Clean 1998 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 up for sale. Last generation Trans Am ever built!! This is the last of the breed and will only continue to go up in value. SLP air lid and Flowmaster muffler with electric cutout are the only mods done to this Trans Am. I still have the stock air box setup to go with the car if you want to bring it back to it's factory form. Never raced and always garaged. Car runs fantastic and has no mechanical issues at all. Has a small tear (approximately 4") in driver seat, but the rest of the seat and passenger seats look like new! Has a few spider cracks on the hood, but only noticeable upon close up inspection. Car looks excellent for it's age and no one believes it is a 16 year old vehicle. The rest of the factory Black paint is awesome and highly reflective. Waxed every 6 months even if it wasn't driven. Looks awesome and will turn heads everywhere! Has staggered 19" RPM R-505 black wheels with machined lip. Brand new Z rated Nexen tires on all four corners (285 width in rear and 245 width in front). Newly installed Pioneer stereo with all new pioneer speakers, Kicker 12" Subwoofer and amp in custom box. Sounds awesome!! 6000K HID fog lights. Black out covers on tail lights, but can be quickly removed if you don't like the look. Tail lights are in great condition and no signs of moisture damage like so many other Trans Ams. Car is a head turner...no doubt about it!! Don't hesitate to own one of these future classics while they are still affordable! If you have any additional questions or want more pics, text or call me at 985-870-4442. Clear title in hand! Car is for sale locally, so reserve the right to end auction early. Thanks for looking and bid with confidence!

This Auto Aerobics car art ties our brains in knots like pretzels

Sat, 14 Dec 2013

We like cars, and we like art. Naturally, Chris Labrooy's Auto Aerobics series - computer-generated images of some seriously contorted 1968 Pontiac Bonnevilles floating in mid-air - instantly clicked with us. If the Pontiacs weren't floating or hollow, we could be fooled into believing the image is real. But where's the fun in that?
Check out the gallery we included of Labrooy's Bonneville art, and feel free too head over to his website for some Formula One humor.

GM doing fine at retaining Pontiac owners

Fri, 28 Oct 2011

This isn't the first time we've reported positive news about General Motors retaining former Pontiac owners. Get a few more stories like this latest report from Edmund's Auto Observer, and it will mark an ongoing positive trend for GM. Edmunds.com crunched the numbers to see how well the General is hanging on to customers after shutting out the lights at Pontiac, and it found that nearly 40 percent of Pontiac owners stayed with a vehicle from a General Motors brand.
The numbers are a little lower than an earlier R.L. Polk & Company study, but Edmunds says General Motors is keeping more former Pontiac buyers than it has since 2007. Most are turning to vehicles from Chevrolet, especially during January and February of 2011, when GM incentivized Pontiac owners to stay under the umbrella. Those moves seem to have worked, and 28.1 percent of Pontiac owners trading up made the jump into a Bowtie.
Buyers that have gone elsewhere have largely stayed loyal to Domestic automakers, with Ford picking up the most conquests from Pontiac, with 9.4 percent switching. Toyota and Honda picked up 7.4 percent of the pool of former Pontiac drivers. The numbers are defying any predictions that Pontiac buyers would completely exit the General Motors fold, and have climbed up closer to parity with the retention figures of other GM brands from a 2009 low of only 16 percent retention.

How to turn a Pontiac Fiero into a trackday car

Fri, 17 Oct 2014

Imagine hitting the track in a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports coupe that's affordable and has pretty good parts availability. It might sound like a pipe dream, but it's actually quite possible, if you're willing to think a little outside the box. The Pontiac Fiero is out there just waiting for a little work to turn it into a competent racing machine.
Think about it for a second. Of course, we would all like to be snaking through the curves in something exotic, but what happens when you crash or something breaks? The bills are going to mount up quickly. However, if you ball up a Fiero at the track, as long as you're not hurt, then it's not a huge tragedy.
That's basically the story of Steven Snyder in a new video from Drive starring Matt Farah. Snyder wanted to go to the track cheaply and ended up with an awesome little Fiero with a huge wing and a claimed 220 horsepower at the wheels thanks to a V6 from a Chevrolet Lumina. Check out the video to see how this pint-size Pontiac performs.
