This is some what of a special 1985 porsche carrera cabriolet. It was first sold in 1991 with 17k on the clock. It was a porsche executive car and may have been a special wishes car? It came with 8 way power heated seats, color matched 15 inch fuchs, cruise control, ac, manual convertable top.It was owned by the same person since 1991 until now. The previous owner was a fanatic when it came to maintenance, and changed the oil every 3000 miles!!! I have 22 years of records and it is also on a spread sheet!.He also kept track of every fill up and mileage! It was sold new here in the bay area, california, never been in an accident,no rust! I recently performed a major svc and resealed alot oil leaks.During the valve adjustment I checked the valve guide play and it was very slight and the cams and rockers look new.It has 221k original miles but you would never know it. It runs extremely well, very quiet, no cam chain noise, pulls with plenty of power, no smoke, passes california smog easily! I also changed the cam lines, oil preesure switch, t stat o ring, updated 2 wire head temp sensor, engine out service, presure washed everything, very clean dry engine and trans. Transmission was rebuilt a few years ago, swepco 201 fluid, no grinds, 1st and 2nd syncros are great.Turbo tie rods pretty much the only mod on the car.Now the paint clearcoat is peeling on the hood and fenders, dash is cracked, tach intermittent, clock inop, mirrors inop, ac needs a charge, rear window is foggy and has small cracks.(this zips out so should be an easy fix) Cab top was replaced and is in good shape, goes up and down smoothly. This is a great opportunity to get into a classic carrera cab at a good price, it is mechanically excellent and would not hesitate driving it cross country! Give it a paint job and some cosmetics and you will have a very enjoyable car with many more fun miles! I have been a porsche tech and shop owner for 20 years and this 3.2 runs as good as any I have ever worked on.It comes with all records, books, tools, air compressor, clear california title ready to transfer. Please have good feedback and be a seriuos buyer, I reserve the right to end auction at any time due to it being for sale locally. THIS IS A TRUE NO RESERVE AUCTION!! Bid to win and ask questions! Check my feedback I take it very serious, will help with loading onto shipper or I encourage flying out and driving home!! good luck!

A closer look at the 2015 Porsche Macan

Wed, 27 Nov 2013

He assured us that "this is a sports car."
Porsche took the wraps off its all-new 2015 Macan at the LA Auto Show last week, and while it's easy to write it off as just a badge-engineered version of the Audi Q5, you'd be very, very wrong. For starters, 75 percent of the car's platform was re-engineered by the Porsche team, and with a choice of two twin-turbocharged engines, the Macan should absolutely live up to the brand's pedigree.

Supercar parade entering highway is mesmerizing

Thu, 09 May 2013

In what must have looked and sounded to motorists on the M6 like an invasion of The Swarm, a parade of 50 enthusiast gems leaving a charity event were caught shooting down the on-ramp and merging into traffic. There were plenty of Porsches joining the 959 and Ducktail above, Aston Martins going back to the badboy V8 of the last millennium, a Ferrari Testarossa, a TVR and numerous other Easter eggs.
There were not, however, plenty of turn signals, with someone counting just five among the fifty engaging in proper use of the blinker. One reason put forth for that is the same reason we're posting this video, which is from last Summer, below: "because supercar." Enjoy.

The mid-engine Porsche backstory

Thu, 09 Oct 2014

As an automaker's identity evolves over years, its signature becomes defined by any number of factors - heritage (Mercedes-Benz), image (Lamborghini), or market share (Toyota). In the case of Porsche, it was an engineering quirk that forged the German company's most enduring character trait.
Porsche would not have survived - let alone, thrived - in today's saturated landscape had it not been for the 911, and that slope-tailed sports car wouldn't have sprung to life without its predecessor, the 356. While phenomenal success of those rear-engine icons built the company, forays into the mid-engine configuration have played a significant part in establishing the brand's identity.
