If shopping for a Porsche 911 996 don't look at any years other than 2003 or 2004. Model Year 2003 has interior updates and, motor updates. This is the car to have! The 2003 Carrera 4s is a special model among the 911's. The Carrera 4s has the big red turbo brakes, turbo widebody, litronic headlamps, loaded interior, and recognizable red tail light strip across the rear. I had a K40 hidden radar detector hidden behind the intake grill in the front and hidden inside so it doesn't detract from the interior. This is a car I have always enjoyed driving and, owning. Everyone that sees this 911 thinks it is brand new. I am obsessed with keeping the Carrera cleaned inside, outside and, waxed regularly. I have always changed the oil every 3-4k miles with synthetic factory Mobile 1. I had the clutch, pressure plate, flywheel and all associated bearings replaced about 10k miles ago. I made sure only factory original parts were used totaling about $4500. I took care of this big service already for you. I had the wheels Plasti-dipped black. The black latex style paint can be peeled off the wheels like peeling latex gloves off. This paint is sold by Suncoast Porsche as a wheel enhancement and protection. I have always garaged it and never driven in bad weather. I don't allow food or drink in the car...Ever! The interior still smells like new leather. The Porsche has the optional full leather interior including the dash, doors, and rear areas. The seats are the optional thin style Sport Buckets. This car has the technology package with the HID Xenon lights with headlamp washers and the rain sensing windshield wipers. The stereo is the Hi-Fi option with the Powered Bose Subwoofers. The seats don't even look like they have been sat in! I have never tracked the car or raced it.  The only reason I am selling this car is due to the fact that I need four doors and also something I don't mind putting miles on. I have included almost thirty pictures but, would be happy to take pictures of certain areas of interest to you.  I also have the factory air box and all associated parts.  Please contact me with offers or questions. I would accept a "reasonable" offer.  I am sure you have looked at other Carrera 4s' here on eBay and see that I am serious about selling my car. 561.541.0432 Jeremy

Father-son team grows close by building tuned Porsche

Mon, 21 Jul 2014

We've seen several heartwarming videos of kids bonding over cars with their parents, whether racing together or giving them as gifts. The story of Leh Keen and his father McGrath, though, is somewhat different. Not many dads are looking for a vehicle quite this mental.
As Leh tells it, his dad saw a video online of one of the wild Porsches from Japanese tuner Rauh-Welt Begriff and decided that he needed one of the creations in his own garage. Since Leh knows something about cars himself as a driver for Alex Job Racing in the United SportsCar Championship, McGrath put his son in charge of managing the build from the company.
When the car made it to the US for completion from Rauh's famed builder Nakai, father and son bonded over the red, widebody 993-platform 911. The final product is certainly eye-catching. Scroll down to watch the video that features not only an engrossing father-son tale but also a seriously wicked, tuned Porsche from one of Japan's finest.

Porsche LMP1 to use 4-cyl hybrid powertrain [w/poll]

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

With the Formula One season - and indeed his entire F1 career - now behind him, Mark Webber took advantage of his early release from Red Bull Racing to try out the new LMP1 which Porsche is developing, undertaking the final test session of 2013 before Porsche throws it head first into the FIA World Endurance Championship next April. The session - which followed previous tests at Magny-Cours, Monza, Paul Ricard and the Eurospeedway at Lausitz - was held at the Algarve circuit in Portimão, Portgual, in collaboration with Michelin, which is developing the tires for the car. But that's hardly the news here.
No, the news is the first confirmation we've seen on the type of powertrain Porsche has developed for its new Le Mans prototype: a gasoline-burning four-cylinder engine with direct injection and two energy recovery systems. This contrasts sharply with the V6 turbodiesel and single electric motor used by Audi in the R18 e-tron Quattro (or at least the outgoing version) or the naturally-aspirated V8 and single electric motor found in the Toyota TS030. Flexibility in the rules set down by the FIA and ACO give the manufacturers that kind of latitude, prompting F1 teams like Ferrari and Renault to consider developing their new engines for Le Mans prototypes as well.
At this point Porsche isn't saying how large its four-cylinder engine is or how much power it will produce. But it'll be interesting, to say the least, to see how it fares against the Audi and Toyota in next year's championship and at Le Mans when it'll be piloted by Webber, former Lola LMP1 driver Neel Jani and Audi's own 2011 Le Mans-winning pair of Romain Dumas and Timo Bernhard.

2014 Porsche Panamera Turbo S is a 911 Turbo for the family man

Thu, 21 Nov 2013

In the event that the Porsche Panamera Turbo's 520 horsepower and 189-mile-per-hour top speed aren't enough to sate the appetite of the speed freak, Porsche has just given the auto show debut to the faster, more powerful Panamera Turbo S.
With 570 horsepower being pumped from a 4.8-liter, twin-turbocharged V8, the Panamera Turbo S promises even faster acceleration, hitting 60 mph in 3.6 seconds, a 0.3-second improvement over the standard Turbo. The top speed, meanwhile, climbs to 192 mph, which is kind of ridiculous for a car with four doors and a trunk.
Other enhancements that come with this Panamera's extra syllable include carbon-ceramic brakes and the entirety of Porsche's active chassis systems, including Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control and Porsche Active Suspension Management. The performance goodies come standard, but that doesn't mean the Panamera Turbo S is cheap.
