Stunning 1973 Pontiac Trans AM. All original car that was treated to a high end rotisserie restoration that started in 2005. The car has competed in many car shows and received a second place silver in its class(stock restored muscle cars 1967-1975) at the nationally recognized Keels and Wheels Concours event in Texas in 2009. The winning car was a just completed Hemi powered Superbird...hard to beat! This car comes with complete owner history including a title dated 1978 showing the cars mileage at 63400 miles. The car was restored by a retired bodyman who searched high and low for a Trans Am that still retained all of its original drivetrain. He then went about a complete mechanical and body restoration using NOS parts where necessary including body panels. I have pictures of the restoration. Again, this car is stock with the exception of a slightly higher performance cam and a beautifully done magnaflow exhaust system. The restoration is holding up very well, but I recently noted that the front nose, where it meets the middle of the hood, has some paint checking starting to appear...a common issue with the endura nose( see pictures). Other than that, the paint is incredible and the car has no other paint flaws. The chassis is highly detailed including inspection tags and correct red oxide paint. Mechanically the car performs well and has a lot of power thanks to the slighly hotter than stock cam installed when car was restored. I think the '73 is the best looking of the early 70's Trans Am and this car is stunning in Cameo white with the blue Firebird on the hood and deluxe burgandy interior. Car is highly optioned as shown in the included PHS docs including tinted glass, power windows, rear defrost, a/c, console, factory 8 tape player, am/fm stereo, and the custom trim group. The ram air does work on this car though the sticker says delete and credited original buyer $27! This car was delivered new to Ed Schmidt Pontiac in Toledo Ohio. I am the fifth owner of this stunning car and have had this car in my collection since 2006. I am now focusing on C1 and 2 Corvettes ... C1 and C2 Top Flight trades considered. If you are looking for a quality, restored, stock Trans Am your search has ended. Glad to answer any questions from interested buyers. NO SCAMMERS, NO TIRE KICKERS PLEASE>

GM doing fine at retaining Pontiac owners
Fri, 28 Oct 2011This isn't the first time we've reported positive news about General Motors retaining former Pontiac owners. Get a few more stories like this latest report from Edmund's Auto Observer, and it will mark an ongoing positive trend for GM. Edmunds.com crunched the numbers to see how well the General is hanging on to customers after shutting out the lights at Pontiac, and it found that nearly 40 percent of Pontiac owners stayed with a vehicle from a General Motors brand.
The numbers are a little lower than an earlier R.L. Polk & Company study, but Edmunds says General Motors is keeping more former Pontiac buyers than it has since 2007. Most are turning to vehicles from Chevrolet, especially during January and February of 2011, when GM incentivized Pontiac owners to stay under the umbrella. Those moves seem to have worked, and 28.1 percent of Pontiac owners trading up made the jump into a Bowtie.
Buyers that have gone elsewhere have largely stayed loyal to Domestic automakers, with Ford picking up the most conquests from Pontiac, with 9.4 percent switching. Toyota and Honda picked up 7.4 percent of the pool of former Pontiac drivers. The numbers are defying any predictions that Pontiac buyers would completely exit the General Motors fold, and have climbed up closer to parity with the retention figures of other GM brands from a 2009 low of only 16 percent retention.
Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day
Thu, 07 Jun 2012Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.
Sci-fi movie Jinn features car designer, Firebird-bodied Camaro
Tue, 08 Apr 2014If you're an automotive engineer being tormented by an immortal being made of fire, then wouldn't you think it best to have a custom coupe called the FireBreather for your getaway car? That's the FireBreather in the image above, adorned by the red wings that once fronted the Pontiac Firebird, running away from a black cloud of evil in a trailer for the movie Jinn.
The Jinn is eternal evil, always waiting for the chance to make things float across rooms before going on homicidal urban rampages. The FireBreather is a Gen-V Chevrolet Camaro - from the V6 to the ZL1 - that's been through Classic Design Concepts' extensive list of exterior and interior modifications, including entirely new front and rear fascias and side skirts, sway bars and springs, Pirelli P Zeroes and an available Edelbrock supercharger.
The movie - FireBreathing chase scenes and all - was shot in Monroe, Michigan. You can watch the trailer below, but since the FireBreather only get a couple of seconds on screen, you can find out more about it on Street Legal TV and its official site.
