plugs, and filters. DUE TO REPEATED INQUIRIES: 2008 TURBOS DO NOT HAVE A 60K SERVICE. PER PORSCHE'S MAINTENANCE INTERVAL STANDARDS (available as a PDF download from their own website) 2008 911 TURBOS HAVE MAJOR/SPARK PLUG SERVICE AT 40K INTERVALS ONLY. The service will not be due again until approximately 80k. Of course it goes without saying that everything works on the car with cold AC and hot heat. New tires all around. About the only notable wear on the car is some discoloration on the seat-back of the driver side seat. This can be easily re-dyed at an upholstery shop at low cost. If I have this re-dyed myself, *the price will go up*. CLEAN TITLE, ABSOLUTELY NO RUST as this is an all southern car and I HAVE DETECTED NO PAINTWORK anywhere on this superb 911, which also retains all its original glass. Just an all around SOLID driver with a clean southern history. Vehicle includes TWO near flawless keyless entry keys for both driver memories, all books, leather pouch and even the original window sticker listing a $136,225 MSRP.

Porsche slathers Martini livery on 911, Panamera, Macan and Cayenne
Mon, 20 Oct 2014This is how we imagine the conversation went in Porsche's Stuttgart headquarters: "Martini livery. Martini livery all the things." Okay, so maybe not, but that hasn't stopped Porsche from showing off images of its entire lineup bearing the iconic racing livery.
While we aren't sure about the questionably yellow 911 and lime green Macan, the navy blue Cayenne and the white Panamera both look pretty spectacular as they lap about the streets of Sochi, Russia.
As for why the liveried sports cars and crossovers were at the site of the 2014 Winter Olympics, we aren't totally sure. Porsche's Facebook page, where the images first popped up, was really light on details. Whatever the reason, we fully support Porsche doing more with Martini livery. Take a look at the full gallery to see what we mean.
Porsche planning new 911 Speedster as 550 tribute
Tue, 12 Nov 2013Some look at the emergence of a new Porsche 911 and see a car. But to Porsche engineers, it might as well be a reset button. Because every time a new 911 comes out, it sets off a tidal wave of new variants to follow, including convertibles, turbos, targas, GT3s... the works.
The next down the pipeline, though, could be one of the most desirable. That, according to German publication Auto Bild, will be a new 911 Speedster. When it arrives early in 2015, the special roadster will reportedly be limited to just 550 examples in tribute to the original 550 Spyder.
It'll reportedly have hidden door handles, a chopped-down windshield and a fabric top to be used only in case of emergency, manually disappearing below a carbon-fiber cowling. All of which makes it sounds as much like a bigger version of the Boxster Spyder as a successor to the last 911 Speedster (pictured above), and that's no bad thing at all.
Updated J.D. Power APEAL study shines on VW Group, Chevy
Wed, 24 Jul 2013J.D. Power has just revealed the results of its 2013 APEAL Study, which looks at which brands have the most appealing cars based on sales figures, dealer inventory, brand loyalty, transaction and trade-in prices. The study was revamped for 2013, and places a larger focus on the new tech and infotainment options available to customers. All told, study participants gauged their vehicles on 77 different attributes, delivering a score out of a 1,000 points.
The Volkswagen Group had the greatest success of any corporation, topping the APEAL rankings with the Audi Allroad, Porsche Boxster, Porsche Cayenne, VW GTI and Passat. Chevrolet had the highest number of awards for a single brand, though, with the Avalanche, Sonic and Volt all taking home a prize.
The best brand overall was Porsche, which scored 884 out of a possible 1,000 points. The top Japanese brand was Lexus with a score of 847, while the top American brand was Cadillac, at 841. The best mainstream brand was Ram, which received a very respectable 817. The industry average for this year's study was 795, with 16 brands, all of which were mainstream, falling below the average.
