Check out this SWEET 1950 Pontiac Chieftain. This was a friend of mines ride and baby. Its was restored by him and always garage kept! The pictures you see are just how it was when we pulled it out of his garage! This was a frame on resto. The paint is a beautiful straight black and has no flaws I can find. There are no dents, dings or scratches. It appears to be the original color also. The interior is done in a gray cloth and is new throughout. The headliner is new and the seats are like setting on your couch at home. It is wonderful to be drove around and setting in the back seat.  The dash is in great shape and is finished in a silver grey and shows very well. All Gauges and instruments on the dash functions as they should. The car has the Cool Push Button Factory Start. This slick ride is a 3 Speed on the column. The transmission shifts smooth and strong. The clutch is strong and very easy to push. The car drives true and straight. Its doesnt wonder all over the road like most old 50 cars do. Its has a fairly new set of Coker wide white tires with stock rims. The rims have been painted red to give it a nice accent of color. The Chrome is like new all over the car. The chrome has no dents on dings of any kind I can find. All headlights, Taillights, Signal lights, Interior Lights, Dash Lights, Etc. function as they should. The car is equipped with Factory Sun Visor and Fender Skirts. All the glass is clear with no clouding. The doors, trunk and engine hood shut solid. The car is equipped with the numbers matching SUPER DEPENDABLE Straight 8!! The engine is strong and runs like a champ!! It is so quite that you only hear the tires on the road. The engine compartment is detailed out. The engine is nicely repainted the factory green. The car is still on its original 6 volt system. It is equipped with new OLD style interstate battery. The car starts like a dream every time also. This ride will make some person a great driver / show car! Or it is ready for the WEST COAST and turn into a OLD SCHOOL LOW RIDER!! The odo is showing 91400 which we believe to be the actual miles. However we are selling it tmu due to how the DMV does titles now in the state of VA. Also due to its age. This ride is also equipped with new exhaust and is super quite. We have gone completely over this car in our shop and have found it to be a great solid ride. We can not think of a thing this sweet ride needs, other than a new good owner and great home as before!! If you have any further questions please feel free to e-mail us or call us at 540-537-1223. Please leave a message if there is no answer. Any inspections are welcomed. Again this a GREAT Solid Ride. Just took it for a nice long ride today!!! It truly is a pleasure to drive! Love those VENT WINDOWS too!!!  DO NOT MISS THIS ONE!!! GOOD LUCK BIDDING!!

1969 Pontiac GTO Judge vs. 2006 GTO, which Goat gets your vote?

Mon, 08 Sep 2014

The Pontiac GTO was perhaps the most iconic muscle car of the '60s and early '70s. With its beefy V8 and color palette screaming for attention, it summarized in a single vehicle everything that made the era so appealing to many young people. Pontiac tried to collect just a few drops of that aura again in the 2000s with a revived GTO, but with decidedly mixed results. The performance was still there with its big V8, but the looks never quite lived up to the powertrain. Now, Generation Gap wants to know which of these Goats is the one to own.
Things are skewed immediately because the 2006 GTO here is a real ringer. It comes from famous tuner Ken Lingenfelter's collection, and it's a one-off example partially fettled by GM Performance boasting a twin-turbocharged LS2 V8 with a claimed 750 horsepower and a wide-body kit. This Goat definitely isn't what you're going to find just browsing for one to buy in the newspaper. Still, dip the throttle just a little, and this GTO pulls like a freight train. It's enough to turn the two hosts into giggling schoolboys behind the wheel.
The '69 GTO Judge here is also out of Lingenfelter's collection, but this one is all stock with a 400-cubic-inch (6.6-liter) V8 and a Ram Air hood for a claimed 366 hp. It might not have the unbelievable power of the turbo '06, but it makes up for it with style to spare.

CNN chronicles young girl building Pontiac Fiero

Fri, 26 Oct 2012

At fourteen years of age, Kathryn DiMaria has already done what many self-proclaimed gearheads won't even attempt in their lifetimes. The Dearborn, Michigan teen is rebuilding a car from the ground up.
The intrepid youngster asked her parents when she was just twelve to start a Pontiac Fiero project, even offering to pony up all the funds herself. Father, Jerry DiMaria only expected the project to last a few months, but two years later, Kathryn is still at it. In this CNN video, the two are at Maker Faire (a DIY festival) rebuilding a 3.4-liter V6 engine out of a Chevrolet Camaro to replace the 2.8-liter mill found in the Fiero.
The whole family hast pitched in, with Kathryn's mother teaching her how to sew in order to complete the interior, father Jerry providing much of the technical know-how, and even her sister is chronicling Kathryn's progress through photos. Jerry even started a thread in a Fiero forum which has been live for two years and is now 22 pages long. Of the project, one forum member wrote, "welcome to the madness."

1939 Pontiac Ghost Car commands $308,000 at auction

Mon, 01 Aug 2011

For the 1939 World's Fair, Pontiac built a Deluxe Six bodied in Plexiglass. Part of the Previews of Progress pavilion in which General Motors' Futurama showed off what was to come in the world of autos, the 'invisible' Pontiac is credited as the first transparent car in America. And there were no shortcuts taken with its body: the Plexiglass form was fabricated by the company that brought the material to market in 1933, Rohm & Haas.
The see-through sedan was sold at RM Auctions' St. John's auction in Michigan on July 30, fetching $308,000. Not bad appreciation for a domestic oddity that cost $25,000 to build when new. You can check out the high-res gallery of its innards, including copper and chrome metalwork and white moldings and wheels, and get the exhaustive details on it after the jump.
