1975 pontiac trans am---Parents you can put your son or daughter in a clean
car with a muscle car look , but without
the power to get them into trouble. In the mid 70’s the car companys stopped
giving the public hi horsepower cars-the 75 trans am has a 400 cubic inch V8 motor with only 185
horsepower and has hyway friendly 2:56
rear gear ratio. .It is elegible for QQ plates which means no inspections, and
collector car insurance which means full stated value coverage for less then
$200 per year!! The car runs on regular
gas. This is a reliable driver with a great muscle car look.Recently repainted
in sterling silver metallic. The motor and trans were rebuilt 30,000 miles ago.I
bought it 2 weeks ago and I have already replaced the headliner, interior and
exterior door handles,, rocker panel sill plates, chrome trim rings for the 15
inch stage two wheels, refinished the front grilles, new weatherstrips, cleaned
the interior The car is very clean, is numbers matching and has power steering, power brakes , tilt
wheel, 8 track and cassette players, AC, recaro bucket seats(original seats
also included) and an automatic turbo 350 transmission. Two tone red/black
interior which was how it was ordered in 75.
You could also drop in a crate engine and change the ring and pinion and
have a real MUSCLE car. Come see it in Lake Hopatcong,NJ as it is being
improved every day-as the repairs continue the purchase price will rise-on the
list of repairs still needed: new ac compressor, no power to radio, dome light
stays on when its plugged in, needs universal joints, trunk floor is mostly
solid but needs repair patches in the rear corners—right now it’s a great
looking reliable car that can be driven every day without worry. On Aug-27-14 at 03:13:41 PDT, seller added the following information: universal joints replaced 8/27 and im working on the trunk floor now. On Sep-01-14 at 04:06:47 PDT, seller added the following information: 8/31 trunk floor done , also replaced cooling fan clutch, found that the heat/AC fan motor needs to be replaced, it blows the fuse when you put the fan on high speed-easy fix coming--drove it 200 miles in the last 7 days-runs great On Sep-02-14 at 07:11:29 PDT, seller added the following information: 9-2 drained the rear differential and added new gear oil with limited slip additive-also noticed that the rear brake line is original and rusty so im changing that also-want the new owner to be safe On Sep-02-14 at 07:14:02 PDT, seller added the following information: 9-2 checking the motor and trans rebuild invoice I see that the motor and trans were rebuilt 14,000 miles ago not 30,000 as the person I bought it from had told me-he was reading the odometer incorrectly. |

This Auto Aerobics car art ties our brains in knots like pretzels
Sat, 14 Dec 2013We like cars, and we like art. Naturally, Chris Labrooy's Auto Aerobics series - computer-generated images of some seriously contorted 1968 Pontiac Bonnevilles floating in mid-air - instantly clicked with us. If the Pontiacs weren't floating or hollow, we could be fooled into believing the image is real. But where's the fun in that?
Check out the gallery we included of Labrooy's Bonneville art, and feel free too head over to his website for some Formula One humor.
GM doing fine at retaining Pontiac owners
Fri, 28 Oct 2011This isn't the first time we've reported positive news about General Motors retaining former Pontiac owners. Get a few more stories like this latest report from Edmund's Auto Observer, and it will mark an ongoing positive trend for GM. Edmunds.com crunched the numbers to see how well the General is hanging on to customers after shutting out the lights at Pontiac, and it found that nearly 40 percent of Pontiac owners stayed with a vehicle from a General Motors brand.
The numbers are a little lower than an earlier R.L. Polk & Company study, but Edmunds says General Motors is keeping more former Pontiac buyers than it has since 2007. Most are turning to vehicles from Chevrolet, especially during January and February of 2011, when GM incentivized Pontiac owners to stay under the umbrella. Those moves seem to have worked, and 28.1 percent of Pontiac owners trading up made the jump into a Bowtie.
Buyers that have gone elsewhere have largely stayed loyal to Domestic automakers, with Ford picking up the most conquests from Pontiac, with 9.4 percent switching. Toyota and Honda picked up 7.4 percent of the pool of former Pontiac drivers. The numbers are defying any predictions that Pontiac buyers would completely exit the General Motors fold, and have climbed up closer to parity with the retention figures of other GM brands from a 2009 low of only 16 percent retention.
Airbag recall adds 85k Pontiac Vibes to tally
Fri, 13 Jun 2014The repairs needed for the faulty airbag inflators supplied by Takata continue to expand. Toyota initially announced a recall of 766,300 vehicles equipped with the bad part on June 11 as a followup to a campaign from 2013. Soon after, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened a preliminary evaluation into five automakers who also used the component in their models. Now, NHTSA has released the official announcement of the latest Toyota recall listing 844,277 affected cars, including the newly added 2003-2004 Pontiac Vibe.
While NHTSA's document didn't include a model-by-model breakdown, General Motors spokesperson Alan Adler estimated to Autoblog that roughly 85,000 Vibes in the US would be covered under the latest recall. Like the rest of the affected models, the airbag inflator could rupture in a crash causing the bag not to work correctly, possibly spraying metal fragments at the occupant.
Toyota spokesperson Cindy Knight told Autoblog that the reason for the disparity between the earlier press release and NHTSA document was that Toyota was continuing to comb through VINs to create a list of affected vehicles. The original number was an estimate of that process at the time. Scroll down to the recall report from NHTSA.
