1986 Pontiac Trans Am, ws6, L98, T56, ps, p4wdb, pw, pdl, ac, cc, tilt, new Camaro Inferno orange over grey leather. A friend bought this car in 1989 with 25k, it was flame red, 305tpi/ auto. He drove it about a year and couldn't afford it so his mother took over the payments and the car. I bought it from his mother in 1998, all original with 120k.I will list everything I have done in chronological order. The trans went in 1999. I installed a new, NOS, T56 six speed. All trans components came from the Chevy dealer, except crossmember. Replaced outer door belt moulding 2000.radiator 2001 . Windshield 2002,, 2.5'' tailpipes and all side mrkr. lights and fr. park lights.2002. Moog front end 2002. lifetime alternator 2003. Boxed poly. lwr. cntrl. arms, tubular poly. adj. panhard rod 2003. Bearings and seals rear end (opt. 3.27gear) 2007. The car had the original 305tpi until 2012. It was tired and I had a 1990 Corvette L98(roller) with 50k so It seemed a natural fit. I installed poly. engine mounts, new holley 750 vac.,new MSD hei.,new Summit mini red. starter, all tune up and fluids. Battery 2013. I retained all tpi wiring and sensors. The tpi unit and all hardware and related is included. I wanted to see how the car would run with a carb. The car has its original exhaust, except tailpipes. I ported the manifolds to match the "D" shaped ports. I am using in-tank pump with a regulator designed for this app.. All steel fuel lines are being used, I only cut the flex lines in the engine compartment. The paint is Dupont base/clear done six months ago.The aero wing lasted until last year. The car has all original sheetmetal except the doors. 1986 doors were prone to rust. When we painted her I obtained 2 solid 1989 doors which were stripped to shells, blasted and everything cleaned and re-assembled with a light oil. All new weatherstrips. They are sweet. The rear hatch motorized latch has been completely rebuilt and the hatch hinges are from a low mileage donor. I updated the spare to fourth gen. piece. I have the original blow-up one but not the air bottle. If you haven't guessed by now I am a firebird nut and have worked at several Pontiac dealerships. This is my baby. This car has not been my daily driver since 2006. The ac stopped some years ago and the seats bottoms gave out, but everything else is done. I have two generic, grey seat covers, removed for photos. I have receipts for everything I have listed.

Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day
Thu, 07 Jun 2012Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.
GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes
Mon, 01 Oct 2012The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.
2008-2009 Pontiac G8 recalled over airbag concern
Mon, 07 Nov 2011General Motors is recalling around 38,000 Pontiac G8 sedans from its 2008 and 2009 model years. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that the cars may have a passenger-side airbag flaw that might prevent proper deployment in certain scenarios.
According to NHTSA, the airbag might not adequately protect a fifth percentile woman - that is, a woman around four-foot, 11-inches weighing 108 pounds. The New York Times indicates that the anomaly was found during a crash test conducted by GM's Australian branch, Holden, which was testing the G8's twin (read: Commodore) for head injuries. According to that report, the test in question is specifically tailored to simulate injuries to females, so the results do not apply to men or children.
The issue has been blamed on a seat position sensor that governs airbag deployment rates. NHTSA indicates that when the front passenger seat is moved all the way forward, the faulty sensor may inappropriately trigger a 30-millisecond delay between airbag stages, potentially leading to greater injuries.
