For Sale is my 2003 Porsche 911 Targa with manual transmission. It currently has 66k miles. The car was purchased from Georgia in 2010 with 54k miles. Prior to my ownership, it was a CPO car. Beautiful Seal Gray exterior with gray leather interior. Targa roof- the best of both worlds. 60,000 major service done. TUV, the German Technical Inspection Association ranked the 2003 911 number 1 (!) in reliabilty. The 996 series presents the best value in used Porsches currently. The 317hp engine was not really improved performance-wise until 2009 when hp was increased to 345. I have thoroughly enjoyed the car but a new (old) car purchase forces me the sale.

Overnight action from the 24 Hours of Le Mans
Sun, 23 Jun 2013We won't go into a recap here, but there are still leading positions being fought for in all classes - it's so close that leads are changing when a car goes into the pits. We'll let the recap wait until the end of the race, so for now enjoy some shots from last night's action at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Muffler Man gets racing suit to mark progress on Porsche Experience Center
Sat, 19 Oct 2013In a dramatic change of careers, a fiberglass Muffler Man statue on the side of a busy Los Angeles freeway, formerly known as "Golf Guy," traded in his clubs for a Porsche driver's suit a couple days ago. It's no coincidence, as he's standing on land that the German automaker bought from the Dominguez Hills Golf Course a couple years ago to build its west coast Porsche Experience Center - which will be complete with a test track, restoration and maintenance facilities, a cafe and restaurant, a home for Porsche Motorsports North America and more, when it's finished in the fourth quarter of 2014.
The Porsche Muffler Man will serve as the gatekeeper to the 53-acre center and overlook the test track on the side of the 405 freeway. We can't think of a better job for a fiberglass giant that used to watch golf all day than to watch Porsche road cars and racecars getting wrung out on a test track in the middle of LA. Since Muffler Men are quite adaptable, we're sure this one will fit into his new role in no time - just as easily as he can double as Paul Bunyan.
Check out the press release below for more information on the Muffler Man and the experience center, which could be the ultimate adult playground when it's finished.
'Born of a Blue Sky' brings the Amelia Island Concours to you
Fri, 03 May 2013The Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance has more clout every year and is getting a reputation as Pebble Beach minus the madness. Held in March this year, it celebrated Ducati and the 50-year anniversaries of Lamborghini, the Corvette Sting Ray, Porsche 911 and the Ford GT40.
Justin Lapriore was there, and seemingly everywhere, getting footage of the various wares on display on the lawns and the sand and the runway. The resulting video, Born of a Blue Sky, is a 16-minute survey of some of the finer sights and plenty of engine sounds. Check it out below.
