I'm selling my 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera because I have my eyes set on another car that I want. I'm the third owner of the car and it has been garaged its whole life. It has the highly desirable G50 transmission. The stock 3.2 engine has been rebuilt and bored out to a 3.4. The car has 104K miles on it right now (I drive it a couple of times each week) and the engine was rebuilt at 80K miles. Below is a list of upgrades done.
-3.4 pistons & cylinder
-964 cams
-4 new oil return lines
-exhaust valves (6)
-12 new valve guides
-andial e-prom
-extrude hone intake
-B&B full sport exhaust (dual output)
-2 cam sprockets
-2 chain sprockets
-clutch disk
-raceware stud kit
-spark plugs
There's more on the receipt that was done, but I didn't list them because they are bolts, gaskets, etc the total cost to rebuild was $15,832.87. The brakes were serviced December 2012. The radio head unit and speakers where upgraded back in January (comes with stock stuff). It has a rear roll bar, two 5 point harnesses, and a fire suppression system. The wheels are Kinesis 27s (17s) which are $3000 wheels and the tires are in good condition. Car comes with all maintenance receipts and a clean Florida title. No leaks, starts right up, all gears shift as they should, does not overheat.

Porsche 919 Hybrid revives Porsche's factory Le Mans efforts
Tue, 04 Mar 2014After months of teasing with camouflaged testers, Porsche has finally unveiled its prototype entry for the 2014 World Endurance Championship, the 919 Hybrid. Porsche, you may recall, hasn't had campaigned a factory team at Le Mans in years, so the 919 is nothing less than their recommitment to endurance racing.
Combining a 2.0-liter V4 (yes, a V4) that revs to 9,000 rpm, the 919 produces around 500 horsepower with a pair of energy recovery systems. The first system recovers the heat energy from exhaust gasses as they pass through an electrical generator, while the second system is a bit more familiar. Using a setup similar to what is found on the production 918 Spyder, a generator on the front axle recovers kinetic energy from the brakes, which is subsequently stored in a battery system. That power can then be sent to the front wheels at the driver's command, effectively turning the 919 into an all-wheel-drive racecar.
Despite these various forms of motivation, Porsche doesn't claim to be seeking outright power supremacy, with Chairman Matthias Müller saying, "In 2014, it will not be the fastest car that wins the World Endurance Championship series and the 24 hours of Le Mans, rather it will be the car that goes the furthest with a defined amount of energy. And it is precisely this challenge that carmakers must overcome. The 919 Hybrid is our fastest mobile research laboratory and the most complex race car that Porsche has ever built."
Porsche 911 RSR in bizarre, terrifying rally crash
Sun, 22 Sep 2013As far as rally crashes go, this one is pretty terrifying. At this month's Hellendoorn Rally, Harry Kleinjan failed to negotiate a turn and drove his Porsche 911 RSR straight into a Jersey barrier, flipping the car into the river.
While it's unclear what caused the accident, German Car Scene notes, "We can see his brakes locking up ahead of the impact, which also ripped both driver's side wheels off, so it may be a case of ill-judged late braking, locking brakes or a jammed throttle." Us? We're betting it might have been bad pace notes. Fortunately for Harry and his co-driver, all indications are that no one was hurt. Check out the videos below to see the spectacular crash for yourself.
Watch Porsche's 918 Spyder break a sweat while hot weather testing
Wed, 19 Jun 2013With five months left until the 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder enters production, Porsche engineers are still putting the hybrid sports coupe through a battery of last-minute tests. To give us new reasons to ogle over the car - as if we needed any more - Porsche has released a short video showing the 918 Spyder undergoing shakedown tests in the hot Nevada desert. And you can't drive through Nevada without visiting Vegas, too, right?
Although there's really nothing new to see in this video, it's still fun to watch as Porsche approaches one million test miles logged on this exciting new high-performance model. One interesting part (at around the 0:37 mark) shows the car taking off under electric power and then transitioning to engine power, which results in a mix of whirs and growls as the 918 Spyder switches from a 127-horsepower electric vehicle to an 887-hp hybrid supercar. Scroll down to watch - and hear - Porsche's latest creation in motion.
