1980 Trans Am T-Tops Amazing paint and new upholstery

A fun vehicle to drive with T-Tops get it before summer starts. I have drove this car on long 4 hour drives never had a problem it shifts great and rides really good. Since I had the work done to the vehicle I have only driven it maybe 2 hours tops. The car itself has been repainted last year a long with new upholstery and cushions with seating upgraded stereo with Bluetooth and plug in for mp3 or phone. The car is an automatic with close to 90,000 miles and has collector plates. The roof liner and the car visors were redone with same material used on the to match the upholstery along with new carpeting on floor. This vehicle includes the snowflake rims that are in excellent condition along with new center caps and lug nuts. The only rust underneath I see worth noting is by back bumper and that's it! Paint job is amazing a long with uposlery look. *Car was sitting all winter haven't cleaned it in these pictures*

Now with this said even though the paint job and decals are excellent a long with the upholstery there still is some things to be done. The outside trim has to be fasten professionally. A long with some other work you will see with inside trim and windows rolling down properly. Also the arm rests have not been replaced on the inside side doors when I had the interior done. The engine and transmission both have slight leaks neither have I ever addressed because the leaks are small. The engine it self is suppose to be a 350 but I have no idea if it's original or even what size it is all I do know is that it's a V-8 I'm told though people will know just from pictures so look at pictures.

The best way for me to show this car is with pictures to show the level of what has been done and the few things that should to be done. Any car like this always needs attention and could always do something with it here and there. Over all it's really coming together nicely and incredible look.

I have over $22,000 dollars into this car.

General Lee takes on Bandit T/A in classic Hollywood car showdown [w/poll]

Fri, 26 Aug 2011

You don't have to be born in the 1960s or 1970s to be able to recognize the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard and the Pontiac Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit. These old school four-wheeled stars seem to transcend demographics thanks to the miles of film that show the orange 1969 Dodge Charger and the jet-black 1977 Pontiac Trans Am performing seemingly impossible stunts.
The folks at Hot Rod magazine are obviously hip to this fact, and they put together a fun video in tribute of the instantly recognizable duo. Hit the jump to watch on as Sam Young and James Smith replace Bo Duke and The Bandit for a bit of dirt-road shenanigans in a pair of otherwise well cared for classics. We're not so sure we'd call it the best chase scene ever, but it sure looks like a lot of fun.
More importantly, which of these two cars would you rather own? Have your say in our poll below.

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable

Fri, 21 Sep 2012

General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.

Watch this garbage truck consume a Pontiac Grand Am

Wed, 15 May 2013

When an old car or truck offers its dying breath in your driveway and you just don't have the financial or mechanical wherewithal to resuscitate it yet again, you traditionally have to go to the trouble of calling a flatbed or a tow truck to come haul it away. That usually helps to put a few bucks in your wallet and helps recycle some of the vehicle's parts, but the transaction doesn't seem as final or perversely satisfying as the dispatch service that this New Way Cobra Magnum garbage truck offers.
Okay, okay, so this refuse hauler isn't actually designed for this sort of thing, but it's oddly comforting to know that a sanitation truck can compact a hapless Pontiac Grand Am into oblivion. Next time, we won't feel so guilty about slipping that rusty charcoal grille onto the curb next to the cans on garbage day. Watch the carnage by scrolling below.
