You are bidding on a RARE 1999 Pontiac Trans Am with RAM AIR and the ultimate WS-6 Engine. This car is rare for the WS-6 ENGINE AND IT'S COLOR-TRIPLE WHITE. White leather interior, white convertible top, exterior white body with all the original paint. It has the original chrome ws-6 rims with newer tires. This car spent most of its life in sunny dry LAS VEGAS so it is bone dry and shows no signs of rust which is rare. The car runs and functions with no troubles and is wickedly fast. This has been a female owned car its whole life and a one owner vehicle retaining all of its original documentation including window sticker for $39k back in 1999. Now for the honesty: This car has been always garage kept, the convertible top is the original one and has a half inch tear on the passengers side that is not all the way through but scraped otherwise unremarkable. Also on the convertible top from the Las Vegas heat the top is separating from the splines and shows bubbling all along the roof splines. The original chrome rims are in good condition showing minor curb rash. The paint is faded and dull in some areas. There are also various idiot service lights on the dashboard. There are no big dents or body damage other than paint cracking on the front bumper cover and a small crack in the cover passengers side see picture. Both the front and rear bumpers have cracks in the plastic and the front bumper has a 4-5 inch long crack where it meets the hood and will need to be replaced. On the passengers side rear quarter panel there are a small series of dents the size of a quarter that are high up on the quarter panel on the body curve. The rear bumper also has cracked paint as you can see by the pictures. The engine compartment is clean and unmolested and all stock. All of the options work as they should. The car is priced to sell and you will not find another one like it. If you need it shipped I can arrange shipping though buyer pays for shipping. Accepted forms of payment are: Wire Transfer, Cash, Certified Bank Funds, or cashiers check. NO PAYPAL. NO TRADES. If you need financing go to JJBEST.com and they can approve you in 10 minutes with long terms. If you want to fly in and drive it home we will arrange to have you picked up at O'Hare International Airport in Chicago, ILLINOIS. First come first serve. Do not make an offer unless you have the funds secured before bidding. Questions email me at cadiman66@aol.com  Frank. This car will require TLC and is by no means a show car. Car is sold as is where is with no warranties written expressed nor implied. I have described the car to the best of my ability. Serious inquiries only.

GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes

Mon, 01 Oct 2012

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.

CNN chronicles young girl building Pontiac Fiero

Fri, 26 Oct 2012

At fourteen years of age, Kathryn DiMaria has already done what many self-proclaimed gearheads won't even attempt in their lifetimes. The Dearborn, Michigan teen is rebuilding a car from the ground up.
The intrepid youngster asked her parents when she was just twelve to start a Pontiac Fiero project, even offering to pony up all the funds herself. Father, Jerry DiMaria only expected the project to last a few months, but two years later, Kathryn is still at it. In this CNN video, the two are at Maker Faire (a DIY festival) rebuilding a 3.4-liter V6 engine out of a Chevrolet Camaro to replace the 2.8-liter mill found in the Fiero.
The whole family hast pitched in, with Kathryn's mother teaching her how to sew in order to complete the interior, father Jerry providing much of the technical know-how, and even her sister is chronicling Kathryn's progress through photos. Jerry even started a thread in a Fiero forum which has been live for two years and is now 22 pages long. Of the project, one forum member wrote, "welcome to the madness."

NHTSA investigating 550k Pontiac G6 models, 320k Honda Odysseys

Mon, 10 Jun 2013

According to two separate reports in The Detroit News, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is launching investigations into 550,000 Pontiac G6 (pictured above) and 320,000 Honda Odyssey (pictured right) models. The G6 models are all from the 2005 to 2007 model years, while the Odyssey minivans are from the 2003 and 2004 model years. The two NHTSA probes are not related.
In the case of the G6, this is an upgrade to an original investigation that started in February after NHTSA received "hundreds of reports" that the brake lights on these cars may malfunction. According to The Detroit News, the lights may come on when the brake pedal is not depressed, and likewise, the brake lights may not illuminate when the pedal has been pushed. General Motors was able to provide NHTSA with a significant number of warranty claims, including 1,100 reports that could potentially relate to this problem, one of which indicates a vehicle crash.
For Honda, the NHTSA probe concerns airbags that may deploy unexpectedly. The government agency received six complaints from 2003-04 Odyssey owners saying that the front airbags suddenly went off without a crash. The Detroit News reports that three of the six owners sustained injuries from these incidents. Additionally, NHTSA has received 41 complaints from owners saying the vehicle's airbag warning light had illuminated.
