Black 1998 Pontiac Trans Am Ws6 on 2040-cars

Year:1998 Mileage:34700
Location:

Savannah, Georgia, United States

Savannah, Georgia, United States

Up for sale is my 1998 Trans Am WS6. It has 37,000 miles on the body and about 16,000 on the current motor. The motor was not replaced due to mechanical problems or damage or anything like that, it was just swapped out in favor of the current motor, a 443ci, 600hp LS6. All of the work, to include building the motor, was done professionally by a shop in Illinois called Finish Line Performance. There are too many performance parts to list and every one of them is top shelf. Some notables include a F.A.S.T. intake and throttle body, SLP headers, Callies crankshaft and connecting rods, JE pistons, a Ron Davis aluminum radiator, an SLP Bilstein/Eibach suspension parts, Strange 12-bolt 3.73 rear end, and more. The paint is in awesome condition, as is the interior. It has never been smoked in. I am the 2nd owner, having bought the car from my father in 2010.

Now on to the bad. There is a small paint blemish on the leading edge of the driver side door from it rubbing the fender a little. There is moisture in the passenger side tail light. A little bit of the plastic on the driver seat has some very minor scratching on it. Two or so of the lifters seem to be going bad.

I don't really want to sell this car, if I'm being completely honest. It's a tire-shredding monster disguised as a show car. However, I just got out of the Army a few months ago and times are tough. I'm going to be moving out of state in mid-may, so I need to sell before then. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to communicate with me about it. The only dumb question is the one you don't ask.

The buyer will be responsible for pickup. Also, I'm just a guy trying to sell his car, so I can't offer any sort of warranty or anything.

The car comes with a car cover and a set of track tires(Nitto drag radials mounted on their own set of WS6 factory wheels)

If you need more pictures I'll be happy to e-mail them to you

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.

CNN chronicles young girl building Pontiac Fiero

Fri, 26 Oct 2012

At fourteen years of age, Kathryn DiMaria has already done what many self-proclaimed gearheads won't even attempt in their lifetimes. The Dearborn, Michigan teen is rebuilding a car from the ground up.
The intrepid youngster asked her parents when she was just twelve to start a Pontiac Fiero project, even offering to pony up all the funds herself. Father, Jerry DiMaria only expected the project to last a few months, but two years later, Kathryn is still at it. In this CNN video, the two are at Maker Faire (a DIY festival) rebuilding a 3.4-liter V6 engine out of a Chevrolet Camaro to replace the 2.8-liter mill found in the Fiero.
The whole family hast pitched in, with Kathryn's mother teaching her how to sew in order to complete the interior, father Jerry providing much of the technical know-how, and even her sister is chronicling Kathryn's progress through photos. Jerry even started a thread in a Fiero forum which has been live for two years and is now 22 pages long. Of the project, one forum member wrote, "welcome to the madness."

GM repairing 40,500 Pontiac Vibes as part of Toyota airbag recall

Wed, 09 Apr 2014

General Motors has confirmed to Autoblog that the Pontiac Vibe is included in Toyota's just-announced recall action. The Vibe and the Toyota Matrix share a large number of parts, including the affected cable to the airbag.
"About 40,500 Pontiac Vibes from the 2009-2010 model years are included in the Toyota recall. Toyota designed and engineered the Vibe for Pontiac. GM will service customers with these vehicles when Toyota makes the parts available," said GM recall spokesperson Alan Adler to Autoblog in an email.
The recall covers 1.3 million Toyota units in the US, including 2009-2010 Corolla, Matrix and Tacoma, the 2008-2010 Highlander, the 2006-2008 Rav4 and 2006-2010 Yaris, plus the addition of the 2009-2010 Vibe. The models all have their airbag module attached via a spiral electrical cable. The connections on this cable can be damaged when turning the steering wheel. Once broken, the airbag deactivates and the airbag warning light comes on. Toyota has an improved part, but it's still making preparations to begin repairs. It will begin notifying owners soon.
