This all original barn find has been in storage since 1997. I dragged it out, power washed the dust off of it, emptied the gas tank, poured in fresh high test and put a battery in it. It ran and drove, but the clutch was shot, probably why it was off the road. i replaced the clutch and it runs and drives. In need of a tune up and oil change. Looks like a very clean body, body work mostly done, a few small spots need finishing. The car is 100% complete, never hot rodded, with original 400 motor, posi rear and 4 speed trans. It comes with build sheet and window sticker from Pontiac factory in Norwood Ohio. Has original rally wheels, but comes with a set of snow flakes, was going to make it a "Smokey and the bandit' replica out of it. The interior is in good shape, only missing carpet and headliner.Interior is useable, needs cleaning, but not perfect, plastic panel are all in  good shape.Dash has a crack in the center. Door panels are very clean, but need speakers put in them, someone cut them for speakers. Glass looks good, widows roll up and down with ease, T Tops are clean Hurst Hatch smoked roofs in very good condition. The car needs minor body work finished and final sanding, rubbers for T tops doors and trunk, tune up, exhaust, and passenger floor patched. I cut a floor out of a super clean 78 Firebird, no chinese metal. The underbody is clean, trunk is mint, rust was from the inside t top leaking onto the carpets of the passenger side. Even have the original Pontiac shift knob, t handle not included. Every flare is present in decent shape, every molding present in good condition. This is a project car, needing all that I have outlined, runs and drives, stops well. Sold as is, please call to come look at it close if you like. Call me during normal hours 908-907-2414 Chris. If you win, this is a binding contract, car must be paid in full within 7 days or sooner of auction close, and picked up within 14 days.

Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day

Thu, 07 Jun 2012

Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.

Rumormill: DeLorean Motor Company considering rescuing Pontiac Solstice?

DeLorean Motor Company Pontiac Solstice renderings - Click above for high-res image gallery
General Motors has made a science out of sharing platforms. So when the company's Kappa platform was introduced for a new rear-drive roadster to be distributed across three different motor divisions, you'd have figured the program was pretty safe, right? Unfortunately for the workers at the Wilmington Assembly Plant which manufactured the Kappa roadsters, those three divisions were Pontiac, Saturn and Opel - three units which the General has either sold or shut down. Which is a shame, because a perfectly good rear-drive roadster platform is a heck of a thing to waste.
In one of the strangest rumors we've heard recently, however, our compatriots over at Jalopnik report that the DeLorean Motor Company (yes, that DeLorean Motor Company) is considering buying the plant and the platform from GM and putting it back into production as a new DMC.
