Automotive World Incorporated Introduces......
1986 Pontiac Trans Am Only 10k Original Miles!! No Reserve!! The Pontiac
Firebird was introduced in 1967 along with the Camaro and Cougar and were the
launch of the Pony Car War in hopes to catch up in popularity by the Mustang
that was introduced in 1964 1/2 . As that
war still continues today we all chose our favorites back in the day. For some it was the Mustang, some the Camaro
and some the Firebird. The Cougar fell
off in the early 70’s trying to find a home with the sister car to the
Thunderbird. The 3 cars that were left
held true to its heritage and always remained muscle and sports cars. The Firebird which added the name Trans Am in
1969 to compete in SCCA’s road racing series.
In order to get the name Trans Am Pontiac had to pay $5 to the SCCA for
each Trans Am sold for licensing. But
the name Trans Am was so significant to the Firebird because it represented the
best of the best. As the Pontiac Trans
Am moved into the 70’s EPA regulations dramatically lowered horse power and
tightened smog and emissions that dropped horsepower rating from 400 to 140’s. Pontiac made up for the lack of horsepower
with their flashy molds and designs and T-Tops and spoilers. If you ask Burt Reynolds what made the Smokey
and the Bandit franchise so popular he would undoubtedly say he did. But if you ask people like us, it was the
car. Just like David Hasslehoff
(Knight Rider) can thank the 1982 Pontiac Trans Am for the launch
in his career. This 1986
Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is responsible for making the 80’s the best times of
our lives. This car offered here today
holds no excuse. It has only 10k
original miles and is factory new. It
encompasses just the right amount of flashiness, ample amount of power that
would produce some nice burnouts and most importantly hideaway headlights that
were the Firebird’s trademark from 1982 to 1992. Technology was starting to catch up to style
and horsepower was on the rise. Please read on about
this beautiful car and view the many pictures and video that is provided to
help depict the true condition of this vehicle.
Our lines of communication are open so do not hesitate to contact concerning
this car or any other car we offer.
Thank you.
Exterior: As
you can see from the pictures this 86 Trans Am appears virtually brand
new. The car itself has 10,700 miles and
shows very little wear and was garaged its whole life. All original components are still on the car
including the tires. There is one minor
flaw on the passenger rear quarter panel as something dropped on it as it sat
in the garage. The dent was repaired by
a paintless dent guy and touched up(see picture). The paint is brilliant and shines
excellent. The glass, lights, and marker
lights all appear new in its appearance.
How else can you explain a vehicle with only 10k miles. It truly is a rare find on a classic
car. These cars are climbing in value
and with these miles it will insure a great investment. Please let us know of any questions you may
have on the exterior of this vehicle. Interior: The
interior is flawless. All gauges work
new and the seats look as no one has ever sat in them. The carpet as well looks perfect and the
original mats remain in the trunk area unused.
The dash and door panels have no cracks on it. The seat material is new and can change
directions of the felt by waving your hand across the material. The headliner is perfect. The ashtray has never been used. All power options work as they should. Windows are manual. It’s like going to the showroom floor and
seeing this interior for the first time.
No disappointments. Please let us
know of any questions you may have.
Drivetrain: The
drivetrain is the Chevy 305 “H” code v8 with the 4 speed automatic
transmission. The car runs/drives and
handles as good as it looks. Feel
comfortable to fly in and drive this one home.
All belts, hoses, brakes, tires etc are road worthy and the car has been
in a climate controlled environment since new.
We’ve included a copy of the window sticker in our pictures so make sure
to read it over. Let us know of any
questions you may have.
Payment:

GM knew about fatal Chevy ignition problem decade before recall
Fri, 21 Feb 2014Well, this is not good for General Motors. Following a report last week that GM was recalling 778,000 Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 compacts over concerns that the ignition could switch out of the "run" position without warning, USA Today reports that the Detroit-based behemoth knew about the issue, which affected 2005 to 2007 Cobalts (the Cobalt shown above and in the gallery is from 2010) and 2007 Pontiac G5s, all the way back in 2004.
The information comes from a deposition in a civil lawsuit against GM, obtained by USA Today, which claims that a GM engineer experienced the issue while the then-new model was undergoing testing. The issue was "solved" when a technical service bulletin was issued in 2005, informing dealers to install a snap-on key cover on the cars of customers who complained about the issue. According to the Cobalt's program engineering manager, Gary Altman, the cover was an "improvement, it was not a fix to the issue."
The case where the depositions were made was from 2010, and involved Brooke Melton, a 29-year-old pediatric nurse in Georgia who was killed on her birthday. At the time, police claimed she was going too fast on a wet, rural road, although it later came out through the black box that her car's ignition had come out of the "run" position at least three seconds before the accident (the max amount of time a black box records before a wreck), disabling her airbags, power steering and anti-lock brakes. According to USA Today, police said Melton was "traveling too fast for the roadway conditions," although it's impossible to know if she'd have been in the wreck, which injured the occupants of another vehicle, had her 2005 Chevy not shut off. GM settled the Melton family's case, although the details remain confidential.
Howard Stern latest in Seinfeld's passenger seat for CiCGC
Thu, 06 Feb 2014We'll be honest: the actual cars in Jerry Seinfeld's hit internet series, Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, typically take a back seat to the celebrities in the front row. Seinfeld usually throws in a few lines about his classic wheels in the first minute or so, and then moves on to the important business of sprightly conversation and pithy one-liners. It's great.
This time around, with legendary motormouth Howard Stern riding shotgun, the 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge that might have been a co-star, gets forgotten about almost completely. Instead, Stern spends a tremendous amount of screen time extolling the virtues of his therapy sessions, attempts to dive into Seinfeld's prowess as a lover and generally makes a nuisance of himself. Pretty much to plan, then.
Scroll below to hear Howard accuse Jerry of acting like Jesus, just before declaring himself the greatest radio personality in the history of the business.
Saturn Vue ignition switch leads to new group of GM recalls totaling 312k
Fri, 08 Aug 2014General Motors has another spate of recalls to announce. This time they cover 312,280 vehicles worldwide, including 269,041 of in the US, in a total of six campaigns. In 2014, the automaker has recalled 29,079,765 vehicles worldwide, with 25,754,356 of those in the US.
The largest among them covers 215,243 units of the Saturn Vue from 2002-2004 model years worldwide, 202,115 in the US. It's possible for the for the key to be removed even when the ignition isn't in the OFF position. The company knows of two crashes and one injury caused by this problem. Dealers are checking the parts and replacing the ignition cylinder and key set, if necessary.
Next is 72,826 models worldwide (48,059 vehicles in the US) of the 2013 Cadillac ATS four-door sedan, 2013 Buick Encore and 2013 Chevy Trax in Canada. It's possible that the for lap belt pretensioner to retract but not to lock, which could increase occupant movement during a crash. Both front, outboard lap belt pretensioners are being replaced, and a stop-sale is in effect on unsold models until the problem is repaired. There are no known crashes or injuries, though.
