Up for sale is my 1976 Pontiac Trans Am LE 455 4spd Anniversary Car. This is a highly optioned car with power windows, power locks, rear defrost, rare rear console, AM/FM Radio w/ 8 Track, and 1 of 319 built. All original glass is still in the car, original bell housing w/ transmission stamped 26N600285, original rear w/ axle tag, dash vin, original door data sticker still on driver side door, original emission decal still on radiator support, original body by Fischer buck tag on cowl, correct 6H 455 heads, Intake 525355 (F156), Distributor 1112923 (6D3), Carb 17056263 (0946 AJA). The engine in the car is not correct and not running, I do have a WX engine block that came with the car when I bought it. The WX factory stamp means this engine is a correct 1976 455HO, and is included with this car. Vin on the dash (2 Pontiac)-(W Trans Am)-(87 Coupe)-(W 455ci) (6 1976)-(N Ohio Factory)- (600285 Production Number). The doors do not sag and close solid. The car does not look like it has ever been in a major accident, all quarters-doors-fenders-deck lid align straight. The car has one repaint about 20+ years ago with a sun roof was installed. The car will need rust work on the floors, two small patches in the trunk floor, patches in the quarters, patches in the doors, and would need a partial roof replacement where the sun roof is. I have a clear title in my name, and also have a copy of the title showing the prior two owners. Please call Sean if you have any questions 732-996-2431

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.

Hurst Edition Trans Am proves the Screaming Chicken will rise from the ashes

Wed, 31 Oct 2012

It seems the Pontiac Trans Am steadfastly refuses to die. Ever since Chevrolet was granted a retrofied Camaro to compete with the Ford Mustang, Pontiac lovers have lamented the loss of this 1970s icon. And, looking at the Hurst Edition from Trans Am Depot, shown here at the 2012 SEMA Show, may explain what all the fuss is about.
It's not going to appeal to everyone's muscle-car tastes, but there's certainly room for a brash-and-bold black-and-gold Special Edition in many a Trans Am lover's garage. After all, if you want the keys to a custom pony car, you'll certainly get noticed in this one. If this scheme isn't your bag,, you can alternatively order your Hurst Edition in white and gold or silver and black. Oh, and don't forget a color-coordinated Screaming Chicken on the hood.
No matter which way you choose to go, your inner Burt Reynolds will appreciate the Eibach suspension kit, forged wheels with Pirelli PZero tires, functional shaker hood, fender air extractors, rear spoiler and, of course, a Hurst shifter inside. The interior is emblazoned with all manner of special touches, including a Hurst dash plate and T/A stitching on the Katzkin two-tone leather seats.

1939 Pontiac Ghost Car commands $308,000 at auction

Mon, 01 Aug 2011

For the 1939 World's Fair, Pontiac built a Deluxe Six bodied in Plexiglass. Part of the Previews of Progress pavilion in which General Motors' Futurama showed off what was to come in the world of autos, the 'invisible' Pontiac is credited as the first transparent car in America. And there were no shortcuts taken with its body: the Plexiglass form was fabricated by the company that brought the material to market in 1933, Rohm & Haas.
The see-through sedan was sold at RM Auctions' St. John's auction in Michigan on July 30, fetching $308,000. Not bad appreciation for a domestic oddity that cost $25,000 to build when new. You can check out the high-res gallery of its innards, including copper and chrome metalwork and white moldings and wheels, and get the exhaustive details on it after the jump.
