Black 2002 Pontiac Sunfire GT Coupe in good condition with a clean title; meticulously maintained by single non-smoking owner. Graphite grey interior in excellent condition; exterior shows some wear, but no rust. Fully loaded with Sun and Storm Package (2.2-L 4-speed automatic transmission, ABS, A/C, Monsoon sound system with CD player/8 speakers/200 Watts, power sunroof/windows/doors/mirrors, 16 in. aluminum wheels, and remote keyless entry). Fully documented and consistent regularly scheduled maintenance. Also, consistently passes NYS inspections (current inspection good through 9/2013). Several recently updated systems: new fuel pump (4/2013); new oxygen sensors (9/2010 and 9/2011); new catalytic converter, ignition module, and spark plugs (10/2010). 1939 Pontiac Ghost Car commands $308,000 at auction
Mon, 01 Aug 2011For the 1939 World's Fair, Pontiac built a Deluxe Six bodied in Plexiglass. Part of the Previews of Progress pavilion in which General Motors' Futurama showed off what was to come in the world of autos, the 'invisible' Pontiac is credited as the first transparent car in America. And there were no shortcuts taken with its body: the Plexiglass form was fabricated by the company that brought the material to market in 1933, Rohm & Haas.
The see-through sedan was sold at RM Auctions' St. John's auction in Michigan on July 30, fetching $308,000. Not bad appreciation for a domestic oddity that cost $25,000 to build when new. NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.
