1979 Trans Am - “Awesome Classic”- Atlantis Blue - Muscle Car

Up for sale we have a “Primo Investment” and “Excellent Fun Running” 1979 Pontiac Trans Am classic muscle car;  In very good condition inside and out.  Under the hood it has original 403 V-8 and automatic transmission with 59,100 original miles to the best of my knowledge. Car runs quiet (LOL) meaning no rattles or window air leaks.

It has a straight body with consistent space gaps, both doors, hood and trunk open and close smoothly with no concerns.  Appears to have “no body work”, exterior paint / gold decals (and hood eagle) in very good shape with a few minor paint chips.  Exterior paint is Atlantis Blue and looks very sharp.

The Interior has a factory fresh look and feel where the seats, console, doors, dash, headliner, and carpet are in very good shape.  It has the original factory gauges, speedometer, tachometer, oil gauge, etc. all in good working order - clock works but not like a Swiss watch.  The power windows, tilt, and interior/exterior lights all work, and A/C blows cool, and heater heats up pretty good, front defrost, and rear electric defroster / & lighted switch work well.  Power locks work but in slow motion.  It does not have any radio, but has dual rear speakers.  I bought the car with parking brake not working, wipers work but fluid spray needs work.  It has the (62X) Camel matching interior - great shape.

This is a high end quality Trans Am - “not” a 100 point show car but it is an awesome looker with that “Sweet Hot Purr - Wow Wow” with the car's sinister  "T/A-6.6" branded shaker hood, rear and front spoilers in very good shape, side cooling ports, and honeycomb silver-gold snowflake aluminum WS6 15 by 7 wheels with the Trans Am 'gold bird' center caps. Tires are “near new” P245/60 R15.  It has power front and rear disc brakes, power steering, and dual side splitting SST exhaust pipes.

This car was made in Van Nuys, CA with VIN # 2W87K9L178,256 - it runs and idles near perfect, and shifts like it should. It runs cool, charges correctly, and leaves “no” leaking fluids. The frame, floor pans, and exhaust are solid and clean, very little to no rust on 98% of this car, there are a couple spots in rear/undercarriage, and half dollar rust hole on the catalytic converter.

It has an immaculate trunk space and door with space saving spare tire and wheel.   I have owned the car for 3 1/2 years and has been garage kept by me, and appears it was very well kept in it’s history.  I bought the car for an investment and hardly drove it, but to keep it running properly.  This car will make a very happy buyer, I am not selling it because I don’t love the car, but because I want to move on to other financial desires.

January 2013 I was starting and running car in driveway, noticed a little fluid leakage, and speedometer jumping around not working like it always does then it quit working, I took car to Precision Tune Auto care, the fluid leakage was brake fluid, had rear brake wheel cylinders replaced, rear brake shoes replaced, brake line and master cylinder flushed and replaced with new.  Had the oil and filter changed, lubed, the oil dipstick tube was faulty and I had them replace it with a new one, speedometer was checked out and they replaced the speedometer gear retainer, and housing seals. the cable was fine.  The car was driven about 20 miles with the speedometer not functioning right.  Also had a headlight changed out, and new belts were also put on.  I had also bought a new battery about 6 months ago.  Car has been very well cared for and kept up and will make a very good buy.

Buyer responsible for shipping Vehicle, if not picked up.  Buyer must schedule pickup prior to making travel arrangements.  Anyone buying sight unseen & having the car shipped,  please have a professional 3rd party inspect car (at your cost) so what gets shipped matches what got shipped.  The buyer/transit company is financially responsible for all shipping damages.

$1000.00 US dollar no refund deposit payable to PayPal within 48 hours of Auction end, with remainder to be paid within 7 Days of Auction end.  Cash or Bank wire transfer preferred, no personal checks for the remainder of the money owed.  Car WILL-NOT be released until funds clear my Bank, or my pocket.  It is a wonderful car with a clean, clear, Minnesota title in hand.

Anyone with zero feedback will have to contact me first if they would like to bid, no exceptions.  There is no bidding then inspecting, or buying then inspecting.  With due respect I have gone to great lengths to detail and inform about this VG car with closest integrity.  If you bid you are in line to buy the car.  If you have the winning bid you have bought the car, and it has no warranty.  If you want to inspect car before you bid, I will do everything I can to make that happen.

Shipping, fees, and taxes are all on the buyer, I pay nothing but my own E-bay fees.  If shipping becomes a reality the buyer will procure and facilitate their own transport company.  I will honor it on my end, as long as all payment is complete.

eBay Find of the Day: 1967 Pontiac GTO Monkeemobile

Sun, 29 Apr 2012

Say what you will about The Monkees, but the guys in the band had great taste in automobiles. Take the Monkeemobile, for example. Built off a 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible, the custom featured genuinely interesting bodywork and some wild engine bolt-ons. If you're a fan of 1960s pop and yearn to relive the genre's glory days, eBay Motors may have what you need. A recreation of the 1967 Monkeemobile has showed up for auction. This particular replica was built by Dakota County Customs using an four-speed GTO, just like the original.
Built for the band's 45th anniversary and the final Monkees tour last year, this Monkeemobile is faithful down to every last detail. Unfortunately, the trumpet exhaust poking out of the front fender wells and the massive gold-flake blower are for show only. Seems fitting.
If you like what you see, this machine is up for bid in Richfield, Minnesota with two days left on the auctions. So far, bidding as whipped up to $60,000 with the reserve not met. Head over to eBay Motors to have a look.

This 1927 Oakland is a minimalist hot rod

Fri, 21 Feb 2014

There are hundreds of American automakers that sprung up during the dawn of the automotive era, only to fold into obscurity or get gobbled up by what would eventually become the Big Four (yes, we're counting AMC here). Oakland is one such company, which was the forbearer for General Motors' Pontiac division. Sold until 1931, you simply don't see Oakland-badged cars anymore. Unless, that is, you know Brian Bent.
Bent drives a 1927 Oakland that still rides on wooden wheels. Its original wooden wheels, from the sound of it. That makes this anachronist and his Oakland the perfect subject for a Petrolicious video. Like many of the cars highlighted by Petrolicious, this old Oakland has had some work done to it, featuring a Pontiac flathead engine that's been pushed forward and a clutch pack built by Bent.
Take a look below for a closer look at this rare and fascinating Oakland.

NHTSA investigating 550k Pontiac G6 models, 320k Honda Odysseys

Mon, 10 Jun 2013

According to two separate reports in The Detroit News, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is launching investigations into 550,000 Pontiac G6 (pictured above) and 320,000 Honda Odyssey (pictured right) models. The G6 models are all from the 2005 to 2007 model years, while the Odyssey minivans are from the 2003 and 2004 model years. The two NHTSA probes are not related.
In the case of the G6, this is an upgrade to an original investigation that started in February after NHTSA received "hundreds of reports" that the brake lights on these cars may malfunction. According to The Detroit News, the lights may come on when the brake pedal is not depressed, and likewise, the brake lights may not illuminate when the pedal has been pushed. General Motors was able to provide NHTSA with a significant number of warranty claims, including 1,100 reports that could potentially relate to this problem, one of which indicates a vehicle crash.
For Honda, the NHTSA probe concerns airbags that may deploy unexpectedly. The government agency received six complaints from 2003-04 Odyssey owners saying that the front airbags suddenly went off without a crash. The Detroit News reports that three of the six owners sustained injuries from these incidents. Additionally, NHTSA has received 41 complaints from owners saying the vehicle's airbag warning light had illuminated.
