Stunning example of a 1990 Porsche 911 Carrera cabriolet, absolutely beautiful paint, well maintained over the years, paint is absolutely glorious. all panels as straight as an arrow, no evidence of any paint work, beautiful Guards Red paint throughout.

Mechanically the car is very strong, runs well, recently completed a trip of 900 miles THIS PAST WEEK without any incident, excellent oil pressure runs at 4 to 5 bars the whole time, car runs cool, oil temperature gauge at 8 o'clock the whole time, oil level gauge works perfectly, all gauges work perfectly, tachometer, speedometer, odometer, fuel level, all is just as new. Clutch and transmission are excellent, car shifts gears through all the gears shift through cleanly and smoothly, all synchros are fine, reverse is fine, brakes stop on a dime, tires are full tread, car "tracks well" as you drive it down the road, especially at higher speeds, engine runs strong with no issues, engine pulls strong  through all the gears and you reach 80 to 90 mph in a flash.

Cosmetically there are no issues. I must address the car history. It is reported that there was an rear accident in 4/23/2004. Carfax reports it as a minor accident. We have performed a thorough inspection of the vehicle and  while looking underneath  we have found no evidence of any accident. Rear bumper is perfect, all supports are perfect, all panel fit is 100% on, all gaps are correct, there are no waves or ripples or dings in the body in any area. Of course you are more than welcome to inspect the vehicle with your own eyes. If it is not as we say, a FULL REFUND will be granted. All factory stickers are present under the hood, in the engine compartment and on the driver side door jam. There is no corrosion on the chassis, no rust spots, no bubbles, nothing of the sort.

Interior is excellent, carpets are clean, non-smoker vehicle, no strange odors, nothing askew. Door panels are clean, seats are clean, leather is in very good condition; the convertible top is excellent and appears to be original. Back window and stitching is perfect; there are normal fold marks on the top; there are no holes in the top for a 22 year old vehicle that looks as though it has been garaged its whole life. Top goes up and down perfectly. Dash is clean  with no cracks; rear seats are as if no one ever sat in them.

If you are looking for "the one", then this is it. We have had a 1/2 dozen of these over the past year and this is the finest. You will not fine a finer example. It is just beautiful! The pictures do not do it justice. It is more impressive in person. This is like a work of art. It is the Iconic Porsche 911 air-ooled and they are an end of a breed. You will never lose on this investment; it will only go up!

Porsche drivers escape this horrific VIR crash unscathed

Mon, 07 Oct 2013

There is no doubting the fact that it takes nerves of steel to be a racecar driver, but the same can also be said for motorsports photographers. Case in point: The American Le Mans Series Oak Tree Grand Prix at the Virginia International Raceway where two Porsche 911 racecars crash hard into the tire barrier, but the dedicated cameraman stays with the shot - diving away only at the last second just as the battered No. 31 car (shown above) comes to rest atop the tire barriers just feet from where he was standing.
The crash occurred when the two Porsches charged hard into a corner. Judging by the video, the white No. 48 car appears to not see the orange No. 31 and the two cars make contact, skidding off track hitting the tire barriers at a high rate of speed. Both drivers walked away from the frightening crash, but the video - posted below - shows just how bad things could have been. Hopefully the close call will serve as a lesson for the woman standing in the track marshal's post who has her back to the racing as the two cars barrel directly toward her.

Mysterious Porsche 911 Cabriolet spied, could be GTS

Mon, 10 Mar 2014

While Porsche's designers can jokingly be accused of being some of the laziest in the industry due to the incremental changes to the 911's iconic design, no such charge can be leveled against the engineers and product planning folks. That's because it seems like each week arrives with news of a new variation of the marque's iconic rear-engined sports car. So, for this week, we've brought you images of what we think is the new 911 GTS Cabriolet, undergoing testing in a thawing winter wonderland.
Now, what is it that gives this 911 away, compared to standard convertible? Well, the big thing is the new offset, center-mounted exhausts. Borrowing a page from the last Volkswagen R32, these exhaust tips are unlike anything we've seen from Porsche. Only the GT3 wears center pipes, and unlike these spy photos, the twin pipes on the track-minded 911 are stacked neatly alongside each other. The other change spotted by our spies is the set of active-aerodynamic flaps in the front bumper, which can automatically channel air toward the brakes for increased cooling, or close off to reduce drag, as needed.
Those exhausts are a pretty big design detail, and so far as we can tell is the only differentiator between the other 911s in this car's posse. Our spies speculate that this could be a 911 Speedster, but point out that both the canvas roof and windshield remain unchanged - the rumored Speedster model would almost certainly feature a different roof assembly along with a steeply raked windshield.

Porsche recalls new 911 models over exhaust pipe issues

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Porsche, though the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, announced a voluntary recall on about 2,200 911 Carrera and Carrera 4 models built during the 2012 and 2013 model years. On cars equipped with the standard exhaust system it was found that the tailpipes could separate from the mufflers and become dangerous road debris; models that added the optional sport exhaust system are not included in this recall.
Affected vehicles were built between March and November of last year, but there have been no reports of the problem on any customer-owned vehicles. Porsche first noticed a cracked tailpipe weld on a test vehicle back in May, and since then has found similar problems on other internally owned vehicles, all with more than 25,000 miles on the clock. To fix the problem, dealers will be replacing the mufflers. Scroll down to read the official notice.
