Don't get me wrong. I LOVE this car. I don't want to sell it. But my bank account has new priorities. So I'm pricing it fairly and being as up front with everything I know. The good, the bad and the ugly. If you have questions please ask. I included a photo of damage that was repaired after the car was hit in a parking lot. Car is fully repaired and straight as a 13 year-old arrow.

THE GOOD

Owners:  I'm the third owner. I bought it from a guy in Raleigh, who bought it from a Porsche dealer, who took it in from the original owner in Charlotte, who ordered it new.

THE BAD
Paint: Good with normal wear and tear like a few stone chips and road rash

Wheels: Some scuffs

Suspension: Could use new struts up front, but car drives excellently as is

Soft Top: Rear window leaks at bottom seam in heavy rain and high pressure car washes

Interior: Driver side visor missing mirror cover, center console has some scuffing (I have a replacement I'll include), horn grommets wearing out which can cause phantom honking under hard braking in hot weather (Look it up. It's common and I have the replacement part.) Some pixels are burned out in the climate display.

THE UGLY (Sort of)
Exterior: Some minor dings here and there on body and the removable hardtop. Car was hit in parking lot on rear passenger side damaging the rear bumper cover and rear quarter panel. Rear end behind doors was repaired and repainted. Car still looks dead sexy.

Overnight action from the 24 Hours of Le Mans

Sun, 23 Jun 2013

We won't go into a recap here, but there are still leading positions being fought for in all classes - it's so close that leads are changing when a car goes into the pits. We'll let the recap wait until the end of the race, so for now enjoy some shots from last night's action at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The 2014 Ruf RCT offers rear-drive action with 911 Turbo fun

Wed, 05 Mar 2014

Ruf has 37 years of experience of turning Porsches into even higher performance machines. For the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, it's unveiling the RCT, or Ruf Carrera Turbo, which offers power to split the difference between Porsche's 911 Turbo and Turbo S models.
The RCT starts with a unique body kit with a new front air dam and drastically changed rear deck that combines both a small spoiler and air intake. Power is provided by a twin-turbocharged, 3.8-liter flat-six with 525 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque paired to either a seven-speed manual or seven-speed dual clutch transmission. That gives the Ruf a 5-hp and 15-lb-ft advantage over Porsche's own Turbo but is still less powerful than the full Turbo S. The RCT sprints to 62 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds and to a top speed of 196 mph.
However, the Ruf's big advantage is that it offers buyers the choice of either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, while Stuttgart's turbo models are only available spinning all four wheels. The RCT can also offers upgrades like an integrated roll cage and custom suspension packages, should the buyer be so inclined to splash out on racing kit.

NHTSA closes probe into 2011 Porsche 911 coolant leaks

Thu, 13 Mar 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced that it will end its investigation into rapid coolant loss in 24,635 Porsche 911s built between 2001 and 2011. The models affected included the standard 911, GT2, GT3 and Turbo, as well as their variants (GT2 RS, GT3 RS and Turbo S).
NHTSA was investigating for "rapid coolant loss caused by coolant pipe-fitting failure, allegedly resulting in vehicle disablement and/or loss of vehicle control due to reduced traction for the affected vehicle or following traffic," according to the regulators website. "Most of the leak complaints did not appear to involve complete separation of the fittings and many were detected when the vehicle was parked," said NHTSA's statement.
There were 63 complaints and 336 warranty claims, although the investigation was initiated after ten complaints from customers. There have been no reports of crashes or injuries attributed to rapid coolant loss.
