Your looking at a 1975 Pontiac Trans Am 4spd car. The car has 29,000 original miles on her but is not 100% original.I,m the 4th owner of this beauty. She has PS, PB, AM/FM CD, Heater and Defrost. A/C delete car. By the vin this was or is a 455 HO, 4SPD car, but that motor was lost 15yrs ago by the 2nd owner. He took it to have it rebuilt and that company filed bankruptcy and the motor was lost. It now sports a 1970 LS6 454 with about 4,000 miles on it. It has a rebuildt M-20 Munice with new pressure plate, clutch and trow out bearing ( Center Force) New brakes,KYB shocks and new BF GOODRICH P225-70-15 on beautiful HoneyComb wheels with new rings, center caps and lug nuts.Interior is original with no rips or tears aswell as the dash has no cracks and all gauges work as they should. What she needs is the shifter rebuilt or replaced because it rattles. The car drives well with no issues. For all you pontiac Gurus out there, the original color was Silver because Black was not an option that year. I believe the car was taken apart and completely repainted black because I cant find one spec on silver on her. Laser straight body aswell. It has to be, its black. The car is sold as is. Buyer responsible for shipping. A 5,000.00 is due within 48hrs of ending bid by Certified Funds and the same prior to pick up Thanks for looking. Dont let tis one get away she is nice. Any questions call Mark at 512-585-7788 Almost forgot she has all new exhaust with flow masters and new tips. Also I will include the Ram Air Formula hood with shaker cutout aswell.

GM recalling 778,000 Cobalts and G5s, six deaths reported

Thu, 13 Feb 2014

General Motors has announced that it will be recalling 778,562 compact cars after six people were killed in accidents, partially due to the airbags' failure to deploy. An issue with the ignition switch is causing the airbag issues, as well as causing the engine and other components to shut off without warning. The recall covers the 2005 to 2007 model year Chevrolet Cobalt and 2007 Pontiac G5. (Note that the Cobalt pictured above is a 2009 model.)
According to a report from Automotive News, a number of factors can cause the ignition to switch out of the run position, including weights on the key ring, rough or bumpy roads or other "jarring" events. Any of these situations could lead to some vehicle components not functioning properly.
There have been five fatal front-impact crashes that took the lives of six people, although as a GM spokesman noted, all five of the crashes happened off road and at high speed. In each of these cases, though, the lack of airbags wasn't the only lethal factor - alcohol and failure to wear a seat belt also played a role. Outside of the fatal accidents, there have been 17 other crashes where airbags didn't deploy. It's unclear if any of these crashes were caused by the engine shutting off.

Hurst Edition Trans Am proves the Screaming Chicken will rise from the ashes

Wed, 31 Oct 2012

It seems the Pontiac Trans Am steadfastly refuses to die. Ever since Chevrolet was granted a retrofied Camaro to compete with the Ford Mustang, Pontiac lovers have lamented the loss of this 1970s icon. And, looking at the Hurst Edition from Trans Am Depot, shown here at the 2012 SEMA Show, may explain what all the fuss is about.
It's not going to appeal to everyone's muscle-car tastes, but there's certainly room for a brash-and-bold black-and-gold Special Edition in many a Trans Am lover's garage. After all, if you want the keys to a custom pony car, you'll certainly get noticed in this one. If this scheme isn't your bag,, you can alternatively order your Hurst Edition in white and gold or silver and black. Oh, and don't forget a color-coordinated Screaming Chicken on the hood.
No matter which way you choose to go, your inner Burt Reynolds will appreciate the Eibach suspension kit, forged wheels with Pirelli PZero tires, functional shaker hood, fender air extractors, rear spoiler and, of course, a Hurst shifter inside. The interior is emblazoned with all manner of special touches, including a Hurst dash plate and T/A stitching on the Katzkin two-tone leather seats.

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
