This car was equipped with authentic Ruf
components and a handful of high quality upgrades. This 911 SC was sold new for Germany delivery before making its
way to California. It now resides in Tucson, AZ and is being sold in turn key condition. This Targa is the
beneficiary of a professional respray in its original color of Petrol Blue Metallic. The paint stands in good
driver-grade condition with minor blemishes. All four fenders along with the Targa top have been equipped with high
quality pressure die cast fiberglass panels. Some slight cracking in the driver’s side fender due to a previous
repair. Appears no panels have ever been replaced on the vehicle since it was built. Additional features include:
H4 headlights, and led lighting, solid Targa top, exterior color matched headlight rings and Targa bar, Ruf outside
mirrors, front oil cooler bumper, steel Turbo factory early engine deck lid, deleted rear bumper guards, custom
twin outlet muffler, upgraded Bilstein shocks, and black painted 15X9X11" Gotti polished aluminum racing wheels
that wear BF Goodrich drag radials in good condition. Inside this 911, you will find features such as black vintage
cloth Recaro front seats, rear seat delete, a MOMO Ruf sport steering wheel, 7,400rpm redline tachometer, custom
air-conditioning with three condensers. The driver side seat is equipped with a heater, air pump bladder and
three-way adjustable movement setting. As for the condition of the interior, it is above average for its age and
mileage. Power comes from a CofA numbers matching 3.2L air-cooled flat-six engine that produces approximately 235HP
and is connected to a 5-speed manual transmission.

Why you must buy an air-cooled Porsche 911 now

Fri, 14 Feb 2014

"Because" might be a good response to our headline, but as a vintage (purists might call 'proper') Porsche 911 is hardly cheap, we suspect you'll need a better explanation than that. Enter Drive editor Mike Spinelli.
Spinelli sits down with Zac Moseley and Mick Prichinello from Classic Car Club Manhattan to first explain why the market for old, air-cooled 911s has gotten so hot over the past few years, and to discuss if it's a bubble that's about to burst. Following that, this video is really is just three guys sitting around talking about old Porsches for 35 minutes. Which, you know, we're pretty onboard with.

Preparing for Le Mans 2014 Porsche remembers 1971 and the 917 [w/video]

Sun, 07 Apr 2013

Porsche has given us another look back at its successes at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This time it's 1971, the year that its 917 set records that haven't all been eclipsed. It's 45-kilogram magnesium tube frame was the lightest, Jackie Oliver set the fastest in-race lap with a time that still stands, and winning drivers Helmut Marko - the same Helmut Marko currently with Infiniti Red Bull Racing - and Gilles Lethem did so many laps that their distance wasn't exceeded until the Audi R15 TDI did it in 2010.
1971 was also the year of the "Pink Pig." With bodywork created by a French aerodynamics firm, the wider, rounder 917 earned the porcine moniker so Porsche painted it pink and labeled it with the cuts you'd get from a pig. Sponsor Martini was so miffed they demanded all Martini branding be removed. No one can remove the thousands of photographs taken of the car ever since. Enjoy that and more in the video below.

Porsche inspecting 2,500 Euro-spec Macans for damaged brake boosters

Thu, 29 May 2014

Porsche is investigating a potential brake issue with 2,500 of its new Macan CUVs. The inspection focuses on the state of the brake systems following tests that discovered the brake boosters may have been damaged during assembly.
Porsche has pointed out that, despite the concern, the affected Macans still meet safety regulations. The issue is predominantly found in European-spec Macans, which according to Porsche, have been delivered to consumers. Owners of affected vehicles in Europe will be notified and asked to come in for a brief, no-cost inspection.
American consumers, though, have no reason to worry. We reached out to Porsche Cars North America, who confirmed that the vehicles in question were assembled before US-spec cars were screwed together.
