1979 Pontiac Trans Am. 10th Anniversary special edition. Barn find. Factory 403 automatic. 1 of 5683. Engine is long gone. This is a project car needing complete restoration. I know little history on this car. I do believe that it was not ideal.  Previous owners repainted it poorly in the wrong color. Other than the dash (which is cracked & has aftermarket radio) the entire interior is wrong (mostly black panels) & in poor condition. Body is complete bumper to bumper. Flairs, front spoiler & shaker scoop are good shape and in the trunk. Grill is broken. Taillights look good. Glass looks good. The rest of the body has the typical rust for these cars, but not a rot box. Frame, trunk floor are very solid. Cabin floor is pretty good as well, I saw a poor, small patch on the driver floor near foot well from the bottom. I did not remove the carpet to see the rest of the floor. T-tops seem good, but are black not the factory chrome reflective. All of the factory "special performance package"  A.K.A. WS6 parts are intact, including steering box, sway bars, 4 wheel disc brakes, posi, etc. Has correct 15x8 snowflake wheels for WS6, but not correct for 10th anniversary. Again, this is a project car. Starting price is what I could easily part the car out with little effort. This is a NO RESERVE auction. I have a clear title in my name. I see it as an awesome resto-mod. I bought this car for the engine (71 455).  I'm more of a GTO guy, plus I have dozens of other projects that I'll never finish, so this car is for sale. You will be buying this car 100% AS-IS. ZERO warranty or promises. I encourage you to come and see it, or be very specific with your questions or picture requests.  Buyer pays all shipping costs. It will need to be towed or trailered.  $500.00 Paypal deposit due within 48 hours of auction end. COD upon delivery for balance. NO CHECKS of any kind. If buyer must use Paypal for balance, you will be required to pay their fees & costs. Balance due in 5 business days. No exceptions. PA is a notary state. Buyer will need to have title transferred into their name before delivery. I can store car for a few weeks no charge. I can also store car until March for an additional cost. I can also deliver a few hundred miles for additional cost. I reserve the right to end auction  early for any reason. I am very easy to get along with. I can call you if you send me your number. I answer all e-mails & questions. Please be patient. Thanx Jim.  VIN #2X87K9N158574

1969 Pontiac GTO Judge vs. 2006 GTO, which Goat gets your vote?

Mon, 08 Sep 2014

The Pontiac GTO was perhaps the most iconic muscle car of the '60s and early '70s. With its beefy V8 and color palette screaming for attention, it summarized in a single vehicle everything that made the era so appealing to many young people. Pontiac tried to collect just a few drops of that aura again in the 2000s with a revived GTO, but with decidedly mixed results. The performance was still there with its big V8, but the looks never quite lived up to the powertrain. Now, Generation Gap wants to know which of these Goats is the one to own.
Things are skewed immediately because the 2006 GTO here is a real ringer. It comes from famous tuner Ken Lingenfelter's collection, and it's a one-off example partially fettled by GM Performance boasting a twin-turbocharged LS2 V8 with a claimed 750 horsepower and a wide-body kit. This Goat definitely isn't what you're going to find just browsing for one to buy in the newspaper. Still, dip the throttle just a little, and this GTO pulls like a freight train. It's enough to turn the two hosts into giggling schoolboys behind the wheel.
The '69 GTO Judge here is also out of Lingenfelter's collection, but this one is all stock with a 400-cubic-inch (6.6-liter) V8 and a Ram Air hood for a claimed 366 hp. It might not have the unbelievable power of the turbo '06, but it makes up for it with style to spare.

Check out the official 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition commercial

Sat, 16 Mar 2013

The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.

Sci-fi movie Jinn features car designer, Firebird-bodied Camaro

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

If you're an automotive engineer being tormented by an immortal being made of fire, then wouldn't you think it best to have a custom coupe called the FireBreather for your getaway car? That's the FireBreather in the image above, adorned by the red wings that once fronted the Pontiac Firebird, running away from a black cloud of evil in a trailer for the movie Jinn.
The Jinn is eternal evil, always waiting for the chance to make things float across rooms before going on homicidal urban rampages. The FireBreather is a Gen-V Chevrolet Camaro - from the V6 to the ZL1 - that's been through Classic Design Concepts' extensive list of exterior and interior modifications, including entirely new front and rear fascias and side skirts, sway bars and springs, Pirelli P Zeroes and an available Edelbrock supercharger.
The movie - FireBreathing chase scenes and all - was shot in Monroe, Michigan. You can watch the trailer below, but since the FireBreather only get a couple of seconds on screen, you can find out more about it on Street Legal TV and its official site.
